Former TV star George Clooney will pick up an award at the Emmys on August 29.

Clooney, who has worked on behalf of those affected by Hurricane Katrina and has raised awareness about the atrocities in Darfur, is set receive the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award for his “Hope for Haiti” telethon, which is nominated for an Emmy award.
