Ben Affleck and his 4-year-old daughter Seraphina were swarmed by paparazzi on Friday, frightening the little girl and leading the Oscar winner to raise his leg to demonstrate how far away the aggressive photographers needed to stay.

Many outlets inaccurately reported that Affleck had attempted to “kick” the photogs.

But the Argo director did not actually get violent with the paparazzi.

Ben Affleck was named Best Director at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards on Thursday, just hours after he was snubbed by the Academy Awards.

The filmmaker failed to score an Oscar nomination from the Academy for his critically-acclaimed movie Argo, only to be rewarded for his efforts by the Broadcast Film Critics Association.

Affleck appeared stunned when his name was read, and went on to allude to this morning’s snub in his acceptance speech.
