For the role of Elizabeth Taylor in an upcoming TV movie, Lindsay Lohan has some serious competition.

Megan Fox is reportedly being considered for the part, too.

While Lohan is still in talks for the film, which examines the relationship between Taylor and Richard Burton, producers have also been in touch with actresses including Fox, reports E!

Production is expected to begin this spring.

Lohan’s availability for any film project, of course, is dependent on completion of her probation.

She has her second check-in with Judge Stephanie Sautner on Tuesday.

What’s the key to the Kardashian shows’ success?

According to E! president Suzanne Kolb, it’s because viewers are enamored with the infamous clan.

“People aspire to be them or to befriend them,” says network’s head honcho.

Kolb, who describes the Kardashians as “an incredibly bonded, loving, large family who live an incredibly large life,” explains that shows like “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” aren’t all that different from TV programs of years past.

“If you actually look at the history of television, there’s a pretty large number of families with that blend resonating with viewers,” Kolb tells The Wrap. “This just happens to be the first reality show that does it.”

Kolb, however, does acknowledge that not everyone loves “Kourtney and Kim Take New York” and the like.

She just doesn’t plan on changing E!’s programming because of it, despite a recent petition asking the network to cancel all its Kardashian-related programming.

“We take every viewer comment seriously, but no,” says Kolb. “We did not consider not to be in business with the Kardashians.”

In fact, the network recently revealed it hopes to add “two, three, even four new” spinoffs.

The sordid saga of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries‘ failed marriage was one of the main storylines again on Sunday’s “Kourtney and Kim Take New York.”

The latest episode of the E! reality series showcased the now-former couple clashing on whether it was okay for the basketball player to entertain people at their New York City pad while the socialite was out of town.

Backed by sister Kourtney, who shares the luxurious abode with boyfriend Scott Disick and son Mason, Kim said she didn’t want people partying in their home.

But when the cat’s away, the mouse, apparently, will play.

Despite Disick’s protestations and warnings, Humphries invited more than a few friends – and strangers – over.

When Kim found out about the festivities, she was predictably angry and upset.

“Don’t lie to me,” she chastised.

Humphries claimed to learn a lesson and vowed not to let it happen again.

Kim Kardashian‘s divorce from Kris Humphries was naturally parodied on “Saturday Night Live.”

A mock E! special teased, “Get ready for the latest Kardashian event — ‘Kim’s Fairytale Divorce.’”

It also told viewers to “Tune in for a storybook ceremony as Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries sign their divorce papers.”

Kim, flanked by Khloe and Kourtney, looks into the camera and says how it’s been a rough time. “All week we’ve been just crying and crying and posing and crying and getting our anuses bleached.”

There are also great parodies of Kris and Bruce Jenner, as well as Lamar Odom.

But despite her marriage crumbling, Kim says, “Things are looking up for me — I’m single and there’s an NBA lockout.”

Kendall Jenner is about to turn 16, but don’t expect her to celebrate like any regular teenage girl.

The Kardashian little sis is reportedly getting her own special on E!, which will document the weeks leading up to her 16th birthday on November 3.

According to Us Weekly, the show will detail Jenner’s experiences planning her party, shopping for a car, and possibly even getting a belly button ring or tattoo (although we doubt Bruce Jenner would go for the latter).

The mag says the Kardashians are also trying to get some big talent to headline the bash.

Why not just have Kim perform her single “Jam (Turn it Up)”?

RadarOnline reports that Kim Kardashian “shopped around” for basketball player boyfriends to star on the January 2011 premiere of “Kourtney & Kim Take New York,” before eventually settling on Kris Humphries.

The site, picking up on a story from Wetpaint.com, says “Kim was so eager to date a basketball player that E! were (sic) calling around teams to matchmake with NBA athletes.”

The blog reports, “E! Television staff contacted the New York Knicks to ask if hunky Italian basketball star Danilo Gallinari would be interested in dating Kim,” quoting a “source” as saying, “They asked if he would be interested in dating her and being on a reality show.”

Gallinari declined the supposed offer, alleges the insider, and soon after Kardashian began dating New Jersey Nets player Humphries.

“It makes you wonder if E! made the same offer to the Nets – and they didn’t turn it down!” offers RadarOnline.

Well instead of scratching our heads and pointlessly wondering like RadarOnline, Gossip Cop actually took the time to check on this bizarre conspiracy theory, and we found that it’s just as ridiculous as it sounds.

An impeccable Kardashian family source tells us “This is NOT true.”

Perhaps RadarOnline should shop around for some new reporters.

In a recent interview with the Fix, Courtney Love candidly talks about her past drug use and calls out fellow former addict Kelly Osbourne for labeling Love a “crackhead” on E!‘s “Fashion Police.”

Love says that even though she’s now sober, she “still can’t escape the stigma [of being an addict] for some reason. Even people like Kelly Osbourne feel free to f**k with me.”

“This is a girl whose life I have saved twice,” Love continued, “Once with C.P.R. and another time with C.P.R. and violence – by which I mean I had to poke her furiously in certain places to wake her up from her coma.”

Whoa!

Now it looks like Osbourne is disputing Love’s claims (although she doesn’t mention her by name).

This afternoon, Osbourne tweeted, “I’ll make you a deal, you stop telling lies about me, and I’ll stop telling the truth about you (you know who you are).”

So the war of words between Love and Osbourne seems to be heating up.

“Denise Richards Stays Mum While Charlie Sheen Torpedos His Truth,” reads a headline on EOnline, which claims Richards is staying silent about her ex’s antics in an effort to ensure he keeps paying child support for their two daughters.

According to EOnline, before Sheen was fired from “Two and a Half Men,” Richards simply used her ex-husband’s escapades “to help milk her own TV appearances.” But now that he’s out of work, contends the site, she’s staying mum for fear that he’ll cut her off.

EOnline writes that Richards “is making extra efforts to ensure that regular ‘n’ hefty child-support check (not to mention a few other ones) continues to make its way into her bank account.”

The site, however, is a little off-base.

Firstly, Richards was mum on Sheen’s antics long before he was fired from his hit show, and certainly didn’t use him to “milk” press for herself.

In fact, after Sheen imploded naked and drunk at the Plaza Hotel, Richards upheld her TV commitments to promote “Blue Mountain State” the very next day, and completely refrained from commenting on his meltdown.

Secondly, Gossip Cop knows that after Richards and Sheen split – due to California’s community property law and his big-time residuals from syndication – the Wild Things star doesn’t need any so-called “hush” money.

Lastly, child support is not like spousal support. It’s court-mandated, and if a father fails to pay it, he can be arrested and even go to jail.

As Richards herself just tweeted at EOnline, “4 the record child support is just that. Its not ‘hush’ money, I get it if I open my mouth or not. I am not paid to be quiet!”

The reason, as Gossip Cop has learned, that Richards has remained mum for years is that she’s the mom of his daughters.

The tab reports that the E! and “American Idol” personality “can share makeup with his girlfriend, Julianne Hough.”

Huh?

Star quotes a co-called “source” as saying, “He loves to wear mascara to make his lashes fuller!”

But that’s not all.

The mag adds he also get his eyelashes “tinted auburn brown so that his eyes really pop against his spray tan.”

Actually, the only thing that’s “made-up” is Star‘s report.

A source close to Seacrest assures Gossip Cop the tab’s claims are “so untrue.”

According to E! Online, Ashley Greene “gave some serious ‘tude” last night in Los Angeles when photographers asked about her split from Joe Jonas.

The site claims the Twilight star “snapped” when a paparazzo “deigned to inquire about her former fling,” with whom she recently broke up.

“Why so snippy, Ash?” asks E!

One tiny problem… there’s video of the incident, and the only rude ones are the photographers themselves.

Greene and her companions were met by paparazzi who swarmed the actress, almost knocking over some bystanders.

Meanwhile, Greene never gets “snippy” with them at all.

She simply tells one photographer – very calmly – that his question is “not nice.”

That’s it.

Greene then smiles and poses for pictures with fans.

We’re not sure where she shows off that alleged “tude.”

It’s a shame that outlets feel the need to portray Greene and other perfectly polite stars with misleading accounts like this one.

The site notes how they’ve been spotted at dinners and even “sitting together courtside at a Milwaukee Bucks game this month.”

So, is Szohr dating the Super Bowl’s winning quarterback?

A rep for the “Gossip Girl” star says, “They are not dating,” adding that Szohr has met and hung out with Rodgers just a few times.

According to EOnline, Cyrus and Bowman were “inseparable” at the film’s wrap party.

And here’s why E! claims they’re a couple. Cyrus, says the site, has a type. “Just like her last boyfriend, Josh is tall (6 feet), older (22) and foreign. He was born in Berkshire, England. Sounds like Miley can’t resist a accent.”

Khloe Kardashian and Kate Hudson are victims of a ridiculous bait-and-switch by OK!

On the tab’s cover, the two stars are pictured under the headline, “Pregnant & Betrayed.”

The so-called “betrayals” are far from what one expects.

For Kardashian, In Touch says the “betrayal” is that E! made her change her hair color back to brown from red, so that the cable network could more smoothly edit scenes with her in “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”

Hardly “betrayed.”

Also, hardly accurate. The real reason she changed her hair color, says an insider, is that she didn’t like how it looked.

As for Hudson’s “betrayal,” OK! regurgitates last week’s news that her biological dad, Bill Hudson, is writing a tell-all book about the actress’ mom, his ex-wife Goldie Hawn.

Hardly “betrayed.”

Side note: Reports of Kardashian being pregnant have still not been confirmed.

Actually, the only ones “betrayed” are those who read OK!

Howard Stern has inked a deal that will extend his on-demand TV presence.

The “King of All Media” renewed an agreement with In Demand that gives subscribers over 40 hours of uncensored programming each month.

A statement from the company announced, “We are thrilled that he will be continuing his iconic show, and proud to be able to deliver Howard TV to cable audiences around North America who want to see Howard Stern in action.”

The legendary broadcaster announced last month that he would stay at Sirius XM satellite radio for five more years.

A televised version of Stern’s show ran on E! for many years before he left terrestrial radio in 2005.

“DIVORCE DRAMA!” screams the cover of the latest In Touch.

According to the mag, Kendra Wilkinson and husband Hank Baskett‘s relationship “has disintegrated to the point where they can barely say a civil word to each other,” and she recently told her husband that she’s “done” with their marriage.

The tab goes on to claim that although the reality star “made a show of closeness by visiting Hank in Minnesota over the holidays,” she “secretly met with a divorce lawyer in L.A.” before the trip.

So what is the cause of their “problems”?

In Touch quotes a source as saying that the former Playmate “misses being single,” and is bitter that “she’s the main breadwinner” in the family.

“They don’t share the same bed when they’re in the same house,” adds the same so-called source.

But a true insider assures Gossip Cop the couple is fine.

And get this, while the tab is reporting that they’re calling it quits, a rep at E! tells us, “Kendra and Hank will be attending the TCA/E! party tonight together.”

No “drama.”

Today, the New York Daily News examines why Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson split up, and in the process the paper makes a few notable errors.

Picking up on a story from E!, the tabloid reports that Blake Lively - Reynolds’ Green Lantern costar – “may have led him astray,” and that there were “rumblings that everything wasn’t exactly up to wedding vow snuff” with Reynolds and Lively on the film’s set.

Whoa!

The Daily News also writes, “It wasn’t until the end of last month, when Reynolds returned to the city from Los Angeles, that Johansson told him she wanted a divorce.”

According to a so-called “source” for the paper, “Reynolds wasn’t ready [to get a divorce] and told her they ‘should avoid it at all costs.’”

So, did Reynolds stray with Lively?

Absolutely NOT.

“There was no cheating on either part,” says a source close to Reynolds and Johansson. And a source close to Lively assures Gossip Cop that talk of the “Gossip Girl” star and Reynolds ever hooking up is ”150 percent untrue.”

Additionally, contrary to the News‘ contention, our insider reveals “Ryan was the one to pull the plug” on the marriage, though ultimately it was “a mutual decision.”

While less sexy than allegations of infidelity, the real reason Johansson and Reynolds split, says our impeccable source, was that “they grew apart because of distance.”

In Touch claims Scott Disick proposed to Kourtney Kardashian in early November.

“Scott and Kourtney got engaged,” says a so-called “Kardashian family insider,” who explains, “it’s just about money.”

[Pause]

Would this be the same “insider” who told In Touch Kim Kardashian was dating Michael Copon? (Wrong)

Or the “insider” who told the tab (that supposedly “engaged”) Kourtney is having a “revenge romance” with a model named Leandro Magno? (Wrong)

Either way, the latest In Touch tale claims that the alleged engagement is “more of a business opportunity than true love. Scott and Kourtney are going to make a fortune off their wedding – E! has already offered more than $500,000 for the wedding rights, and that is only one of the many deals.”

According to the mag’s source, in addition to the marrying-for-money scheme, Kourtney is onboard because “she did not want Mason to have unmarried parents. So she approached Scott and basically said, ‘Either we get married or you are out of the family and off the show.”

In Touch notes even Scott’s nemesis, Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner, is for the nuptials.

“Kris has resigned herself to the fact that Scott’s not going anywhere, so she may as well profit from it.”

So, here’s what Gossip Cop knows: A source who’s in business with the Kardashians says it’s not true, and a Disick buddy says he hasn’t heard of any engagement either.

While it’s not unheard of for two parents to actually get married, right now Disick and Kardashian are NOT engaged.

Lindsay Lohan is out of Inferno, the film about real-life porn star  Linda Lovelace.

“We are withdrawing our offer from Lindsay ,” director Matthew Wilder told E!

It’s not personal, though.

“We have stuck by Lindsay very patiently for a long time with a lot of love and support,” Wilder said of the actress who, by all accounts is doing well with her recovery at the Betty Ford Center.

“Ultimately, the impossibility of insuring her, and some other issues,” explained Wilder, “have made it impossible for us to go forward.”

Although the filmmaker said it was the production’s decision to drop Lohan, a source close to the actress tells Gossip Cop it was Lohan’s choice.

“Lindsay’s main concern right now is working on herself,” said our source.

Nevertheless, a replacement will be announced on Monday.

A rumor is circulating that has Demi Lovato planning to exit rehab in time for Thanksgiving.

According to an E! source, the starlet is “getting better” and hoping to be home for the holiday.

The report is not true.

Her rep tells Gossip Cop in a statement, “Recent reports stating that Demi Lovato will be out of treatment by Thanksgiving are false.”

“While she would of course love to be home for the holidays, she remains committed first and foremost to her treatment. Demi has made tremendous progress to date, but understands that she has more work to do.”

As we reported, Lovato entered a treatment facility earlier this month for “emotional and physical issues.”

Her hit TV series “Sonny With a Chance” has already announced plans to adjust the show in her absence.

We were so busy laughing about Perez Hilton‘s baffling movie goof yesterday (and, really, that one deserves a second look), we failed to point out an even sloppier mess on the blogger’s site.

At 5:40 p.m., Perez reported LeAnn Rimes‘ announcement that she and Eddie Cibrian were NOT engaged despite an erroneous E! report.

He quoted Rimes’ lengthy Twitter denial and even scrawled a “Just Kidding!” on the couple’s photo.

Then, apparently, Perez took a quick nap that erased his short-term memory.

Because just 90 minutes after writing the story about Rimes and Cibrian not being engaged, the blogger posted about Cibrian ex Brandi Glanville being “happy” that Rimes and Cibrian were engaged.

“Today, after hearing the news that Eddie intends to make a (sic) honest woman out of LeAnn,” observed Perez from his haze, Glanville had responded positively.

Amazing.

E! does not stand for “engaged.”

Although E! claimed it had credible sources who were saying LeAnn Rimes and her recently divorced boyfriend Eddie Cibrian had gotten engaged, and that Cibrian “is going to make an honest woman” out of her, the couple is not set to tie the knot anytime soon.

Rimes took to Twitter to debunk the rumor.

She wrote: “Ok, I’ve about had it with the lack of ‘reporting’ with E News. The fact that our ‘engagement’ has spread so furiously over the past 24 hours off of an E News article that is 150% untrue just shows you the lack of credible ‘sources’ they seem to find and build a story around… Even though this is positive ‘news’ its not true.”

She did, however, go on to note, “Eddie and I are beyond happy and in love and look forward to one day sharing such private news with you all and hopefully will be able to enjoy it privately and share it with our family and friend’s before the world knows (contrary to reports on our intentions). So, nothing has been ‘exclusively’ broken E News except maybe some of your credibility.”

After mocking E! by writing, “I’M PREGNANT TOO!!!” the singer-actress, added, “Thanks to all of our wonderful fans for the premature congats, but for now, let’s all be happy we’re happy and still and will remain together! Eddie and I felt we couldn’t let this rumor go on any longer.”

When Rimes and Cibrian actually get engaged, Gossip Cop will give it a “10.”

Demi Lovato has clearly been battling a number of demons.

And while it’s true she’s struggling with several “emotional and physical issues,” including eating disorders, bullying and cutting, there have been a few inaccurate reports about her.

The usually facts-based E! earlier today quoted a source saying that after a fight with a backup dancer in the Peru airport, “The [Jonases'] dad basically said right there, ‘That’s it. You’re going home.’”

E! also reported Lovato “made verbal threats to Joe‘s new squeeze, Ashley Green (sic), who was at the airport as well.”

Here are a few things Gossip Cop has learned from a source close to the situation.

The Jonas’ dad never told Lovato she’s “going home.” “No one kicked her off the tour,” says our source, explaining that it was a decision the singer made after hitting rock bottom.

And there were never any “verbal threats” directed at Greene, assures our insider.

Sadly, though, we’re told in the next few days what will emerge is that Lovato has “larger issues,” mental and otherwise.

According to the facts-challenged blog, “There may actually be trouble in paradise for Hank Baskett and Kendra Wilkinson.”

“We asked a source close to the Baskett-Wilkinson family if the couple was in trouble, and the answer was a loud yes. ‘Its (sic) a no brainer,’” writes the brainless HollywoodLife.

Well, Gossip Cop looked into this, and two sources who work closely with Wilkinson tell us the only “trouble”… is with HollywoodLife’s reporting.

One source who’s in contact with her on a day-to-day basis tells Gossip Cop, “Everything is fine” between the Playboy playmate and her football star husband.

And a second source connected to her E! show “Kendra” calls the HollywoodLife piece, “Absolutely 1,000 percent false,” adding, Wilkinson and Basket are “very much a couple” and “are great.”

Once again, HollywoodLife has “trouble” with reality – and reality stars.

We’re told Meatloaf, Oscar winner Marlee Matlin and Playboy’s “Playmate of the Year” Hope Dworaczyk, who also starred on the E! show, “The Girls Next Door,” will be on Donald Trump‘s reality contest show.

The aforementioned celebrities will join other reported “Apprentice” hopefuls, including Star Jones, Mark McGrath, La Toya Jackson, Lil Jon, Jose Conseco, Niki Taylor, and “Survivor” nudist/winner Richard Hatch.

The new “Celebrity Apprentice” season is scheduled to air in early 2011.

Maybe it’s because it’s about publicists – or maybe it’s because it’s just fun to watch – but Gossip Cop gets a kick out of watching “The Spin Crowd,” which is produced by Kim Kardashian.

And we’re told the finale, airing this Sunday, is a classic.

Basically, Simon Huck, who works for Command PR, breaks down in tears after asking the agency’s owner, Jonathan Cheban, to be made a partner in the company – all this while the women in the office are laughing hysterically.

Trust us, you won’t want to miss this.

“The Spin Crowd” has been a total success for Kardashian and her friend Cheban. The show, which airs right after “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” has garnered solid ratings.

Exactly two weeks ago, 50 Cent tweeted, “I love me some chelsea handler.”

But is it reciprocal?

Though neither side is saying anything, it certainly appears there’s a budding something.

Two nights ago, Chelsea Handler and 50 Cent looked “cozy,” said a spywitness at the New Orleans jazz bar Blue Nile. They were also spotted earlier at another New Orleans place called Mimi’s.

And possibly in response to 50 Cent’s tweet, “If you a man and your over 25 and you don’t eat pu**y just kill your self,” Handler tweeted a photo of a black doll “performing” oral sex on a blonde doll with the caption, “Oh, dear.”

Gossip Cop will continue investigating, but for the time being, a rep for the E! talk show host says, “She is saving her comments for her own show.”

First Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian took Miami. Now Kourtney and Kim are taking New York.

Today, the Kardashians officially announced their new E! show, “Kourtney and Kim Take New York,” which will shoot in the Big Apple for the next two months.

And joining them, of course, are Kourtney’s son, Mason, and the little boy’s dad, Scott Disick.

The sisters are in New York to open a new DASH store, “and make sure everything [is] running smoothly,” blogged Kim, adding, “I could not be more excited to spend the next couple of months in one of my favorite cities!”

Kourtney similarly blogged, “So excited for some fall in the Big Apple. No place better.”

“Kourtney and Kim Take New York” debuts in January 2011.

The most awkward “American Idol” audition in history might take place later this month.

Jennifer Lopez‘s ex-husband, Ojani Noa, will stand in line for the chance to perform for her and the rest of the judging panel.

Seriously.

Noa’s manager Ed Meyer confirms the plan to Gossip Cop, and further claims that Radar and E! will be on hand. He added TMZ will also have a live stream of the humiliation, er, audition.

“He’s a good singer,” Meyer says of Noa, who was Lopez’s first husband in the late 1990s.

As for the small matter of Noa’s eligibility – he’s eight years older than the upper age limit – Meyer doesn’t seem concerned.

“They let that ‘Pants on the Ground’ guy go on.”

So, what song will he sing?

A Lopez tune, of course, which Meyer says will be determined by “blogs.”
