Colin Farrell spent Christmas Day in a Dublin hospital — delivering more than 100 presents to sick kids at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin.

He arrived unannounced and without any fanfare to meet with the children.

The press and paparazzi were not alerted, nor would the hospital comment when Gossip Cop called. Even his own rep hadn’t been tipped off about his altruism.

Farrell simply visited the sick kids and showered them with gifts, all of out of the kindness of his heart.

Various relatives of the children, however, tweeted about Farrell’s visit.

One noted, “Just chatting with #ColinFarrell who is in with presents for the kids here in #Crumlin. No tv/media, a gentleman and genuine.”

Another tweeted, “Just met Colin Farrell he came to meet the kids in crumlin hospital really nice man. fair play to him putting a smile on the childrens faces.”

That same parent noted Farrell brought “the whole hospital… presents,” adding, “Farrell is a real genuine guy alright. ”

He’s all right in our book, too.

Stars got into the holiday spirit for the American Giving Awards in Los Angeles on Friday.

Miley Cyrus, 50 Cent, LeAnn Rimes, Colin Farrell and JR Martinez were among the celebs on hand for the event, which honors community heroes and gives charities an opportunity to share $2 million in grant money to fund their efforts.

The ceremony will be aired as a two-hour special, hosted by Bob Costas, on NBC on Saturday.

Elizabeth Taylor‘s friends and family celebrated the late Hollywood legend’s life at a private memorial service on Sunday.

The actress and activist died at 79 last March.

Colin Farrell hosted the 75-minute event at the Steven J. Ross Theater on the Warner Bros. lot, which was attended by some of Taylor’s closest famous friends, including Elton John and Michael Caine.

Her children, Christopher Wilding, Liza Todd and Maria Burton, also paid tribute, along with her stepdaughter Kate Burton.

In addition to speeches, there was music.

Taylor’s grandson, Rhys Tivey, played “Amazing Grace” on the trumpet, and John performed the song ”Blue Eyes.”

The day after one vampire movie dominated the MTV Movie Awards, there’s a new trailer for bloodsucker remake Fright Night.

(Not coincidentally, the Fright Night trailer even references the Twilight series.)

Opening on August 19, the movie stars Anton Yelchin as a teen battling the vampire who just moved into his neighborhood, as played by Colin Farrell.

“It’s getting hot and heavy between superstar songbird Rihanna and hunky Colin Farrell,” reports Star magazine.

According to a so-called “friend” of the singer, “Colin and Rihanna sparked big time after they were guests on ‘The Graham Norton Show’ in London last November,” and “have been seeing each other on and off since.”

Farrell supposedly even asked the “Only Girl” singer to meet his two children, which Rihanna “takes as a sign that he’s getting serious about her,” says the mag.

Rihanna “understands that Colin has a reputation as a womanizer,” adds the tabloid, but “is willing to take a leap of faith” on the Irish actor.

Really?

NO.

Rihanna and Farrell are NOT a couple, despite the unrelenting tabloids’ contention that they are.

They did NOT dine together at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica last week. She did NOT meet his sons. And they are NOT “getting serious.”

A source close to the singer tells Gossip Cop that they met all of once – at “The Graham Norton Show” in November – and that’s all, folks.

Like a puppy with his favorite chew toy, HollywoodLife just will… not… let… go!

Last week, the site insisted that Rihanna and Colin Farrell weren’t just dating – they were allegedly “getting serious.”

The story was bogus.

As Gossip Cop pointed out, Rihanna and Colin Farrell were not dating, and HollywoodLife just seemed to be embellishing an old rumor linking the stars – one that we’d already busted.

But the site is serious about Rihanna and Farrell being “serious.”

HollywoodLife claims “the two stopped by Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, an intimate Italian restaurant, and were careful to leave at separate times so as not to be photographed together. Sneaky!”

No, what’s “sneaky” is HollywoodLife trying to make it seem like the stars shared a meal at an “intimate” restaurant.

They did not.

Farrell was at Giorgio Baldi for a business dinner. Rihanna was across the room at a different table.

Maybe they were so “careful,” the two chose to have their entire intimate date separately!

Or maybe – just maybe – HollywoodLife is still wrong, and Rihanna is not dating Colin Farrell.

HollywoodLife has fallen in love again – with a completely random rumor that raises eyebrows at less gullible outlets.

Under the headline, “Colin Farrell & Rihanna Getting Serious,” the site spreads a report that the two stars have “fallen hard for one another and it’s moving quickly.”

Supposedly, the two stars “really hit it off” after meeting on “The Graham Norton Show” back in December, and now Rihanna will reportedly fly from her Australian tour leg to Los Angeles to meet Farrell’s children this weekend.

“Wow, didn’t it seem like just yesterday she was dating baseball player Matt Kemp and then linked to Drake?” marvels HollywoodLife. “This girl doesn’t waste any time!”

Uh huh.

And HollywoodLife doesn’t “waste any time” either… with annoyances like checking facts, seeing if a story passes the smell test, or looking for any kind of evidence that the two stars have been dating at all – let alone “getting serious.”

Three weeks ago, Gossip Cop busted a false report, claiming Rihanna and Farrell were sexting each other.

Still, we still checked out this latest tale, and a source close to Farrell assures us that HollywoodLife’s story is entirely “not true.”

According to The Sun, Farrell has “worked his charms on Rihanna to such an extent she hasn’t stopped texting him” since they swapped numbers two months ago in England, where they both appeared on “The Graham Norton Show.”

Since then, says the paper, Farrell has been getting “lots of flirty messages” from the singer.

One of the tab’s sources claims, “Colin was taken aback by some of the texts. He reckons he might well be in there. They’re both single, so why not?”

In fact, The Sun says, ”Colin and Rihanna have made plans to meet up in LA when their hectic schedules allow.”

Really?

No.

A source close to Farrell assures Gossip Cop this latest tale is “not true.”

Jeremy Renner threw himself a massive party to celebrate his 40th birthday – and it drew Hollywood’s A-list.

On Saturday, Renner’s Hollywood Hills home was filled with such stars as Leonardo DiCaprio, Christina Aguilera, Scarlett Johansson and Blake Lively, who danced the night away.

Renner, whose actual birthday was the day before, served plenty of food and drinks, and even set up a cupcake bar.

Charlize Theron, Colin Farrell and Kevin Connolly were also part of the star-studded guest list.

Gossip Cop is told it was one of the best bashes Hollywood has seen in a long time.

According to the blogger, Colin Farrell will take the role of Ozzy Osbourne in the legendary rocker’s upcoming biopic.

The actor “has reportedly signed on” to the project, claims Hilton, who adds, “The more we think about it, the more we think that he’ll nail it!”

Actually, if Hilton had put any thought — or work — into the story, he’d know that it’s complete nonsense.

The rumor is “not true,” a rep for Farrell tells Gossip Cop.

“Jennifer is topless for Farrell,” reads the headline of a piece in The Sun, which goes on to claim, “Jennifer Aniston is dropping her ‘nice girl’ image to go topless in a raunchy Colin Farrell film.”

According to The Sun, in the film, Horrible Bosses, Aniston is set to play a “sex-obsessed, kinky dentist.”

The paper specifically notes Aniston being topless “was worked out before she signed her contract, so she’s committed.”

That’s not accurate.

Aniston’s rep says, “The role is provocative and very sexual in a funny way, but details about what will be shown are not quite figured out.”

As of right now, Gossip Cop hears there are no full-on topless scenes, but a source says the production is “still sorting out scenes.”

“Farrell in London club brawl,” screamed a headline in a post by the British OK!,” which claimed “reformed bad boy” Colin Farrell was “embroiled in a brawl outside a London club” over the weekend.

The site noted that outside the famed Café de Paris nightclub, Farrell “got involved in a heated exchange with a fellow partygoer,” and “the altercation threatened to turn violent when the other man lunged at Farrell, but his pals managed to pull the Irish actor away and avoid it turning into a full-blown fight.”

Other sites had similar headlines including, “Colin Farrell Turns Drunken Street Fighter In London,” and even showed photos of the star allegedly getting into fisticuffs. 

While Farrell has successfully battled the bottle, he did not battle anyone in London.

The person pictured in these inaccurate accounts is not Farrell, who was nearly 5,500 miles away in Los Angeles.

Remember that sex tape Colin Farrell made a few years ago with Playboy model Nicole Narain? (Yeah, that was rhetorical, because if you saw it you wouldn’t forget it.) Anyway, OK! magazine claims that the explicit video, which Farrell had legally banned from being sold, distributed or displayed, was “sent to his girlfriend’s family.” How embarrassing!

According to OK!, Farrell and girlfriend Alicja Bachleda, with whom he had a son last month, are “furious with the attempts to shock her family,” who reportedly “are Catholic and very old fashioned.” A so-called “source” says, “Colin hoped he’d seen the last of the tape.  Him and Alicja are desperate to find out who sent it.”

Actually, they’re not desperate at all. The only ones who are desperate are the outlets who made up this story.  A spokeswoman for Farrell assures Gossip Cop this tale of sex and videotape is also full of lies. The rep told us, “It is not true.”
