The singer performed John Lennon’s “Imagine,” and injected a little “religion” into the song, angering fans of the late singer and atheists as well.

“NBC’s New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly” has just announced its slate to ring in 2012.

Joining Daly on the 2-hour special from Times Square in New York are Drake and Jessie J, as well as “The Voice” music coaches Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green.

There will also be performances from The Roots and Tony Bennett, and segments from Jimmy Fallon, Bob Costas, Brian Williams, and Ricky Gervais.

Carson Daly blasted Perez Hilton for posting In Touch’s 100% false report about Christina Aguilera’s alleged “diva behavior” during a feisty radio interview with the blogger.

After Perez called into Daly’s program on Friday to discuss the latest gossip, the host immediately took him to task for spreading the magazine’s bogus story about a feud between Aguilera and their “The Voice” colleague Adam Levine.

“I was merely reporting what they were talking about,” protests the brutally bad blogger.

“You, by taking that story and running with it, are supporting it!” Daly fires back.

Christina Aguilera has been picked to be a coach on “The Voice,” NBC’s hyped music series to rival “American Idol.”

She joins Cee Lo Green and Adam Levine on the panel of recording artists who will coach competing teams of singers.

“To be given the opportunity to help shape new artists’ careers and mentor them to see their dreams come to fruition is a task I welcome with open arms,” said Aguilera in a statement.
