Armie Hammer was arrested for marijuana possession in West Texas last November, but no charges have been filed to date.

The actor, who starred in The Social Network and J. Edgar, was detained by authorities in Sierra Blanca after a drug-sniffing dog discovered he had three medicinal pot cookies and one brownie, along with a very small amount (0.02 ounces) of the illegal substance itself.

Hammer spent a day in jail and paid $1,000 bond.

Johnny Depp’s “The Lone Ranger,” has been shut down.

Disney has nixed its big-screen western that was to star Armie Hammer as the Lone Ranger, and Depp as his sidekick, Tonto. The reason for the shut down of the production, which was to begin in October, is that there were problems slashing the film’s $250 million budget to $200 million.

Lily Collins is Snow White in one of two rival films, based on the Brothers Grimm tale. Collins says of her role, “I keep saying to everyone I feel like I’m walking into a snow globe, a fairy tale, every single day.” She also notes to EW.com that her character is “very much that fairy tale princess we’ve all read about in books.”

On the heels of Universal’s announcement that it would move the Kristen Stewart-Chris Hemsworth fairy tale ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ up to June 1, 2012 (from December 2012), Relativity has jumped its own, untitled Snow White project starring Lily Collins to March 16, 2012.

The Battle of the Snow Whites is set for June 2012.

Universal Pictures has moved its Kristen Stewart-Chris Hemsworth ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ to June 1, 2012, beating Relativity Media’s untitled Lily Collins version, due to come out on June 29, 2012.

Hugh Jackman has been offered the lead male role in ‘Snow White and the Huntsman,’ a source close to the actor confirms to Gossip Cop.

He has not yet signed on to the project, which will be directed by Rupert Sanders and is slated to open production later this year.

Kristen Stewart is expected to star in the title role, with Charlize Theron also attached.
