Britney Spears will reportedly remain under the conservatorship created in January 2008 to guide her personal and financial life.

Despite speculation that her status would change, there are no plans to give Spears legal independence, according to TMZ, which claims the pop star is “content” with the current arrangement.

In Touch claims in this week’s issue that as Britney Spears’ conservatorship is reportedly drawing to a close, “She’s fired the security team she blames for many of her recent problems.”

Referring to the sexual harassment suit filed by Spears’ former bodyguard Fernando Flores, which the singer is fighting, a so-called “insider” tells In Touch, “Britney felt the old guys knew too much about her baggage from the past… She wants to create a new, confident, independent Britney – and doesn’t want anyone around who remembers what she was like before.” Did she really fire her security staff?

Commissioner Reva Goetz is upset that fears of a paparazzi/reporter crush kept Britney Spears away from her chambers this afternoon, and has asked the pop star to return next week. “The court was supposed to meet with Ms. Spears this afternoon and there was a misunderstanding,” Goetz said. “I’m going to continue the matter until next Friday at 1:30 and she will be here.”
