Nicolas Cage insists he’s not a vampire.

The actor visited “The Late Show with David Letterman” on Thursday, and the host brought up the infamous Civil War-era photo of a man who (kind of) looks like Cage – which has prompted many on the Internet to speculate that Cage is, in fact, an ageless vampire.

(That’s the most logical explanation.)

Cage, however, refused to admit it, protesting, “I don’t drink blood, and last time I looked in the mirror, I had a reflection.”

Hmm…

Howard Stern is not backing down from his own feud with Jay Leno.

The King of All Media, who years ago sided with David Letterman in the so-called Late Night Wars, was puzzled recently when Letterman (seemingly) called a truce.

Appearing on Wednesday’s “Late Show,” Stern mentioned that he told NBC executives he refuses to promote his new “America’s Got Talent” gig on Leno’s show, and vowed once again never to appear with Letterman’s longtime rival.

The segment includes Stern comparing Letterman to Rihanna, Letterman comparing Leno to Charles Manson, and then doing his famous high-voiced “Leno” impersonation.

Tina Fey takes the blame for Alec Baldwin’s incident on an American Airlines flight last month.

While appearing on Thursday’s “Late Show,” the “30 Rock” creator and star told David Letterman that she introduced Baldwin to the game “Words With Friends.”

Fey said, “Alec, bless his heart, he had some trouble on the plane a couple of weeks ago,” jokingly adding, “My first reaction, the thing I was upset about was last spring… I said to him, ‘Hey, there’s this really fun game called… Words With Friends.’”

She also confirmed that Baldwin would return to “30 Rock” next season “if there is a seventh season and NBC is still a thing.”

Barbara Walters, who named the Kardashian sisters among 2011′s “Most Fascinating People,” now seems a little miffed with the famous family.

Walters revealed on “The Late Show with David Letterman” Tuesday that she interviewed Kim, Kourtney and Khloe earlier in the fall and specifically asked if anything momentous would be happening in the coming months.

The women insisted Walters was safe to do the interview then because nothing was going to change.

“Then Kim gets [divorced]. Then Kourtney gets pregnant. Then Khloe’s moving to Dallas,” Walters exclaimed to Letterman. “You cannot trust the Kardashians.”

Walters echoed her comments Wednesday on “The View,” noting that in hindsight, the only hint of possible trouble to come was the sisters agreeing Kim is the worst at dealing with men.

Scarlett Johansson visited “The Late Show with David Letterman” on Monday, and the two discussed her hacked, leaked naked pictures.

“Somebody stole my nudie photos… they were out there for the world to see,” said the actress.

She added, “It was quite shocking… it was extremely creepy.”

Johansson described to Letterman how disturbing it was to have her email privacy compromised.

“It meant the guy was really there constantly… sitting there all pasty and sweaty and pervy and weird,” she explained.

Rosie O’Donnell was not too happy with David Letterman making a joke at her expense during his monologue on “The Late Show” earlier this week.

So she fired back on her own program.

On Tuesday, Letterman made a crack about O’Donnell while discussing her new engagement to Michelle Rounds.

He joked, “The woman she is marrying, her fiancee, was driving and her car broke down. And guess what happened? Rosie pulls up right behind her in her tow truck.”

The quip was a smug (if not particularly funny) jibe at O’Donnell’s sexuality.

After showing the clip on “The Rosie Show” airing on Friday, O’Donnell hit Letterman where it hurts.

She rhetorically asks Letterman, “Why? I don’t remember making fun of you when you had sex with all your interns!”

O’Donnell then presented her Top Five list of reasons she won’t do Letterman’s program, among them: “Dave, when you had that heart surgery, you shouldn’t have told the doctors to take out that whole thing.”

Justin Bieber can “smell a weasel” when it comes to Mariah Yeater‘s baby daddy allegations.

On Wednesday’s “Late Show,” David Letterman told the singer that the accusations made him “see red” and “so angry” because he could “smell a weasel.”

Bieber agreed, saying, “I think I can smell a weasel, too, a little bit.”

That aside, the pop star understands that being in the spotlight is going to lead to these types of false claims.

“People are going to say whatever,” he observes.

Bieber also told Letterman about taking his paternity test, which, apparently, required neither nudity nor anesthesia.

In a piece titled, “Katie Holmes vs. Noel Gallagher,” Perez Hilton writes, “When Noel Gallagher bumped into Katie Holmes last Thursday, he had no idea how camera shy she was.”

The blogger explains the Oasis frontman was with a pal, who was filming material for Gallagher’s website, when they crossed paths with Holmes at “Late Show with David Letterman,” where they were both guests.

Perez then quotes Gallagher, who posted on his site: “We literally bumped into that top Scientologist Katie Holmes on the way into the studio. We came out of the lift [elevator] and BANG, there she was…. My mate… was doing a bit of filming for my website and managed to capture the moment. She did look a bit miffed… but there was no need to send one of her people over to demand the video be deleted!!!! Un-f**kin’-believable.”

“Sorry Noel,” editorializes Perez, “but we’re not surprised at all with this. Katie only films for money.”

Actually, Perez and Gallagher should be sorry, because they’re both WRONG.

Holmes had NOTHING to do with the footage being deleted.

A Letterman insider explains to Gossip Cop that it was one of the show’s staffers who asked that the video be erased because it’s “standard policy not to shoot guests backstage,” especially in certain prohibited areas.

Maybe Gallagher should make sure his inaccurate and mean-spirited blog post is deleted.

The Texas governor appeared on “The Late Show with David Letterman” to read a list of Top Ten of “excuses” for his brain freezing up at a critical moment, and, wouldn’t you know it, Justin Bieber is involved.

While Mariah Yeater‘s baby daddy allegations against The Biebs are serious, that hasn’t stopped Bieber paternity jokes from infiltrating everything from presidential politics to country music parodies.

Regis Philbin says goodbye to “Live with Regis and Kelly” on November 18, and during his last week on the air he’s going to get a sendoff from some of his “favorite guests and friends.”

Among those booked on Philbin’s final week are Jimmy Fallon and Don Rickles (November 14), Donald Trump (November 15), David Letterman (November 16), and his former co-host Kathie Lee Gifford (November 17).

The final shows will also feature musical performances from Tony Bennett, Josh Groban, and Bret Michaels.

Philbin’s last day on the air will be a look-back at his nearly three decades hosting the hit morning show, along with a few surprises.

Kim Kardashian‘s brief marriage to Kris Humphries has been grist for the late night talk show hosts night after night and night.

This evening was no different.

Jay Leno, David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel, and Jimmy Fallon again took more shots at the reality star’s 72 day union.

Highlights included…

LENO

* Leno brought up the rumors that Kardashian is “actually still in love with the [Miami] Dolphins’ Reggie Bush.” He then noted it would be smart for Bush to marry her because, “as a Dolphin, that’s the only way he’s gonna get a ring this year.”

* He also mentioned that “New Girl” star Zooey Deschanel was geting divorced after only two years, “to which Kim said ,’Show off.’”

LETTERMAN

* Letterman asked, “Whatever happened to staying together for the sake of… the reality show?”

* The talk show host said Kim’s mom stressed her daughter’s marriage was not a sham, “It was an honest to goodness publicity stunt.”

* He even brought  up how Lindsay Lohan has been in and out of jail and rehab over and over, and that “she needs to find the right guy and settle down… for 72 days.”

KIMMEL

* Kimmel asked that everyone “take a moment of silence and bow our heads” because Kim Kardashian “unfollowed” Kris Humphries on Twitter.

* He followed that up by pointing out, ”During that moment of silence the Kardashians earned $80,000.”

FALLON

* Fallon kicked off his show by saying that President Obama just “went to the G20 summit to give Europe advice on its debt crisis… That’s like J. Lo getting marriage advice from Kim Kardashian.”

At the rate the late night talk show hosts are going, they’ll be telling Kardashian jokes for far longer than her marriage lasted.

Letterman

* Letterman noted that when Regis Philbin “steps aside they’re going to try out replacements… It’s the same thing Kim Kardashian will be doing now.”

* Of the marriage, he said, “Lasted 72 days? …I’ve had Viagra side effects that have lasted longer.”

Kimmel

* After also commenting how Kim and Kris were only married for 72 days, Kimmel said, “I really thought those two were gonna make it to, um… to Thanksgiving.”

* Kimmel said some fans felt betrayed, and now think the couple’s marriage was a fake. He then pointed out that her special was called “‘Kim and Kris’ Fairy Tale Wedding’… Key words being ‘fairy tale’… Do we also believe that ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ was real?”

Fallon

* Fallon mentioned first that a judge on Wednesday “sentenced Lindsay Lohan to 30 days in jail for violating her probation… Or, as Kim Kardashian put it, ’30 days? That’s like four marriages.’”

* He also said Kardashian claimed her decision to get married had nothing to do with publicity and that she said, “If you don’t believe me, just talk to my publicist.”

Just because Kim Kardashian announced she was divorcing Kris Humphries after 72 days on Monday, it doesn’t mean the late night comedians were done with her after just one night of mocking her.

Jay Leno, David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel, and Jimmy Fallon still took more shots at the reality star’s quickie marriage.

* “I like shaking hands with the people in the front row [of the audience]… You share a brief moment… You have a few seconds of physical contact, then it’s over… kind of like a Kardashian wedding.”

* Leno noted that one of the problems was that Humphries wanted to live in Minnesota and Kardashian didn’t. He said during winters in Minnesota, “You free your a** off, and in Kim’s case that could be fatal.”

* After mentioning how Humphries had only been married for 72 days to Kardashian, Letterman said, “He’s being replaced by Ashton Kutcher.”

* There was also a clip shown, calling all athletes to the “Kim Kardashian Husband Draft.”

The Kim Kardashian-Kris Humphries divorce drama did not go unnoticed by late-night TV hosts on Monday (shocking!), with David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel, Jay Leno and other comedians taking shots at the couple.

Highlights included…

Leno:

* “To their credit, they did try 20 minutes of counseling.”

* “Kim is handling it well. She says she plans to put him behind her, which ironically is what got them together.”

Letterman:

* “They started bickering at the altar… now they’re fighting over custody of the cake.”

* “They’re planning a lavish divorce at the Laguna Niguel Ritz-Carlton with 3,000 guests.”

* “Kim said it’s not really a divorce, it’s just part of a five-player trade.”

But the jab of the night might have come from Kimmel, who presented a fake E! promo for a divorce special called “Kim and Kris Kall It Kwits” that felt a little too plausible given the reality television landscape.

IndyCar driver Dan Wheldon died at the age of 33 on Sunday after a massive 15-car crash at the Las Vegas Indy 300.

He was a two-time Indianapolis 500 winner, and after Wheldon’s second victory last May at the legendary race, he was a guest on “Late Show with David Letterman.”

It’s easy to tell from Wheldon’s visit why he was a star in and out of racing circles.

Wheldon charmingly takes it when Letterman, himself a racing enthusiast, pokes fun of him.

Sadly, at the end of the segment, Wheldon discusses safety additions to a new race car parked outside of Letterman’s studio, which he was to drive (as the back fender is marked) in 2012.

Bill Clinton was a guest on “Late Show with David Letterman,” and while discussing the disparity between the wealthy and less fortunate, the talk show host said he would go after the rich and have them do their “fair share” to help.

Letterman explained, “I’m always looking to blame somebody,” adding, “Isn’t that human nature?”

The former president took issue, and said, “One of the best things about Americans is that we don’t really resent other people’s success,” prompting Letterman to shoot back, “What about Leno?”

Whoa!

As you’ll recall, Tracy Morgan went off on an anti-gay rant in Nashville last June.

He then apologized, and in an exclusive statement to Gossip Cop said, “I want to apologize to my fans and the gay & lesbian community for my choice of words at my recent stand-up act in Nashville… this clearly went too far and was not funny in any context.”

Morgan even met with homeless, gay teens, and later returned to Nashville to personally say he was sorry.

While in Nashville, Morgan said, “I want to apologize to my friends, my family and my fans, and everyone in every community who was offended… From the bottom of my heart… I apologize.”

But judging from his appearance on “Late Show with David Letterman” on Monday, the “30 Rock” star now believes it was just all a “big misunderstanding.”

Though the talk show host gave Morgan every opportunity to again say he was “sorry,” the comedian didn’t take the bait.

Morgan claimed he couldn’t even recall what he said to offend the Nashville audience. The comedian explained, “I can’t remember… that was maybe 50 shows ago.

British rapper Tinie Tempah bought the first pair of Marty McFly’s futuristic Nike Air Mag sneakers for $37,500 at auction last night in Los Angeles.

Nike is selling 1,500 pairs of the special shoes (as seen in Back to the Future II‘s version of 2015) to benefit Michael J. Fox‘s foundation.

As Fox told David Letterman during a “Late Show” appearance promoting the fundraiser (video below), the insanely cool item “brings together three populations of major Joneses – the sneaker-heads, the Back to the Future people… and the people in the Parkinson’s community who have an interest in research.”

Meanwhile, shoe lover Tempah just scored himself some pretty slick kicks.

David Letterman isn’t backing down from the jihadist threats against him.

In fact, he devotes his entire monologue and Top Ten list on tonight’s “Late Show” to the subject.

Tonight is the first time Letterman has taped a new program since death threats against him were posted on Shumukh-al-Islam, which frequently carries messages from Al Qaeda and its supporters.

A user identified as Umar al-Basrawi took offense to Letterman making light of the death of Ilyas Kashmiri, an Al Qaeda operative who was taken out by air strike.

While discussing Kashmiri’s killing on his show, Letterman drew his hand across his neck.

The al-Basrawi message reads, “Is there not amongst you a Sayyid Nosair al-Masri (may Allah release him) to cut the tongue of this lowly Jew and shut it forever,” apparently in admiration for a man tied to the 1990 murder of an Israeli politician and the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

“[Letterman] showed his evil nature and deep hatred for Islam and Muslims… We ask Allah to paralyze his tongue and grant the sincere monotheists his neck.”

Letterman, who is not Jewish, apparently has no plans to hold his tongue.

David Letterman is the target of online jihadists for joking about the death of an Al-Qaeda member.

The talk show host was threatened on the site Shumukh-al-Islam, which frequently posts messages from the terrorist network and its supporters, according to the SITE Intelligence Group.

A poster identified as Umar al-Basrawi took offense to a moment on Letterman’s program when he referred to the air strike death of Ilyas Kashmiri by drawing his hand across his neck.

The message reads, “Is there not amongst you a Sayyid Nosair al-Masri (may Allah release him) to cut the tongue of this lowly Jew and shut it forever,” apparently in admiration for a man tied to the 1990 murder of an Israeli politician and the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

“[Letterman] showed his evil nature and deep hatred for Islam and Muslims… We ask Allah to paralyze his tongue and grant the sincere monotheists his neck.”

Letterman, who is not Jewish, has not commented on the matter.

“Emma Watson is caught in a downward spiral of partying because she’s so distraught over the end of the Harry Potter franchise,” reports Star magazine.

The mag says Watson was celebrating after the London premiere of Harry Potter and the Dealthy Hallows: Part 2 on July 7, and quotes a supposed “insider” as saying, “Emma was out of control. She was dancing rowdily one minute and then sobbing on a crew member’s shoulder the next.”

The so-called “source” explains, “The end of Harry Potter is having an effect on her. She always knew she would have to face this one day, which is why she enrolled at Brown University,” adding, “Unfortunately, the prospect of getting a college education isn’t helping her anxiety.”

The tabloid also says Watson “made a big scene when she appeared on the ‘Late Show with David Letterman‘ on July 11.”

“It made for really uncomfortable viewing,” says the alleged “insider,” noting, “All [Letterman] did was ask her if she ever drank, and she laughed like a hyena and then admitted that one time she had gotten drunk.”

The source adds, “Everyone’s worried she’s having a meltdown” because she fears “no one will cast her in another role.”

Hold up.

Watson has already been cast in another role – she’s starring in The Perks of Being a Wallflower - which Star would know had it paid attention.

And in no way did she “make a scene” on Letterman. She was charming and humble, and said she wasn’t much of a party animal and had only been drunk once.

Also, Watson enrolled at Brown because she wanted an education and “loves studying pretty much more than anything,” as she’s said in the past.

Everything in the story is entirely made up and FALSE.

Watson’s rep confirms to Gossip Cop, ”This is a ridiculous story and in no way true.”

Once again, it’s Star that’s “having a meltdown.”

To promote Cowboys & Aliens on “The Late Show with David Letterman,” Harrison Ford and the host rode horses through the streets of Manhattan.

Back in the studio, Letterman asked Ford about injuries sustained in earlier rides… and then rather vigorously inspected a scar on Ford’s head.

It was a very funny moment, made even better when the manhandled Ford joked, “I’m circumcised, also!”

For the second time in less than a week, David Letterman‘s Ed Sullivan Theater has been vandalized.

Alvin Moore smashed the theater’s doors on Broadway with a metal newspaper box early this morning, just days after an intoxicated actor named James Whittemore was busted for breaking into the entrance.

After being tackled by a security guard, Moore was given medical attention for a head wound and then charged with third-degree criminal mischief and menacing.

He has a long arrest record in his home state of Florida.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:00 a.m. this morning. Witnesses say Moore had been banging on the glass before throwing a red amNewYork newspaper dispenser through the doors.

Letterman joked about the Whittemore vandalism on the air. We imagine he’ll have something to say about the copycat, too.

David Letterman‘s studio was broken into early this morning.

A man identified as James Whittemore was arrested at around 7 a.m. after allegedly breaking into the historic Ed Sullivan Theater, where Letterman tapes his “Late Show,” says the NYPD.

Whittemore, who was drunk, was arrested in the theater’s lobby and charged with burglary and criminal mischief after having broken the theater’s front doors.

The theater was closed at the time.

The police didn’t know if the alleged break-in was specifically related to the talk show host.

David Letterman was talking about children with Julia Roberts on the “Late Show” when he mentioned, “One of my sadnesses in life is that my son does not have a brother or a sister — older or younger.”

The audience interrupted his conversation with Roberts by giving a collective “Awww!”  - which prompted the talk show host to salute them a double flip-off.

Justin Bieber stopped by “Late Show with David Letterman” last night, and the talk show host had fun with the young superstar, who presented the evening’s “Top Ten” list.

Letterman began by saying, “He’s just a kid, come on… Look at this,” before adding, “Seriously, quit throwing the paper on the lawn.”

The host went on to crack, “He has no idea who I am,” and asked Bieber, “You don’t stay up this late, do you?”

Bieber then presented the “Top Ten Little-Known Facts About Justin Bieber.”

Cameron Diaz visited the “Late Show with David Letterman” last night to promote her new movie Bad Teacher, and shared the “exclusive” story behind her infamous Alex Rodriguez popcorn-feeding incident at this past year’s Super Bowl.

Diaz says right before she was caught on-camera feeding her boyfriend the snack, A-Rod reached over to grab some of her last few kernels, and she greedily swatted his hand away.

The actress says she then felt bad, telling the Yankee, “I love you too much. I’m gonna give it to you,” and fed him popcorn while, unbeknownst to them cameras were catching the intimate moment on tape.

David Letterman accused Donald Trump of racism during last night’s “Late Show,” taking Trump to task for the President Obama birth certificate controversy.

During an interview with guest Dr. Phil, who’s friendly with Trump, Letterman suggested that Trump’s recent implication that Obama only got into Columbia and Harvard because he’s black is when things stopped being funny.

“It’s all fun, it’s all a circus, it’s all a rodeo – until it starts to smack of racism,” said Letterman.

When the host asked Dr. Phil whether he considered Trump a racist, the guest replied quickly, “I do not,” explaining that Trump often just doesn’t think before he speaks.

Letterman didn’t seem so sure.

“If he comes back on this show, and I am not sure we want him back on this show under these circumstances, he ought to be prepared to apologize just for that kind of behavior.”

Courteney Cox appeared on “The Late Show with David Letterman” to promote Scream 4… and talk about David Arquette.

The actress confirmed a story her estranged husband told Howard Stern about the former couple’s recent time together in Disney World.

It seems Arquette tried to initiate some intimacy on the trip, but Cox wasn’t having it.

“He did try to hit on me,” she tells Letterman. “He hit pretty hard, and I said, ‘You don’t have a fast pass right now. Not for that ride!’”
