Jennifer Aniston seems to be smitten with new man Justin Theroux, but Star magazine says her best friend Courteney Cox does not approve of the romance.

A supposed “source” for the mag claims, “Courteney has begged Jen to dump Justin” because she suspects he’ll cause her friend “another embarrassing heartbreak.”

The “insider” also says Cox can’t stand how Aniston how changed since she began dating her Wanderlust co-star.

“Jen has started swearing like a sailor, got a tattoo, is drinking a lot and even boasting about her sex life with Justin,” reveals the alleged source, who adds, “Courteney is shocked.”

Hmm…

If Cox is so against Aniston’s new man, then why would she spend time hanging out with the couple?

Also, a source close to Cox assures Gossip Cop the tab’s claims are “ridiculous,” and that the “Cougar Town” star has not begged Aniston to dump Theroux.

“How Courteney took Jen’s man,” reads a headline from Life & Style, which claims Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston are feuding over Cox’s “Cougar Town” co-star Josh Hopkins.

According to the tabloid, the former “Friends” stars’ bond is being “put to the test” after Aniston saw photos of Cox in St. Bart’s with Hopkins, whom she supposedly “hooked up” with last fall.

Cox’s alleged canoodling with Hopkins is a “blow to Jen’s ego since her relationship with him was so fresh,” claims the mag.

What “relationship”?

Aniston and Hopkins enjoyed a friendly meal when she was guest-starring on the show. That’s it.

Hopkins himself denied he and Aniston were anything more than friends.

There’s also that other thing… Hopkins and Cox  are similarly NOT romantically involved.

As Gossip Cop told you, Cox and Hopkins were in St. Bart’s with her daughter Coco and a group of friends. They are not dating.

Courteney Cox and her “Cougar Town” co-star Josh Hopkins were photographed together on the beach in St. Bart’s yesterday, leading to speculation that the two might be more than just co-workers.

Last fall, Hopkins was wrongly tied to a different “Friends” alum Jennifer Aniston. Meanwhile, every time Cox is seen with a male colleague, outlets immediately (and wrongly) claim they’re hooking up.

So is there any truth to talk of Cox and Hopkins getting romantic?

No.

A source close to the “Cougar Town” stars tells Gossip Cop they’re in St. Bart’s with Cox’s daughter Coco and other friends, and assures us they’re “not dating.”

Courteney Cox opens up about her separation from husband David Arquette in the April issue of Harper’s Bazaar, and it’s evident their relationship is still very much in limbo.

“We loved each other so much, and if anything I feel like we’ve been extremely successful at marriage,” says Cox. “If it doesn’t work out, I will have huge waves of pain about failing in that department.”

“But right now I don’t have that because I don’t know what the future holds and I guess because I have strong feelings for [Arquette].”

She says there was no single reason for the split, at one point explaining, ”I think every relationship has a point where you stop and reevaluate. Are you happy? Have you grown together or apart?”

It’s also obvious that she doesn’t blame Arquette’s erratic conduct for their problems.

“I’m not saying there wasn’t some crazy behavior,” admits Cox, “But if you know who David is, you know what his intentions are, how honest he is, and how big his heart is.”

The couple is chiefly interested in keeping life normal for six-year-old daughter Coco.

“She’s our number-one priority,” says Cox. “No matter what happens, she’ll be okay because she knows that she is completely safe, loved, and we’ll protect that more than anything in the world.”

As for dating other men, Cox claims she “has no desire right now.”

“I’m not saying never. It just seems weird. I don’t even know how that would happen or how you meet people.”

She also addresses the rumors (first debunked by Gossip Cop) that she and “Cougar Town” costar Brian Van Holt had a “sexy getaway” together.

“We were doing a scene out on a dock in Marina del Rey, and there were pictures of the two of us. As if that’s where I’m going to go to have a private moment,” jokes Cox. “How about the camera that was right there and all the cast members to the left that were completely cut out?”

Courteney Cox “may have lost a husband, but she gained a new bustline!” reports Star magazine.

According to the tabloid, Cox, who separated from David Arquette in October, “flaunted a much fuller chest in a skimpy bikini while filming her ABC comedy Cougar Town in Hawaii on March 1.”

The mag consulted a plastic surgeon who says that Cox “looks like she had a breast augmentation that took her from a B cup to a C cup,” and believes the actress, “has more upper breast fullness and cleavage” than she did in the past.

“Courteney’s latest squeeze and costar, Brian Van Holt, must like the new look,” Star adds cheekily, for “he was spotted going in and out of her hotel room during their stay in Oahu.”

So did “Friends” alum really augment her, um… friends?

No.

A source close to the star confirms to Gossip Cop that Cox did NOT recently get breast implants.

Oh, and one more thing – Cox is NOT dating Van Holt – as we’ve told you time and time again.

Once again, Star makes a boob of itself.

“Courteney Cox added fuel to the rumors that she’s dating her Cougar Town co-star Brian Van Holt when she jetted off to Oahu, Hawaii, with him and her daughter” on February 27, writes Life & Style.

The mag then notes that “their first big romantic trip together came just days after Courteney’s estranged husband, David Arquette, revealed on The Oprah Winfrey Show that he had suspected Courteney had cheated on him before they announced their separation last October.”

To the tab’s credit, it acknowledges that Arquette then told Oprah he was wrong to believe rumors of Cox cheating, and knows there’s zero truth to the stories.

That said, however, Life & Style, did omit one very important detail about Cox and Van Holt’s trip to Hawaii – it was for work.

The cast of  “Cougar Town” has been shooting in Hawaii for the past week, and pictures of Cox filming scenes with on-screen boyfriend Josh Hopkins have even been all over the internet.

If that’s not enough, a rep for Cox confirms to Gossip Cop that the Life & Style story is not true.

Too bad Life & Style was lei-zy with its Hawaii report.

Courteney Cox has enough going on in her life without needing Us Weekly to invent new drama.

The magazine claims Cox is “seething” and “pissed” after not being nominated for a Golden Globe.

According to an Us source, the “Cougar Town” actress “went off in front of everyone” on set after the Globe nominees were announced on December 14.

There are no further details, which is odd considering how “everyone” at the show saw Cox’s alleged blowup.

Of course, the real reason is – surprise! - there was no fit.

A source close to Cox tells Gossip Cop it’s a “ridiculous” story.

“It’s Courteney Cox‘s first Christmas without her estranged spouse of 11 years, David Arquette,” writes Star magazine. “But she’s not staying at home stewing.”

According to the tab, Cox and “her beau and Cougar Town costar, Brian Van Holt, are planning a cozy getaway, likely in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, or Hawaii.”

Star quotes a so-called “friend” as saying, “She intends to make this an amazing time with Brian,” and notes Cox is “insuring that the trip is extra special… by stocking up on $5,000 worth of lingerie at La Perla.”

Really?

First of all, Gossip Cop has previously reported that Cox and Van Holt are “friends,” not lovers.

And despite talk of her “planning a cozy getaway” and “insuring that the trip is extra special,” an actual Cox confidante assures Gossip Cop, “She is not going away for the holidays.”

Oops.

According to Us Weekly, recently separated Courteney Cox and “Cougar Town hunk Brian Van Holt are showing no signs of slowing down their relationship.”

Huh? What relationship?

Anyway, the magazine quotes a source allegedly close to David Arquette saying, “It’s just weird that she decided to pull away from her marriage right at the time she’s linked to her costar.”

Actually, what’s “weird” is that Cox has been seriously linked to Van Holt at all.

Still, Us Weekly reports that the day after Cox and Arquette announced their trial separation, the two shared a meal at a Culver City, California restaurant, where the tab says his “hand was resting on her shoulder.”

Ooh.

OK, here’s the real deal.

Cox and Van Holt are NOT dating.

A source in the know tells Gossip Cop that talk of a romance between them is “completely fabricated… They’re costars and great friends.”

Courteney Cox is breaking her silence about her split from David Arquette.

“I don’t know what will happen, but this is not like we’re getting divorced,” reveals Cox.

“This is a separation and I think that takes a lot of courage… Whatever is supposed to happen will be the best thing for us,” she says in her first interview with TV Week.

And while she leaves open the possibility of a reconciliation, the “Cougar Town” star admits that “we actually have grown apart.”

She even thinks her husband of 11 years is “a kook.” When discussing the infamous interview with Howard Stern, Cox says his revelations about them not having sex for months and his dalliance with Jasmine Waltz is “not shocking… David is an entertainer and I’m sure the people who listen to the radio are entertained by his stories.”

Cox also says she’s been leaning on closest “Friends” costar Jennifer Aniston. ”We just have fun, we laugh, we’re inseparable and it’s great,” says an appreciative Cox. “Jennifer has been amazing for sure.”

David Arquette and Courteney Cox‘s separation came as unpleasant news last week, but some outlets are doing their best to make matters seem worse than they are.

There was already the made up story about Arquette firing his fling Jasmine Waltz from a club job (which actually didn’t even exist) and speculative reports that Cox is beginning to date other men (which she is not).

Now the National Enquirer has jumped on the bandwagon, claiming that the couple’s “divorce” is “getting ugly.”

First things first: There is no Cox and Arquette “divorce.” As a rep for the actor confirms to Gossip Cop, “They are separated,” but there is “no talk of divorce at all.”

So the Enquirer‘s premise is totally false.

What about the specifics?

According to the tabloid, allegations that Cox “may have cheated” with “Cougar Town” co-star Brian Van Holt mean that Arquette will “go for the jugular” and demand half of Cox’s $100 million fortune.

Except that Cox didn’t cheat with Van Holt.

The Enquirer contends that the split is “shaping up as one of Hollywood’s nastiest and costliest divorces ever.”

Really? Because the affectionate couple hugged and smiled together while watching daughter Coco at her horse show just days after the separation was announced.

Doesn’t seem like Cox and Arquette are in the midst of a historically “nasty” breakup, does it?

And as Arquette’s rep reminds us, “They still have their business together,” adding, the Enquirer hit piece is “all b.s.”

The gang at Hollyscoop is a little mixed up, confusing one Courteney Cox rumor with another.

And both are wrong.

The sloppy site claims that Cox has long had “strong feelings” for “Cougar Town” co-star Brian Van Holt, and uses a RadarOnline report to claim that “they’ve been secretly dating for some time.”

According to Hollyscoop, before she and David Arquette announced their separation this week, Cox was having “more than just a fling” with Van Holt.

There are two problems with this version of events.

One, she’s not dating Van Holt.

Two, RadarOnline, the outlet on which Hollyscoop bases its post, doesn’t link Cox to Van Holt.

Clearly, Hollyscoop didn’t read the story too carefully, because in capital letters RadarOnline writes that Cox’s alleged relationship is “with a DIFFERENT co-star” than Van Holt.

Oops.

Actually, Cox is not dating anyone from “Cougar Town” — or anywhere else, for that matter.

A source close to Cox tells Gossip Cop that the actress and Van Holt happen to be “great friends,” but reiterates that Cox is not dating him or anyone else.

Us Weekly, which pawed through Star magazine’s garbage this week, also took a cheap shot at Jennifer Aniston.

According to a “source,” last spring Aniston met Josh Hopkins through his “Cougar Town” co-star Courteney Cox, and the two began “casually dating.”

Unfortunately, Hopkins is “a player and is into meeting younger girls,” claims the Us Weekly source, and the actor allegedly rejected Aniston’s overtures for a relationship.

Ah, but the magazine doesn’t stop there.

“Josh calls Jennifer his ‘sport f–k,’” a friend of Hopkins supposedly tells Us.

How charming.

Of course, it’s also untrue.

The two friends did not date, and Us Weekly has no evidence that they ever did.

Instead of admitting that there’s no story here, the magazine falsely attributes a vulgar statement to Hopkins and suggests that he duped Aniston, whose type, the tabloid claims, is “really good-looking a–holes.”

“Not only is this false on all levels, but absolutely crude and disrespectful,” a rep for Aniston tells Gossip Cop.

A source close to Hopkins, meanwhile, assures us that the actor would “never, ever” act as Us claims, and especially not toward Aniston — whom, again, he did not date.

After months of speculation, it’s official: Jennifer Aniston will reunite with Courteney Cox on “Cougar Town.”

The star will appear on the show’s September 22 season premiere.

“She’s going to play Courteney’s shrink named Bonnie,” executive producer Bill Lawrence said.

“Kind of a get-too-involved-in-her-life-type of therapist. Those guys are so close in real-life they kind of do that for each other anyway,” adds Lawrence.

The “Friends” stars’ famous off-camera closeness played a role in bringing Aniston to the show.

“It starts and ends with Courteney and Jen being really great friends and excited to work together again — especially doing comedy together,” explains Lawrence.

“Every day that those two talk they have more ideas about [Bonnie]. It’s definitely something they’re both involved in creatively.”

“A reunion of Friends has caused a riff in Courteney Cox and David Arquette‘s marriage,” declares a Betty Confidential “exclusive,” referring to rumors that Cox’s former cast mates will appear on her new show, “Cougar Town.”

This already smells fishy.

Why would the couple be “battling” on the subject?

According to the site, Arquette is “worried about the integrity” of the show. A so-called “source” says he told Cox during a staff meeting argument, “This is not Friends. This is Cougar Town.”

His wife has already supposedly called old pals Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and Matthew Perry about appearing on the series, and Arquette “isn’t happy about it,” claims the Betty Confidential source.

Arquette allegedly didn’t want Lisa Kudrow to make an appearance last season, but “Courteney won that battle,” and it looks like ”Courteney will win this fight as well.”

Let’s get this straight.

Betty Confidential wants us to believe David Arquette is furious that the show his wife headlines could potentially feature one of the most talked-about reunions in TV history, and that he’s allegedly argued the point in front of staff… but only one “source” seems to have witnessed it, and if a reunion winds up happening it’s only due to Cox “winning” a nonsensical battle.

A source close to the couple tells Gossip Cop the story is complete “b.s.”

The site reports, “An insider tells us that Jen is dunzo with TV,” and then quotes that so-called “insider” as saying, “Jen wants to stay in movies.”

HollywoodLife then goes on to claim, “Although she recently told Extra that she’d ‘do anything’ for BFF Courteney Cox including – when pushed – appear on her show, Cougar Town, the source tells us that isn’t the truth and she was simply being nice for the purpose of the interview.”

Where should Gossip Cop start? With HollywoodLife essentially calling Aniston a liar and a bad friend?

Nah, we’ll get to that in a moment.

Let’s start with HollywoodLife stating, “Jennifer Aniston says she’s done with TV.”

Uh… Aniston NEVER said that.

Never ever.

Then, HollywoodLife takes something that Aniston DID say – that she would “do anything” for her best friend Courteney Cox – and claims, “that isn’t the truth.”

Actually, the only thing that isn’t the truth is HollywoodLife’s completely fabricated story.

A rep for Aniston tells Gossip Cop, “Jennifer said many times… that she would love to do [“Cougar Town”] if Courteney wanted her to.” The rep added that HollywoodLife is “wrong again.”

“Is Courteney Cheating with Cougar Town Costar?” asks Star magazine about Courteney Cox. 

According to the tabloid, “Tongues are wagging after Courteney Cox and Brian Van Holt are spotted dining together four times — with her hubby, David Arquette, nowhere in sight.”

“The Cougar Town coworkers seem to have thrown caution to the wind,” writes the Star, which lists a few times Cox and Van Holt have hung out together, including Malibu’s Coral Beach Cantina, where the mag claims they had an “intimate dinner.”

But are these dinners really “intimate,” and is Arquette really nowhere in sight?

NO and NO.

In fact, Cox and Arquette were together just this past weekend at a party in L.A. for Howard Stern. 

And Cox was by Arquette’s side when he was recently honored by St. Joseph’s Medical Center at its 25th annual gala.

A source close to Cox assures Gossip Cop the actress and Van Holt are simply “great friends.” That’s all.

The Cox confidante says talk of cheating is “untrue” and calls the Star story “ridiculous.”

The good folks at HollywoodLife.com took a short break from botching celebrity news to publish an upskirt photograph of Courteney Cox and scold her for not using a “crotch cover.”

On the set of her TV series “Cougar Town,” Cox rode a bike while wearing a short skirt. A paparazzo snapped a pic from a low angle (which Gossip Cop cropped), and HollywoodLife decided it was important for everyone to see.

And if anyone DIDN’T squint hard enough below Cox’s skirt, the site helpfully provides another picture that zooms in on the critical area.

With the tact of a first grader, HollywoodLife exclaims, “Hey, Courteney, we can see your underwear! (And we really do hope it’s underwear down there.)”

We have two questions for the editors:

1. Are upskirt paparazzi photos of actresses really what your visitors crave?

2. Shouldn’t a female-targeted and -operated site claiming to be everyone’s “Style BFF” know what it would, um, look like if Cox weren’t wearing anything beneath her skirt?

OK. We’ve been baited. Where’s the switch?

Aniston will “reportedly play a lady-lover” on “Cougar Town,” executive-produced by (and starring) her close friend Courteney Cox. “She’s persuaded Jen to guest star,” according to one so-called “insider.”

So Aniston isn’t actually “turning lesbian” as the lead implies, but is she still going to play one on TV?

Nope.

“There are no plans for her to be on ‘Cougar Town’,” a rep for the actress tells Gossip Cop. Furthermore, “She has not been asked to do ‘Cougar Town.’”

While there’s no chance Aniston will do the show this season as reported, she might do it in the future.

The magazine reports, “Curvier Courteney Cox raised eyebrows by holding her purse in front of her stomach while walking the Golden Globes red carpet in a black dress. And at the after parties for the Jan. 17 awards ceremony, the glowing actress stuck to drinking water with lime, leaving partygoers to wonder: Is she expecting?”

Wait!

Hold on!

She carried her purse in front of her stomach AND drank water?!

Congratulations! (To Star, for turning mundane occurrences into sure signs of pregnancy.)

The gossip rag further claims that when production for “Cougar Town” was halted in November, Cox was getting in vitro fertilization, and now she’s “been telling friends she’s almost three months along.”

Gossip Cop is not sure who these friends are, because we contacted a source super close to the actress who told us categorically, “She is NOT pregnant.”

PS: This may be hard to believe but Gossip Cop has witnessed MANY stars drink water, and most of those dudes were not pregnant.

Adds a so-called “source,” Cox “is under pressure to spice things up for a second season… Jen is likely to guest star for one episode as [a] fellow cougar.”

Aniston’s rep told Gossip Cop, “At present there are no plans for Jennifer to be on the show,” though Friends are friends, so one can “never say never.”

A few months ago Gossip Cop busted a News of the World story that reported, “Friends is back for a big-screen version of the hit sitcom.”

At the time, reps for several stars of the hit show told Gossip Cop, they were “not aware of any plans for a ‘Friends’ movie.” Well now Lisa Kudrow, who guest stars this week on Courteney Cox’s comedy “Cougar Town,” personally addresses the rumor.

Kudrow says that despite the success of the big-screen adaptation of “Sex and the City,” the creators of “Friends,” NEVER pitched the former cast members on a “Friends: The Movie.”

She tells the Associated Press, “’Sex and the City’ was already filmic… It was a single-camera show that was like a half-hour movie every week, anyway. Our show was multi-camera in front of an audience. Whenever movie versions of those types of shows have been done, they’ve been sort of satirical.” Adds Kudrow, “Maybe in 10 more years, other people will play us and make fun of it.”

Gossip Cop would like to know in the comments section if you agree with Kudrow that a “Friends” flick wouldn’t work, or if you would still like to see a big-screen version of the long-running comedy series.

Just yesterday, the Star reported that Jennifer Aniston was looking to adopt a baby. And today, the National Enquirer says her “Friends” co-star Courteney Cox is similarly looking to adopt a child, and is supposedly getting help from “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” star Nia Vardalos, the 2009 spokesperson for the National Adoption Day Coalition.

Let us explain.

Varadalos is married to Cox’s “Cougar Town” co-star Ian Gomez, and the couple have an adopted daughter, who the Enquirer claims “stirred Courteney’s desire for more kids.” The article adds, “When Nia brought her daughter to see daddy at work on the set, Courteney flipped for her.”

Cox and her husband David Arquette already have a five-year-old daughter, Coco, but the tab reports they “desperately want Coco to have a sibling… And now with Nia in their corner, Coco may find herself with a sister before long.”  

Touching, but not true. A rep for Cox tells Gossip Cop the Enquirer story is a “complete fabrication.”

Courteney Cox is dealing with a “private family matter,” says a rep at ABC, which has announced that production on “Cougar Town” is being halted for the time being.

No further information from ABC or Cox’s rep was given as to the nature of the “family matter”

The National Enquirer is particularly fond of “Trouble on the Set” stories. Some are true, others are not.

This week the supermarket tabloid pulls out its claws on “Cougar Town” star Courteney Cox.

The piece calls Cox “a control freak,” who “makes a huge number of script changes to make her character look good, and she is extremely picky about everything on the show.”

To Gossip Cop, who has worked in television, that sounds more like a TV veteran who’s hands-on and wants ensure that her show is a success.

Moving on, the mag claims to have an “insider” who heard Cox go off on one of the people who provides food for the set. According to that source, “Courteney ranted at her and said, ‘Everyone knows you are supposed to have equal parts of ham and cheese in a sandwich!’” (Actually, did not know that.)

In another unverifiable anecdote, the Enquirer writes that Cox “exploded” at someone in the wardrobe department “for not having five clothing options for her… The wardrobe employee had offered only three.” A so-called “eyewitness” says an infuriated Cox told the employee that if in 10 minutes “You don’t have what I requested, you’d better not show up next time!”

And finally, the mag has some unidentified person say, “She gives off this ‘I’m important and you’re not’ vibe.”

Well, Gossip Cop investigated and, on the contrary, many consider Cox quite the professional.

But if you think there’s really an attitude problem – which there is not – then why did so many co-workers from the show come out to support Cox on Tuesday when she was honored at TV Guide magazine’s “Hot List” party?

Possibly because, as one person close to Cox told Gossip Cop, the Enquirer’s hatchet job is a “complete fabrication.”

Is it true Courteney Cox doesn’t want her husband David Arquette prowling too closely on “Cougar Town”?

Gossip site BettyConfidential – always creative with its claims – alleges there’s escalating tension between Cox and Arquette, as ”David is pressuring Courteney to let him join the cast of her new show.”

An “on-set insider” says the pair “are squabbling over David becoming a series regular.” Also citing “jealousy” over Courteney spending time with other guys on set, the supposed “source” claims her husband is ”trying to convince Courteney that working together would be a great way for their marriage to stay solid.”

Know what would be nice? Some “solid” reporting. Arquette is too busy directing “Medium,” and there have been no arguments – or even serious conversations – about him becoming a “Cougar Town” regular. Cox and Arquette both happen to be executive producers on the series.

Courteney’s rep told Gossip Cop rumors of a casting squabble are “absolutely false.” So don’t hold your breath for any cat fights.
