Twilight Stars and Producers Express Condolences After Fan’s Comic Con Death

The producers and stars of the Twilight Saga series are speaking out after a fan died tragically on Tuesday as she headed to an upcoming San Diego Comic Con event.

The fan, identified only as Gisella G., had been waiting in line in anticipation for Thursday’s panel with the cast and crew of the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 when she temporarily left and was hit by a car while crossing the street.

After word spread of the terrible accident, several of the movie’s stars took to Twitter to express condolences.

Breaking Dawn – Part 2 director Bill Condon announced late on Saturday that he, the crew, and cast of the film, including Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart would have to return to Vancouver in a few weeks to do some “additional shots.”

Summit Entertainment has just announced that Breaking Dawn Part 1, the fourth installment in the Twilight Saga, has grossed an estimated $701.3 million globally since the film was released in November.

Breaking Dawn Part 1 , starring Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, is also on its way to becoming the highest grossing film in the series.

The film is just a few million dollars away from passing New Moon, which took in $709.8 million.

Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows easily won the weekend box office, debuting with $40 million in ticket sales.

Robert Downey, Jr.’s detective film finished ahead of second place Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chip-Wrecked, with $23.5 million.

Despite a limited release, Tom Cruise’s spy movie, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, still nabbed third with $13.6 million.

New Year’s Eve New #1 at Box Office

The  all-star cast of New Year’s Eve helped lift the romantic comedy to the top spot of this weekend’s box office, replacing Breaking Dawn as North America’s #1 movie.

New Year’s Eve secured first place with $13.7 million in ticket sales.

Coming in second was the debut of Jonah Hill’s The Sitter, with a box office take of $10 million.

And nabbing third was Breaking Dawn, with another $7.9 million.
