During his Wednesday spot on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” co-star Jeff Daniels passed along some encouraging news.

Could Dumb and Dumber 2 be on the way?

A sequel to the 1994 Jim Carrey-Jeff Daniels comedy classic — with the original stars — appears to be very much in development.

Rumors of idiot pals Harry and Lloyd’s return to the big screen (not counting faux 2003 prequel Dumb and Dumberer) have been swirling for some time, but over the weekend co-director Peter Farrelly revealed that a sequel might finally happen.
