Ice Age 4: Continental Drift, the latest installment in the hugely successful animated franchise, won its debut weekend at the box office.

The toon took in $46 million, good enough to topĀ The Amazing Spider-Man, which earned second place with $35 million.

Ted nabbed third with $22.1 million.

After a big mid-holiday week opening, The Amazing Spider-Man swung to the top of a crowded box office.

The Andrew Garfield-Emma Stone superhero reboot earned $65 million for the weekend, giving it an easy win over three still-strong holdovers.

Foul-mouthed stuffed bear comedy Ted took second place with $32.6 million.

Pixar’s latest animated adventure Brave nabbed third with $20.2 million in ticket sales.

Pixar has yet another #1 hit.

Brave, the animation company’s first movie featuring a female lead character, tops this weekend’s box office with a take of $66.7 million.

The Scottish adventure is Pixar’s 13th consecutive first-place opener.

Another animated feature, Madagascar 3, performed well enough in its third weekend to capture the #2 spot with $20.2 million.

Nabbing third place was the new release Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, which earned $16.5 million in its debut.
