The James Bond blockbuster Skyfall won a very tight weekend box office, narrowly beating a group of holdovers that keep ruling the top half of the chart.
Skyfall earned $11 million for the top spot, beating the animated Rise of the Guardians, which took in $10.5 million for second place.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 edged out the James Bond movie Skyfall for first place in a tight battle for the box office crown, one week after the pair helped fuel the biggest Thanksgiving in Hollywood history.
Breaking Dawn – Part 2 earned $17.4 million while second place finisher Skyfall took in $17 million.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 won the extended Thanksgiving holiday weekend box office.
The vampire franchise’s final installment snagged first place (again) with $66 million for the five-day period, bringing its domestic total to $228.9 million.
James Bond thriller Skyfall took second place with $51.2 million.
The presidential drama Lincoln nabbed third with $34.1 million.
Those top earners and others in the weekend’s Top 10 led to this being the biggest Thanksgiving holiday at the box office — ever.Read more...

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 easily won the weekend box office, building off a huge first night that’s put the franchise capper at $141.3 million in North America.
That figure makes the last installment of the series second only to the opening for New Moon ($142.8 million).
Last week’s champ, the James Bond flick Skyfall, had a strong second-place showing of $41.5 million.
Lincoln expanded to wide release this week, with Steven Spielberg’s presidential biopic nabbing third place with $22.4 million.Read more...

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 grossed an estimated $30.4 million from Thursday night and midnight shows in North America, setting the stage for what could be a $150 million weekend.
If the final installment in the hit series keeps packing theaters at this pace, it will become the biggest opening in Twilight history.
The franchise’s current top opening weekend belongs to The Twilight Saga: New Moon, which earned $142 million when it debuted in November 2009.Read more...

PETA is baring its fangs at the organizers for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2’s recent post-premiere after party in Los Angeles.
The animal rights organization is upset that three caged wolves were on display at the event as part of the themed decor.
“Didn’t it dawn on the Twilight event organizers that real wolves do not belong at a party with blaring music and flashing lights?” asks PETA in a statement.Read more...

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and the film’s other stars walked the red carpet while 1,500 fans set up in a “tent city” looked on.
