Justin Bieber has been “dumped” by Selena Gomez, reports the Daily Star, spinning an old rumor from In Touch that claimed Gomez caught him texting his “Baby” video co-star Jasmine Villegas.

According to a supposed “source” for the British tab, Gomez was “furious” when she discovered the texts, and “doesn’t feel Justin is quite mature enough yet to be in a long-term, stable relationship.”

“She’s in the market for someone a little older and more worldly-wise,” adds the alleged “source,” who notes that Gomez and 25-year-old Shia LaBeouf were spotted “cozying up” and “flirting outrageously” at a recent premiere in L.A.

Of course, the paper doesn’t know at which premiere this alleged canoodling occurred, or even when it supposedly took place.

That’s because it NEVER happened.

Regardless, Bieber and Gomez are still happily together, and were spotted just a few days ago having a blast at Hershey Park in Pennsylvania, where Gomez was performing a concert for her “We Own the Night” tour.

Additionally, a source close to Bieber assures Gossip Cop that the Daily Star story is completely made up.

Oops.

Charlie Sheen will star on the upcoming season of “Celebrity Big Brother,” reports the Daily Star, which says the actor has signed a $10 million deal to appear on the U.K. reality show.

The outlet writes that Sheen is “due to jet to Britain in the next two weeks” to begin filming the series.

According to the paper, “Bosses are convinced Sheen’s ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ involvement will make it ‘unmissable TV.’”

A so-called television “insider” explains, “No one would want to miss the chance of seeing what he’s up to and hear the wacky things he’s saying. And let’s face it, he’s been saying some crazy stuff recently.”

But while it’s true that the former “Two and a Half Men” star’s appearance on the show would attract high ratings, everything else about this story is FALSE.

A rep for Sheen tells Gossip Cop that reports of him joining “Big Brother” are ”totally untrue.”

“Prince William and Kate Middleton have asked Beyonce and her husband rap legend Jay-Z to perform at their wedding reception,” writes PopEater, picking up a story from the Daily Star without bothering to fact-check.

The blog quotes an alleged “source,” who explains, “Both William and Kate are massive fans of Beyonce and Jay-Z. They really wanted to make their big day even more special and what better way than by getting pop royalty to perform at the party?”

William and his bride-to-be “both wanted to ditch traditions and make it more personal for them,” adds the so-called “source.”

PopEater further reports it’s “highly likely” Beyonce and Jay-Z have taken up the Royals’ offer since the singers are currently in Europe, where Beyonce’s promoting her new single.

“The palace has refused to neither confirm nor deny whether Beyonce and Jay-Z have accepted the invitation to perform,” states PopEater.

That’s strange, because when Gossip Cop called Buckingham Palace, we were told quite frankly, “They are not performing.”

Whoops.

“Victoria Beckham Set For Nude Shot,” reads a Daily Star headline.

The tab claims “Victoria Beckham is to copy Demi Moore with a naked photoshoot,” referring to Moore’s famous Vanity Fair cover on which she posed in the buff while pregnant.

According to the Daily Star, Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour is “desperate to do the pic.”

Actually, it sounds like the newspaper is desperate for a scoop – or attention.

A source close to Beckham assures Gossip Cop the report is ”not true.”

For Kate Middleton and Prince William, all you need is love… and a Beatle.

According to a Daily Star report picked up everywhere, the couple has selected Paul McCartney as “their number one choice to perform” at the royal wedding on April 29.

“They can’t think of anyone more perfect to kick off proceedings,” claims the paper’s source.

That may be – but Gossip Cop looked into it, and the music legend has not officially signed on to sing for Kate and William.

A rep for McCartney tells Gossip Cop it’s “nothing but rumor at present.”

Stay tuned for updates on whether the Westminster Abbey nuptials will be followed by an “Abbey Road” reception.

“Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were busted romping on a beach by police,” begins an eyebrow-raising article in the Daily Star.

According to the British tab, “The Twilight megastars were getting down and dirty on Brazil’s trendy Ipanema Beach in Rio De Janeiro when the boys in blue put a stop to their kinky antics.”

Uh, huh…

“The young lovers were getting sexy like any other couple would on the beach at night but police sent them packing with a stern verbal slapping,” says the paper’s so-called “source,” who adds, “It’s obviously hard for them to go anywhere alone… I think they were just trying to grab some romantic time.”

“They were laughing about it afterwards,” says the source, “but they both looked really embarrassed.”

Actually, only the Daily Star should be really embarrassed… by this article.

Notice how the story doesn’t mention any specifics, such as when this allegedly occurred?

That’s because… it never happened.

Nor does the premise even make sense.

If it’s “obviously hard for them to go anywhere alone,” and they were looking to “grab some romantic time,” then why would these two extremely private people opt for a public beach instead of say, a hotel?

Still, Gossip Cop checked not only with our Pattinson and Stewart sources, but we also made a few very expensive calls to the Policia Civil do Estado do Rio de Janeiro – and they didn’t know about this alleged incident either.

This story is, as they say in Brazil, “nao verdadeiro” (not true).

“‘X Factor’ supremo Simon Cowell has bedded up to 2,000 women, he has revealed,” claims the Daily Star.

Picking up a report from The Sunday Times‘ magazine, the site writes that the former “American Idol” judge supposedly shared that during “his ‘good times’ he had two women a week.”

And just when were those “good times”?

They “ran through the 80s and 90s, up to 20 years, which means he will have racked up the massive ‘magic number,’” the site concludes.

Seriously?!

We’re tired just doing… the math.

When asked for comment, Cowell’s rep told Gossip Cop that “the [Times] journalist seems to have a warped sense of the truth.”

Too bad The Times was wrong about Simon’s “good times.”

Is Megan Fox going from movies to motherhood?

Many outlets have picked up a story, originally in the Daily Star, claiming that Fox is so ready to become a mom, she and new husband Brian Austin Green are “already building a nursery at his Hollywood Hills mansion.”

The Transformers beauty supposedly “told pals she can’t wait to have a baby.”

It actually seems like gossip sites can’t wait to make Fox a mom. Earlier this month, Star magazine went so far as to wrongly speculate that Fox was pregnant. That rumor was wrong, and so is this one.

A rep for the actress tells Gossip Cop the nursery story is “not true.”

Is Madonna planning to commemorate her birth by turning back the clock?

According to the Daily Star, the Queen of Pop is considering a small fortune worth of plastic surgery as a birthday gift to herself.

Among the purported procedures are an eye lift, a boob job, lip fillers and Lipo Sculpt, as well as laser treatments and Botox.

Projected cost: Somewhere in the neighborhood of $147,000.

“Madonna has been feeling her age since her divorce from Guy Ritchie in 2008,” a “source” tells the paper, later adding, “Her friends have recommended things to have done and she’s considering them as a little treat for turning 52 in August.”

A “pal” explains that she will spend the next year “overhauling herself completely.”

Maybe the Daily Star should consider an overhaul.

Because Madonna isn’t planning a major cosmetic offensive in August.

“Madonna is directing a movie all summer,” her rep tells Gossip Cop, confirming that there’s “no plastic surgery on her calendar.”

The notion that Madonna is going the Full Montag is “all fiction,” says the rep.

“George Clooney Bed Shocker,” blared a headline in the Daily Star, which went on to say, Clooney “has to have his special blanket with him too.”

Huh?

The tab claims an employee at the Kahala Hotel in Honolulu, where Clooney filmed The Descendants, said, “We had to lay it on top of his sheets when we turned down his bed… It looked a lot like a security blanket. George left it in his room when he checked out and we had to send it to his next address… He obviously can’t sleep without it.”

That’s a really funny story.

It’s also really not true.

Gossip Cop made the calls to check, and Clooney doesn’t sleep with a “blankie” — unless that’s his nickname for girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis.

“Jay-Z Bash Reportedly Refuses White Folk Admittance!!” is the title of another story that Perez Hilton was too busy to fact-check.

“Uh-oh!! This is NOT cool,” writes Perez before claiming Jay-Z ”BANNED white people from going in the VIP area” of a party he hosted.

Actually, what’s NOT cool is repeating allegations without looking into them.

Nevertheless, Perez, who blocks Gossip Cop on Twitter (because he’s afraid of us), goes on to note that after Jay-Z picked up a Brit Award for Best International Male Solo Artist, he threw a party at the Merah club in London, where “African Americans were reportedly let through to (sic) VIP no questions asked, [but] white people were refused admittance.”

So where did “Cop Blocker” Hilton come up with this?

These were comments made by a reporter in the U.K.’s Daily Star, specifically, “It was clear white people were not welcome in his VIP area. While the red rope was lifted for black guests to breeze through, let’s just say it stayed down if your face didn’t fit.”

The Daily Star‘s reporter neglected to mention a few facts that Gossip Cop found out after some investigation.

(1) About 40 percent of the guests in the VIP area were WHITE (there’s even video footage to back it up).

(2) While reporters from other newspapers were invited to Jay-Z’s party, the female reporter who claimed no white people were allowed was actually NOT invited to the party at all, says one of the organizers.

(3) Because that reporter wasn’t invited, she did NOT have the appropriate wristband that security needed to see in order to let her into the VIP area, which is why she – not every white person – was refused entrance.

Gossip Cop is told the reporter repeatedly tried to get into the VIP area, but when she wasn’t allowed in, “she left in a huff,” and had a few choice words for the door staff before leaving and later filing her “white people were not welcome” story.

You see, it was not so black and white after all.

Gossip Cop reached out to the reporter for a comment, but have yet to hear back from her.

Has Madonna‘s true love been right beneath her feet?

The Daily Star reported recently that Madonna had told designer Jimmy Choo buying a pair of his shoes “is more satisfying than having sex with a man.” “At least you know they are going to last forever!” the pop icon supposedly joked.

It’s an eye-catching, headline-ready comment, and one that tons of mainstream outlets picked up and ran.

Too bad there’s nothing to the shoes over sex remark.

“She absolutely never said it,” Madonna’s rep “flat” out told Gossip Cop.

Gossip Cop feels like a heel calling out Choo, but this “pumped up” endorsement didn’t happened.

“George Clooney went on a disastrous date with Madonna after she split with Guy Ritchie,” reports the Daily Star.

According to a so-called “friend” of Clooney’s, before dating Elisabetta Canalis, he took Madonna out: “He figured she is a smart, accomplished woman so why not give it a try?” But, said the pal, “it turned out really bad… She kept trying to make jokes that weren’t at all funny the entire time and didn’t want to have a real conversation.”

The supposed “friend,” adds, “He could not wait to get out of there.”

Wow, Madonna and George Clooney on a bad date is a really juicy story — except there are two minor flaws with this.

One, this “news” is more than a year old. And two, it’s totally not true. It never happened. Or, as a real friend of Clooney’s assured Gossip Cop, “It’s bulls***.”

Rihanna never ever said, “I could see myself in a relationship with a girl.”

Nevertheless, the quote was attributed to her, and rumors of her being a lesbian have exploded all over the Internet and onto the pages of numerous newspapers.

The Mirror, for instance, wrote: “Rihanna has revealed she is attracted to women – and would love a fling with Hollywood stunner Megan Fox.”

The article continued, “The Umbrella star – who was badly beaten-up by her ex boyfriend Chris Brown in February – said could see herself with a girlfriend in the future. The Barbadian singer said: ‘All humans are born with the ability to be attracted to both sexes. I mean, I could see myself in a relationship with a girl.’”

And websites like StarPulse similarly reported, under the headline “Rihanna Is Open To A Lesbian Romance,” that she “won’t rule out a same-sex romance,” having said, “All humans are born with the ability to be attracted to both sexes. I could see myself in a relationship with a girl.”

Again, the problem is Rihanna NEVER said those words – Megan Fox did.

In the original interview, upon which all this false information disseminated, Rihanna told the Daily Star – in response to whether she would like to break into acting — “I’d love to be an assassin. Either that or a lesbian. Maybe both! Hey, a gay assassin, there’s nothing hotter than that.”

And when asked who she would like to play opposite, “She purred: ‘Megan Fox – hands down. She’s yummy. She’s hot.’”

Here’s where the (sexual) confusion comes in…

The Daily Star then wrote that Fox “has never been shy about her penchant for… the ladies. She said: ‘All humans are born with the ability to be attracted to both sexes. I mean, I could see myself in a relationship with a girl.’”

Many outlets mistook the “She said” to mean that Rihanna uttered those words when, in fact, it was a quote Fox gave to the October 2008 issue of GQ, though, for full disclosure, the “Transformers” star also prefaced it with “I’m not a lesbian.”

While several outlets out there should be sorry for their wrongly reported stories, Gossip Cop would like to apologize to the guys out there whose TWO fantasies we crushed in one single post.

The sun rose in the east today, so it must be time for another wild Robert Pattinson romance rumor!

On Saturday it was Pattinson’s agent, Stephanie Ritz, who was alleged to be the new woman in his life. (Um, she wasn’t.)

Now it’s… (drum roll)… “X Factor” star Lucie Jones!

The Daily Star claims one of Pattinson’s sisters has arranged “a romantic rendezvous” between her superstar brother and 18-year-old Jones. (Because, as everyone knows, Pattinson has a very difficult time meeting women.)

According to the story, the “Twilight” heartthrob is a “huge fan” of Jones, who says, “His sister got in touch with me after seeing me on the show and asked if I wanted to come to dinner… a couple of weeks ago.” Jones couldn’t make dinner that night but says, “We are still in touch, though, and are going to go to dinner or something next week.”

Is it just Gossip Cop, or does this “romantic rendezvous” sound tenuous at best (and platonic)?

“I really, really fancy him,” Jones continues. “Kristen Stewart had better watch out!”

Gossip Cop can’t believe someone reported these quotes with a straight face and claimed a romance between Pattinson and his “X Factor” admirer.

“Twilight Star Robert Pattinson Signs TV Deal,” screams the headline of an article today from the Daily Star, which goes on to say, “Robert Pattinson will sink his fangs into one of the biggest contracts in Hollywood history with a $500 million Twilight television deal.”

Really?!

According to the article, the film “franchise is branching out into TV production – and bosses want heart-throb Rob to reprise his big-screen role as Edward Cullen.” The story claims he “could land as much as $1.5 million an episode in the deal which could kick in as early as next year.”

Seriously?!

Oh wait, there’s more…

“Kristen Stewart, Rob’s on-screen human love Bella Swan, is also wanted by chiefs at Summit Entertainment,” reports the Daily Star, adding “both would be free to work on the TV version almost immediately as they have already completed the third film in the series, The ­Twilight Saga: Eclipse.”

But how about the other films they’re slated to do?

More importantly, how about the accuracy of this story?

A rep for Summit told Gossip Cop exclusively that there is “no truth” to Pattinson signing a TV deal with Summit.

Like a veal parmigiana that comes back to haunt you, so too have casting rumors for Martin Scorsese’s planned biopic on Frank Sinatra.

According to reports, “Leonardo DiCaprio, George Clooney and Johnny Depp are slugging it out to play Frank Sinatra.” The stories basically all claim that Scorsese is pulling for DiCaprio, who he’s worked on a number of films, including “The Departed” and “Gangs of New York,” but the studio wants Depp, while Tina Sinatra, daughter of the legendary crooner, would like Clooney to play the part of Ol’ Bue Eyes.

So who’s it going to be?

It’s “way premature,” the director’s rep tells Gossip Cop, adding rather significantly, “Marty isn’t even thinking about casting yet. They don’t even have a draft of a script.”

So for the time being, fuggedaboutit… and when there’s news, Gossip Cop will let you know.

“Posh Is ‘Starving Herself’” reads an alarming headline from the Daily Star.

According to the paper, there are real “fears Posh is starving herself to death.” The report goes on to say that when Victoria Beckham was recently pictured “standing next to some of the world’s skinniest models at London Fashion Week… she even managed to make them look fat.”

And it’s not just others who are concerned, says the British tab. Beckham herself is reportedly “shocked to see how gaunt she looked.” The paper claims her husband David Beckham is “even considering asking her to drink protein shakes.”

OK, it’s true Victoria Beckham is thin, but the rest of the story is a fat lie. She is not “starving herself to death.” Her U.K. rep, who called these type of weight stories “provocative and misleading,” tells Gossip Cop, “Victoria is a happy, healthy, fit, working mother of 3 children and for anyone to suggest otherwise is irresponsible and incorrect.”

A number of papers and blogs picked up a story from the Daily Star which reported that Hong Kong singer and actress Leslie Loh is lining up Justin Timberlake and Snoop Dogg to appear in a film musical she’s producing. Loh told the Daily Star, “We are in talks with Snoop and Justin about a film . . . It’s a perfect marriage between movies and music and will suit them down to the ground.”

Not only did the blog Hollyscoop run the story, but it also noted that “Justin is set to host SNL once again on September 12^th with musical guest Ciara.”

Two things: First, Timberlake’s spokesperson confirmed to Gossip Cop that the casting story is absolutely incorrect since “there are no discussions regarding the film.” And second, while it’s true Timberlake can be seen again as the host of “Saturday Night Live” on September 12, the show is a repeat.
