The hit sitcom, rocked by Charlie Sheen’s 2011 meltdown and revived by the addition of Ashton Kutcher, is reportedly set to come back next year for a 10th season.

A finalized deal is expected ahead of the CBS upfront presentation in two weeks.

Ashton Kutcher debuted in front of the “Two and a Half Men” cameras last night, as he taped the first post-Charlie Sheen episode, a season premiere featuring the funeral of Sheen’s Charlie Harper character.

Details about the episode have been kept secret, with scenes reportedly being shot out of sequence and in multiple takes to preserve the mystery.

Series creator and Sheen nemesis Chuck Lorre has not revealed how Harper dies on the show.

Former girlfriends of the show’s Charlie Harper will return for the occasion, and the expected two-part episode will also involve his house being put up for sale.

New addition Ashton Kutcher is supposedly among the potential “buyers,” as are characters from show creator Chuck Lorre’s other series.

Ashton Kutcher’s contract with “Two and a Half Men” is reportedly for just a single year.

The actor is committed to the hit series for the upcoming 2011-12 season only, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The reported one-year deal makes sense, given that CBS has only licensed the show for one more year. If it’s renewed for 2012-13 and beyond, Kutcher and producers could hammer out his own extension.

Jon Cryer has spoken for the first time since it was announced Ashton Kutcher will take Charlie Sheen’s place as his co-star on “Two and a Half Men.” “We are old friends from our male modeling days, and we’re both looking forward to being judged for our comedic artistry, as opposed to our exceptional physical beauty.”

“Ashton is an extraordinarily talented guy, and his presence will be an asset to our show, Cryer says in a statement to People.
