The second audition featured on “The Voice” premiere Sunday night got the season’s first unanimous response from the judges.

As single dad Jesse Campbell sang “A Song For You,” Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green all pressed their buttons and turned around.

Campbell was left with a big decision to make, but ultimately chose to join Aguilera’s team.

Etta James’ funeral was held on Saturday, with a number of high-profile entertainers joining the late singer’s friends and family at a Los Angeles church.

James died earlier this month, having battled leukemia and other ailments.

At the service, Rev. Al Sharpton delivered a eulogy that included a message from President Obama.

Stevie Wonder performed “Shelter in the Rain,” and Christina Aguilera sang James’ signature song, “At Last.”

Kelly Clarkson has been tapped to sing the national anthem at Super Bowl XLVI on February 5 in Indianapolis.

The “American Idol” winner, who performed last weekend on “Saturday Night Live,” will be joined by country music couple Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton, who are slated to sing “America the Beautiful” during the pre-game.

Madonna has been tapped to perform during the halftime show.

Last year, Christina Aguilera famously flubbed the national anthem’s lyrics at the Super Bowl in Dallas.

Christina Aguilera is the first to admit she’s gone through a bad patch.

In 2011, the singer infamously botched the national anthem at the Super Bowl, finalized her divorce, got hacked, and was arrested for public intoxication.

“That was a rough year,” she tells Marie Claire for the magazine’s February 2012 cover story.

She adds, “It’s hard for anyone to go through that in public. But when you’re a celebrity and under a microscope, it’s 58 million times harder. I grew an even thicker skin after that hard year.”

Recently, Aguilera has been mocked for her weight.

“I’ve been through the gamut of all things in this business,” she explains. “Being too thin. Being bigger. I’ve been criticized for being on both sides of the scale.”

Her strategy is to tune out the haters.

“It’s noise I block out automatically,” says Aguilera, adding, “I love my body. My boyfriend loooves my body. My son is healthy and happy, so that’s all that matters to me.”

Of course, Aguilera also has a hit show – “The Voice” – about to return to the air.

Here’s hoping 2012 proves to be a happier, healthier year for her.

“The Voice” is upping things a notch for season two.

NBC announced on Friday that Kelly Clarkson, Jewel, Miranda Lambert, Alanis Morissette, Ne-Yo, Lionel Richie, Robin Thicke and Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds will join the show as mentors to the aspiring singers.

Clarkson’s addition is interesting as she got her start at rival show “American Idol.”

Lambert will work with her husband Blake Shelton’s team along with Clarkson, while Morissette and Thicke will be paired with Adam Levine.

Christina Aguilera will have help from Jewel and Richie while Cee-Lo has Babyface and Ne-Yo on his team.

The singing competition premieres Sunday, February 5 after the Super Bowl.

Someone’s going Gaga here, but it’s not Britney Spears.

An alleged Spears cover of Lady Gaga‘s “The Edge of Glory” is making its rounds on the Internet today, with places like New York magazine’s ‘Vulture’ blog speculating that the video may be legitimate.

Vulture writes, “Don’t believe everything you read, but this very well may be Britney Spears singing Lady Gaga’s ‘The Edge of Glory,’” noting, “Because, honestly, who else could warble out of tune quite like Britney?”

However, it only took Gossip Cop a few minutes to discover the video is nothing more than a (quite talented) YouTube subscriber impersonating Spears’ voice.

The impersonator is seemingly well known in the YouTube world, and has done a number of faux covers in the past, including “Spears” signing Amy Winehouse‘s “Rehab” and Christina Aguilera‘s “What a Girl Wants.”

A different user made a fake artwork image for the impersonator’s “Edge of Glory” rendition, which apparently tricked the blogs into thinking it was a legit Spears rendition, even though the subscriber specifically points out in a note on the image: “This is fake, I made this.”

Christopher Chaney, the man accused of hacking into the personal accounts of such celebrities as Christina Aguilera, Mila Kunis, and Scarlett Johansson, and then posting some nude photos on the Internet, pleaded not guilty on Tuesday.

Of course, a little more than two weeks ago, Chaney acknowledged in an interview with the Fox affiliate in his hometown of Jacksonville, Florida, “I know what I did was one of the worst invasions of privacy.”

He even said at the time, “I was almost relieved when they came and took the computer.”

Still, he pleaded not guilty to the 26 charges leveled against him, including wiretapping and unauthorized access to a computer.

If convicted, Chaney faces 121 years in federal prison.

A trial has been scheduled for December 27.

Justin Bieber, Christina Aguilera, Maroon 5, Mary J. Blige and Kelly Clarkson were announced on Monday to perform at the 2011 American Music Awards next month.

Aguilera and Maroon 5 are slated to perform their summer hit, “Moves Like Jagger,” at the awards show.

They’ll take the stage along with previously announced entertainers Katy Perry and Pitbull.

Adele and Lady Gaga lead the artists with the most nominations at the AMAs, which will air live from the Nokia Theatre in L.A. on November 20.

Scotty McCreery flubbed the national anthem before Game One of the World Series in St. Louis on Wednesday night.

The “American Idol” champion started his performance with a microphone malfunction that rendered the first few lyrics inaudible.

But McCreery started again and soldiered through it, and things seemed to be going well until he invented the line, “No José does that star-spangled banner yet wave…”

McCreery’s in good company though – earlier this year, of course, Christina Aguilera had some trouble with the anthem at the Super Bowl.

The celeb hacking scandal that led to the FBI’s Operation Hackerazzi arrest of Christopher Chaney earlier this week is generating new controversy, thanks to an Associated Press article asking whether Scarlett Johansson and other Hollywood stars should be blamed.

Frazier Moore, an AP television writer, poses the question in an inflammatory article titled, “The Naked Truth: Stars Are Asking to be Hacked.”

“Maybe it’s not fair to blame the victim,” opens Moore, acknowledging Chaney’s alleged practices as “predatory” and quoting the U.S. Attorney’s comment that hackers who engage in such activity are “scum.”

He then writes, “Poor Scarlett. On the other hand… really?!”

Moore asks, “What was going on in Johansson’s pretty head when she, like so many, snapped candid self-portraits without figuring out that: (a) She’s a lovely woman. (b) She’s a famous woman. (c) She’s a highly marketable woman whose every move, clothed or unclothed, is of interest to a public salivating for details.”

He later says, “In this era of digital snooping, why would any celebrity delude himself that his or her physical seclusion guarantees privacy?”

“However high the walls surrounding one’s property and however well-staffed one’s security detail, why would any celebrity store nude photos on any electronic device that connects to the Internet,” Moore continues, “unless, of course, the celeb is a closet exhibitionist and secretly hopes the stuff will go viral.”

The article wraps us like this: “Sure, Johansson is one of many victims of cyber-hacking. Maybe she was also asking for it.”

Wow.

It’s a position we’ve seen other commentators take, but it’s worth pointing out a few things.

First, while Johansson and other celebrities might be “highly marketable,” Chaney himself describes his invasive behavior as “addictive” and never sought to sell any images for profit.

Also, while the article focuses on “nude” pictures, the more than 50 victims in the case include celebs whose private pictures were not naked or sexual in nature, which works against the notion that they’re all “closet exhibitionists.”

Further, regardless of whether it’s wise for a celebrity – or anyone – to store compromising photos on their personal computers and mobile devices, the hacking was done without their knowledge or consent. That’s why it’s “hacking.”

If Scarlett Johansson – or Mila Kunis or any Hollywood actress – ever wanted to “leak” scandalous pictures online, she could do so without having Christopher Chaney break into her account and breach her privacy.

Finally, the deliberately controversial language in wondering whether a woman was “asking for it” when she’s violated seems dangerously loaded, especially in an age when personal privacy both in and out of the home seems to be under threat.

OK! claims that Christina Aguilera demands preferential treatment whenever she’s on the road.

According to the tab, the singer never gets caught in traffic jams as she travels in style.

The mag notes that regardless of whether Aguilera is in the U.S. or abroad, she will “make like a visiting head of state and insist on a police escort.”

Interestingly, even though OK! makes it seem like an every day occurrence, the tabloid doesn’t list one single example of Aguilera zipping through streets with sirens blaring and lights flashing.

That’s because the story is “100 percent false,” an Aguilera confidante assures Gossip Cop.

When it comes to stories with false reporting about cops and celebs, OK! should have known they’d get busted.

Christopher Chaney was arrested this morning, accused of hacking dozens of celebrities’ personal email accounts.

The FBI’s “Operation Hackerazzi” busted the 35-year-old from Jacksonville, Florida, who’s been charged with crimes including accessing protected computers without authorization, damaging protected computers without authorization, wiretapping and aggravated identity theft.

According to a grand jury indictment, Chaney used multiple aliases to acquire private information belonging to celebrities including Scarlett Johansson, Christina Aguilera and Mila Kunis.

Nude photos were among the illegally obtained content.

In all, more than 50 victims have been identified.

Investigators believe that Chaney mined publicly available sources for data about his victims before gaining control of their email accounts.

The FBI says he probably got to new victims by accessing address books in computers he already breached.

Chaney appeared before a judge and was later released on $10,000 bond, but has to adhere to a slew of conditions.

Among the stipulations are that Chaney has severe travel restrictions, must live with a third party (like his folks), and cannot have any access to a computer or other device with Internet access.

If convicted on all counts, Chaney could face up to 121 years in federal prison.

Michael Jackson was honored with a star-studded “Michael Forever” tribute concert on Saturday night at Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.

The late King of Pop’s three children – Prince, Blanket and Paris – appeared on stage, as did other family members (like La Toya and Tito) and performers including Jamie Foxx, Ne-Yo, Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera, Gladys Knight, Pixie Lott and Smokey Robinson.

Paris Jackson, wearing a “Thriller”-style red leather jacket, told the crowd, “We’re very happy to be here on this special night to honor our father.”

Given the legal battle swirling over Jackson’s death back here in the United States, it’s nice to remember his musical legacy.

Christina Aguilera is about to be fired from “The Voice,” according to X17 Online.

The outlet claims that producers at the NBC hit “plan to axe” Aguilera as a coach on the show, where she serves alongside Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green.

According to X17, even though Aguilera is signed to return to the show for Season 2, “our source tells us show bosses are not happy to be stuck with her and they plan on replacing her for season three.”

Um, and why would producers want to get rid of a popular star on their hugely successful series?

“She doesn’t spend time with her contestants like she’s supposed to,” says the so-called “source.” “She doesn’t participate. She spends most of her time on the set with her boyfriend.”

Hmm.

So according to X17, Aguilera basically doesn’t do her job and will be fired… but not until next year?

This all sounds like the type of nonsense that would be spouted by a site so clueless it thinks Aguilera and Samantha Ronson are dating.

Of course, it’s 100% wrong.

A rep for Aguilera tells Gossip Cop the report is “completely false.”

Meanwhile, a source close to the celebrity coach laughed off the bogus X17 claims about Aguilera supposedly not spending time with her singers, sharing that some of them even came to Aguilera’s home for extra tutelage.

Cyndi Lauper sang the National Anthem at a 9/11 remembrance ceremony at the U.S. Open, and kinda, well… messed it up.

Instead of singing “O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming,” Lauper warbled, “O’er the ramparts we watched as our flag was still streaming.”

Ironically, it was the same line Christina Aguilera flubbed at the Super Bowl.

Christina Aguilera is the subject of an ugly and 100% false rumor that she gave her son a black eye.

MediaTakeOut speculates that the singer might be guilty of “child abuse” because her son, Max, was photographed with a bruised face.

“Normally we would just chalk this up to a CLUMSY KID,” declares the site, “but the word on the street is that Christina has a DRINKING PROBLEM… so who knows WHAT could have happened.”

As is so often the case, MTO is the one with no clue about what happened, or, in this case, any consideration for a good and loving mom’s reputation.

It turns out that 3-year-old Max was chasing after some squirrels while at the park with his nanny when he fell.

A friend of Aguilera tells Gossip Cop that Max loves to run around, especially in the park. The infuriated friend says, “As everyone knows, kids fall, and to insinuate anything else is absolutely disgusting.”

After the slip, Max went immediately to the doctor, where he was checked out.

Aguilera and her son are currently on a long-planned two-week vacation together.

To recap, her kid had a run-of-the-mill, very minor accident, and MediaTakeOut decided to use it as an excuse to imply that Aguilera’s a drunken child abuser — just plain awful.

Well, Aguilera’s lawyer, Eric Greenspan, is not just sitting around.

In a letter obtained by Gossip Cop, Aguilera’s attorney lashes out: “Our office represents Christina Aguilera and we have reviewed your post where you implied that our client may have been guilty of child abuse because her son had bruises under his eyes… Christina is a wonderful mother and was not present in the park when Max fell and hurt himself. To imply that she had something to do with this incident, without any investigation on your part whatsoever, is reckless and unconscionable.”

Not ruling out legal action, Greenspan adds, “We reserve all our client’s legal and equitable remedies for this reputable disparagement of our client’s character,” and ends his missive by admonishing MediaTakeOut, “HAVE YOU NO SHAME!!!!!!!!”

“The ink is barely dry on her four-month-old divorce, but Christina Aguilera is already planning to secretly marry her boyfriend, production assistant Matt Rutler,” begins a piece from the latest issue of Star magazine.

A so-called “friend” of the singer reveals, “Christina is telling us that she’d love to marry Matt. She’s absolutely consumed with him and can’t stand to be apart for even a minute.”

“She began talking about marriage within months of splitting with [ex-husband] Jordan [Bratman],” notes the alleged “source.”

The mag also says Aguilera and Rutler’s wedding will be “hush-hush and low key – the exact opposite of the million-dollar extravaganza she put on for her first wedding in 2005.”

In fact, “The Voice” judge’s upcoming nuptials are so “hush-hush” that not even she knows about it!

A source close to Aguilera tells Gossip Cop, “The story is entirely false,” and though “the couple is happy, neither has plans to marry.”

Christina Aguilera is joining Cee Lo Green, Leona Lewis and the band Alien Ant Farm, as well as members of the Jackson family for the Michael Jackson tribute concert slated for this fall.

Today, organizers announced some of the performers for “Michael Forever — The Tribute Concert,” which will take place at Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales on October 8.

As Gossip Cop previously reported, though the late singer’s mom, Katherine and siblings La Toya, Jackie, Marlon, and Tito support the concert, Jermaine and Randy oppose its timing since it will take place during the trial of Dr. Conrad Murray, who is charged in the King of Pop’s death.

More names of performers will be announced in the coming weeks.

“Christina Aguilera‘s career has suffered a series of humiliating setbacks recently,” says Star magazine, which goes on to claim, “Now her romance with boyfriend Matt Rutler may be history – unless she quits ‘The Voice.’”

A so-called “insider” for the mag explains, “The first few months of their relationship, it was all about wining and dining and traveling first class around the world… but ever since Christina started working on ‘The Voice,’ she’s consumed with the show.”

Aguilera supposedly “won’t let Matt work” because she “wants him at home so he can do tasks for her,” and Rutler is allegedly getting fed up with the arrangement.

Rutler “feels like a glorified assistant, and he’s rebelling,” notes the “source,” who says he told Aguilera “she needed to choose between him and ‘The Voice.’”

So, how did the “Fighter” singer react to the ultimatum?

She didn’t.

None of this ever happened.

A source close to the singer tells Gossip Cop, “Matt’s been very supportive” of Aguilera, and even leaks to us that she’s already signed on for next season.

As for the claim that Aguilera forbids her boyfriend from working, our source says that it’s simply not true, and that Rutler is involved in an entertainment project of his own.

When it comes to “The Voice” judge, Star once again hits a wrong note.

Christina Aguilera takes off her clothes for July’s W magazine cover.

The singer poses nude beneath a cascade of frizzy hair extensions and behind an artfully placed bouquet of roses.

In the accompanying interview, Aguilera talks about recent personal and professional failures, her relationship with Matt Rutler, and her new job on “The Voice.”

She touches upon her divorce from Jordan Bratman, explaining, “It got to a point where our life at home was reminding me of my own childhood. I will not have my son grow up in a tension-filled home.”

As for her infamous rendition of the national anthem at the Super Bowl, Aguilera says she got “lost in the emotion of being there.”

But she rejects the rumor that she was found wasted in Jeremy Renner‘s bed during a party.

“It was an open party, and everyone was spread out all over the house,” she recalls.

“At one point I sat on the edge of a bed. It was a guest room. But it only takes one person to start the negativity, and then everyone wants to hop aboard and continue the story.”

Aguilera argues that the bandwagon effect also had something to do with her arrest for public intoxication (and Rutler’s for drunk driving), a case that was ultimately thrown out for lack of evidence.

The first live episode of “The Voice” will feature the four celebrity coaches performing a medley of Queen songs, their first musical collaboration since the show’s premiere.

Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton will perform “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “We Will Rock You” and “We Are The Champions” on Tuesday’s broadcast.

The quartet of recording artists last sang together on Green’s own “Crazy” during the new hit’s debut.

Tuesday marks the first live episode of NBC’s singing competition, which has become enough of a hit that it will occupy the post-Super Bowl slot next year.

In a piece titled, “Christina’s Diva Demands,” In Touch claims, “Rather than savoring her comeback courtesy of The Voice, Christina Aguilera shocked onlookers by snubbing Mary J. Blige at the music legend’s Belvedere-sponsored FFAWN benefit concert on May 1.”

So, what did she do?

According to a so-called “eyewitness” at the New York event which benefitted disadvantaged women, “After warbling through one song, Christina left the stage without even acknowledging Mary or the charity.”

The story goes on to allege that Aguilera then showed up to the event’s after-party “drunk — and three hours late!”

Actually, that’s not exactly what happened.

An Aguilera pal tells Gossip Cop the In Touch article is “all wrong,” and that the singer was very supportive of her “dear friend” Blige.

And Aguilera’s rep says, “She was there early and stayed the whole show. This couldn’t be further from the truth,” adding it’s “sad when someone does something for charity that the press spins into a negative.”

Indeed.
