Bill Clinton celebrated his 65th birthday and the 10th anniversary of the William J. Clinton Foundation with a huge bash on Saturday at the Hollywood Bowl.

Performing at the “Decade of a Difference” concert were Stevie Wonder, Lady Gaga, Kenny Chesney, Usher, and Bono and The Edge.

Gaga sang a number of her hits and danced suggestively for the both the 42nd president and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

But before she belted out “You and I,” she gave everyone, including the Clintons, the finger, and said, “If someone had told me so many years ago that I’d be doing that right in front of you, I just would not have believed them. I would have given them a good American ‘f**k you.’”

The superstar then sang a reworked version of “You and I” with such lyrics as “It’s been 12 years since you came around… So Hillary or Bill, sit back down where you belong in the oval office with those high heels on… Something about American nights when a Clinton makes us all feel safe. Somewhere something about a cool, Arkansas guy, yes, something about — Billary… Billary, that’s your new celebrity name… to the Clintons, you and I.”

Bill Clinton was a guest on “Late Show with David Letterman,” and while discussing the disparity between the wealthy and less fortunate, the talk show host said he would go after the rich and have them do their “fair share” to help.

Letterman explained, “I’m always looking to blame somebody,” adding, “Isn’t that human nature?”

The former president took issue, and said, “One of the best things about Americans is that we don’t really resent other people’s success,” prompting Letterman to shoot back, “What about Leno?”

Whoa!

U2‘s Bono and The Edge, Lady Gaga and Usher are set to perform at a massive, live streamed bash for Bill Clinton‘s foundation that will feature other “socially responsible” artists in music, film and television.

“A Decade of Difference: A Concert Celebrating 10 Years of the William J. Clinton Foundation” will take place on Saturday, October 15 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

The event will be broadcast exclusively on Yahoo! at ClintonConcert.Yahoo.com.

“I am proud that some of today’s most influential performers are coming together to raise awareness about the work of my Foundation,” said Clinton in a statement.

The former President continued, “In the past decade, commitments to my Clinton Global Initiative have improved the lives of more than 300 million people around the world. We’ve lowered the cost of AIDS and HIV treatment, combated climate change, strengthened economies, increased access to education and healthcare, provided financing and mentoring for small businesses. This celebration marks ten years of these efforts and demonstrates how much we can do to make a difference in the years ahead.”

Tickets will be made available to the general public on September 19.

Bill Clinton is set to co-host Ben Stiller‘s gala New York fundraiser for the construction of schools in Haiti.

The Stiller Foundation, which the actor launched after an earthquake devastated Haiti in 2010, will stage an event on September 23, with all proceeds going to non-profit groups working on the island nation.

Clinton, Stiller and art dealer David Zwirner will share hosting duties.

The former president is deeply involved in helping Haiti recover, having launched the Clinton Foundation Haiti Fund in the earthquake’s aftermath, and creating the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund with George W. Bush.

Bill Clinton is apparently a big fan of spy novels.

The former president has written a preface for Thomas Caplan‘s upcoming novel, The Spy Who Jumped Off The Screen.

The book is about a movie star and former operative who tries to prevent nuclear bombs from getting into the wrong hands.

Clinton hails the thriller as a “stylish, involving, utterly contemporary puzzle.”

The novel is set to come out in early 2012.

If you thought all hell broke loose for the boys in The Hangover, it sounds like it will be complete mayhem for them in Thailand, where the action is set for the sequel.

Basically, the guys - Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha – are in Thailand for Helms’s character Stu’s wedding.

According to the film’s studio, Warner Bros., “After the unforgettable bachelor party in Las Vegas, Stu is taking no chances and has opted for a safe, subdued pre-wedding brunch. However, things don’t always go as planned.”

Adds Warner Bros., “What happens in Vegas may stay in Vegas, but what happens in Bangkok can’t even be imagined.”

Bill Clinton shot a cameo in Thailand for The Hangover 2.

The former president was on the movie’s set yesterday to shoot a cameo, according to multiple sources.

Mike Tyson famously appeared as himself in the first movie, and the sequel is set to have roles for Liam Neeson and Paul Giamatti. Internal pressure derailed Mel Gibson‘s planned appearance.

Ed Helms, Bradley Cooper, Justin Bartha, and Zach Galifianakis are all back for the new Hangover.

While the reviews for George W. Bush‘s new memoir, “Decision Points,” have been mixed, the former president did get a rave review from another past prez, Bill Clinton.

In a statement today, Clinton called Bush’s book “well-written, and interesting from start to finish,” and the diehard Democrat even recommended the Republican’s memoir to “people of all political stripes.”

Clinton added, “Bush also gives readers a good sense of what it’s like to be president, to take the responsibilities of the office seriously, do what you think is right, and let history be the judge.”

“The book may not change the minds of those who disagree with decisions President Bush made,” he noted, “but it will help you to understand better the forces that molded him, and the convictions that drove him to make those decisions.”

The ceremony included elements of both Clinton’s and Mezvinsky’s faiths (Methodist and Jewish, respectively).

President Obama may get daily national security briefings, but his pop culture awareness seems to be hit-or-miss.

When Joy Behar asked whether he was aware that Lindsay Lohan was in jail, Obama replied, “I actually knew that.”

The president had less familiarity with Mel Gibson‘s current troubles. As to whether the scandal-prone star needed anger management, Obama told Behar he hadn’t been exposed to the infamous tapes.

“Should Snooki run as mayor of Wasilla?” asked Behar, referring to Sarah Palin‘s home turf.

Obama laughed as he said, “I gotta be honest. I don’t know who Snooki is.”

The applauding audience seemed to forgive him. It’s probably for the best the president devotes his attention elsewhere, even though Snooki has become a force in the markets.

President Barack Obama visited “The View” earlier today, taping an appearance that will air on Thursday.

It marked the first time a sitting U.S. president has been a guest on a daytime talk show.

Obama chatted with Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd about a range of issues — including former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton‘s nuptials this weekend.

“I was not invited to the wedding,” said the president, “because I think Hillary and Bill, properly, want to keep this thing for Chelsea and her soon-to-be husband.”

As for his own family, Obama invoked his wife as a reason for appearing on “The View.”

“Look, I was trying to find a show that Michelle actually watched and so I thought this is it, right here. All those new shows she’s like, eh, let me get the clicker.”

The president also talked about daughters Malia and Sasha, with whom he and the First Lady play a nightly game of “the rose and the thorn,” reflecting on life’s nice moments and difficulties.

Walters asked Obama what the “rose” has been over the past month.

“[It] has to be a couple of days we took in Maine with Michelle and Sasha and Malia,” he answered. “We went on bike rides and hikes and the girls are getting old enough now where they’re not quite teenagers yet, so they still like you… It couldn’t have been a better couple of days.”

“Thorn?” asked Walters.

“Well, where do I begin here?” joked the president to laughter from the audience, before speaking about a range of challenges including the oil spill, two wars, and a slow-to-recover economy.

The full interview will air tomorrow at 11:00 AM on ABC.

Picking up on a wrong report from four days ago - which Gossip Cop already busted - Perez writes, “While Tiger Woods sat in rehab for sex addiction, both President Barack Obama and former President Bill Clinton called the douchebag golfer to cheer him up!!”

After regurgitating an erroneous Golf Digest article, where this mistaken story started, Perez then blurts, “Let’s get our priorities straight, people!! Tiger does NOT need any more coddling!”

Fair enough, but President Obama did NOT — repeat, did NOT – reach out to Tiger Woods. A White House spokesperson yesterday confirmed that the Commander-in-Chief did NOT comfort or contact Woods.

And when it comes to priorities, if someone’s going to do an entertainment blog, he or she should check to see if their stories are accurate before posting them.

“Wow! Tiger Woods Got Phone Calls Of Encouragement From President Obama & Bill Clinton!” reads the headline of yet another HollywoodLife story which seems to focus more on using exclamation points than actually fact-checking.

Citing a Golf Digest article, HollywoodLife writes, “Barack offered words of encouragement to Tiger as he struggles through sex rehab and the current media frenzy.”

Really?

No.

The President did NOT offer Woods “words of encouragement.”

In fact, the White House says the Golf Digest report about President Obama talking to Woods is not true at all.

Golf Digest, HollywoodLife and other outlets, which didn’t bother to fact-check this story, are all off course.

Former President Bill Clinton smiled and waved as he left Columbia Presbyterian hospital this morning, accompanied by his daughter Chelsea Clinton.

He was reportedly in “excellent health,” following his emergency procedure yesterday, and is now resting back home in Chappaqua, N.Y.

Bill Clinton‘s hospitalization earlier today following chest discomfort was successful.

Dr. Allan Schwartz, chief of cardiology at Columbia Presbyterian, told reporters former president Clinton’s heart procedure went “very smoothly.”

Schwartz added that Clinton was “up and walking around and visiting with his family. He’s in good spirits, and we hope to have him go home tomorrow.”

Mrs. Clinton’s scheduled trip to the Middle East will be postponed a couple of days.

President Obama called Clinton to wish him a speedy recovery.

FIRST UPDATE – 6:50PM (2/11/10)

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has left Washington to be with her husband as he recovers from hospitalization in New York.

Sources close to Mrs. Clinton said she still planned to travel to Qatar and Saudi Arabia on Friday as previously scheduled.

She was seen leaving the Oval Office after meeting with President Obama this afternoon when news broke of her husband’s trip to the hospital.

Two stents were installed in one of former president Bill Clinton‘s coronary arteries late this afternoon.

A just released statement from Clinton’s counselor Douglas Band says the patient is in “good spirits.”

“Today President Bill Clinton was admitted to the Columbia Campus of New York Presbyterian Hospital after feeling discomfort in his chest,” reads the statement. “Following a visit to his cardiologist, he underwent a procedure to place two stents in one of his coronary arteries.”

“President Clinton is in good spirits and will continue to focus on the work of his Foundation and Haiti’s relief and long-term recovery efforts.”

ABC News is reporting that former president Bill Clinton has been hospitalized in New York City.

Clinton was rushed to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan for a heart-related condition.

George Stephanopoulos reported it is “likely for a stent procedure.”

Meanwhile, sources told CNN Clinton had experienced chest pains.

A spokeswoman for the hospital had not heard anything yet.

Clinton had quadruple-bypass surgery in 2004.

The all-star “Hope for Haiti Now” telethon raised a record-setting $57 million — and that figure is still rising.

The two-hour telethon, which aired on every network and dozens upon dozen of other stations, drew the biggest names in showbiz to help the island nation, where an estimated 200,000 people died as a result of the January 12 earthquake.

The event was hosted by George Clooney in Los Angeles, Haiti native Wyclef Jean in New York, and featured poignant reports from Anderson Cooper in Haiti.

Among those manning the phones or giving presentations were Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Tom Hanks, Reese Witherspoon, Bill Clinton, Leonardo DiCaprio, Nicole Kidman, Robert Pattinson, Jennifer Aniston, Ellen Degeneres, and Matt Damon, to name a very few.

The fundraiser had several amazing performances by such artists including, Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Bono, Jay-Z, Rihanna, Sting, Jennifer Hudson, Sheryl Crow, Kid Rock, Keith Urban, Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, John Legend, and Shakira.

The money raised was a record, and yet it still doesn’t include donations from corporations or the performed songs that one can download from iTunes for 99 cents.

It has just been announced, “This Week” host George Stephanopoulos is officially replacing Diane Sawyer as co-anchor of “Good Morning America,” beginning this Monday. Stephanopoulos will join Robin Roberts on the morning show.

Stephanopoulos was once an adviser to President Bill Clinton.

ABC said the network would replace Stephanopoulos as host of “This Week.”

Elton John was scheduled to perform last night with Billy Joel at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California, but the concert was scrapped a few days ago because John was still battling an E. coli bacterial infection and the flu. 

Today, Gossip Cop checked in with both his rep and Joel’s spokeswoman, who told us that John is “feeling much better” and has “recovered.” 

So the question is, though he had to cancel a number of performances because of illness, including last night’s, will John still be at his Elton John AIDS Foundation’s “An Enduring Vision” event tomorrow night?

Good news. The musician’s rep confirmed to Gossip Cop that John will definitely be at the fundraiser in New York, which will be hosted by Anderson Cooper, and where President Bill Clinton and Sharon Stone are set to be honored.
