Anderson Cooper will host a syndicated daytime talk show.

The one-hour program will launch in fall 2011 and be based out of New York.

According to the press release from Warner Brothers, Cooper will bring “his passionate voice and personal perspective to a topical daily talk show” that “will cover social issues, trends and events, pop culture and celebrity, human interest stories and populist news.”

It’s official: Piers Morgan is taking over for Larry King.
CNN made the announcement on Wednesday.

One of television’s worst-kept secrets for months, the transition to Morgan after King ends his “Larry King Live” run will occur in January, says the network.

According to CNN, the primetime show will be a “candid, in-depth newsmaker interview program.”

Shortly after Wyclef Jean officially announced last night his bid to become president of Haiti, Sean Penn went on the attack, telling CNN he is “suspicious” of Jean’s motives. Penn, an activist who has spent most of his time in Haiti since the January earthquake, alleges that the former Fugees member “as an ambassador at large, has been virtually silent” since the quake.
