The actual box office figures for “Eclipse” are slightly higher than the estimates provided until this hour.

According to Summit, the movie’s actual four-day North American (Friday through Monday) haul at 4,468 locations was $83.6 million.

The final numbers are in, and “Avatar” raked in $54.4 million over the four-day Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend, bringing its domestic total to $504.9 million. Whoa!

The new trailer for “Inception,” the highly anticipated film from “The Dark Knight” director Christopher Nolan, has just come online. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio, whose rumored weight loss (or was it gain?) for the role led to one of Gossip Cop’s favorite lines of the year.

Gossip Cop would like to wish Stephenie Meyer, author of the “Twilight Saga,” a very happy birthday! Meyer is blowing out 36 candles today. And while Gossip Cop has blown out far more than 36 Twilight-related rumors, we thought we’d pick a few stories to share on Meyer’s big day, because, hey, it can’t be easy having a December 24 birthday! Some are terrible, some are true, but all helped to make 2009 a huge – huge! – year for both Meyer and her blockbuster series.
