This is great.

Life & Style, the publication that last week falsely claimed Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were definitely set to wed, is backtracking as quickly as possible – with an equally phony premise.

The tabloid now claims that Jolie rejected Pitt’s “marriage dream” because “she wants to stay in control.”

Uh-huh.

Returning to the same Hollywood Reporter interview it already misinterpreted, Life & Style implies that Pitt was actively planning nuptials, only to have Jolie “shut him down quickly – and very coldly.”

“It was a painful and humiliating rebuttal after [Pitt] had dared to go public with his dream of marrying the woman he loves,” explains Life & Style.

The magazine quotes a “friend” as saying, “Angelina is very controlling… By not marrying Brad, she has the upper hand. Right now, she feels like she’s in charge. If they marry, she’d lose that.”

It’s “classic Angelina,” says the tab.

Actually, it’s “classic” Life & Style, which has been publishing quite a few baseless stories about Jolie recently.

A source close to the couple reiterates to Gossip Cop that there were never any wedding plans, and that Jolie and Pitt are very much on the same page about their future.

Angelina Jolie is back in the pages of In Touch, and this time, she’s allegedly a drunken mess!

The magazine, which has written dozens of sensationalized, inaccurate pieces about Jolie and Brad Pitt, now claims the actress-director’s “boozy behavior” at the recent SAG Awards “made them both look like fools.”

What supposedly went down?

“She was downing glass after glass of red wine,” a so-called “family friend” tells the tabloid, adding, “Brad even caught her sneaking sips from a bottle of Grey Goose vodka under the dinner table!”

The publication describes a sloppy and stumbling Jolie barely able to stand by night’s end.

In Touch explains that Jolie gets “uncomfortable and needy” when the couple attends Hollywood events, supposedly upset that Pitt’s focus on her wavers.

“She wants Brad’s attention focused only on her,” says an “insider” for the mag.

At the SAG Awards, therefore, Jolie allegedly hatched a “sneaky scheme” to get “so drunk that Brad had to babysit her.”

Fascinating.

Especially because the ceremony took place two weeks ago, and absolutely no one else at the celeb- and press-packed gala made mention of Jolie’s allegedly humiliating display.

In fact, the only “evidence” In Touch can muster is a cherry-picked photo of Jolie with her eyes half-closed, and a shot of the star next to a Grey Goose bottle.

A source close to the couple laughed off the In Touch story, telling Gossip Cop that Jolie and Pitt both had a great time at the event and that her reported behavior was grossly exaggerated for tabloid effect.

Apparently, Gossip Cop is not the only one weary of endless tabloid rumors involving drama among Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston.

Aniston tells the March issue of InStyle that the most annoying misconception about her is “The triangle with my ex-husband – and that there’s a feud there. It’s constant.”

Adds the Horrible Bosses star, “It’s a story headline that won’t go away, but it’s a money thing – [people make money off] a story that has nothing to do with reality.”

The actress also opens up about Justin Theroux, who’s become tabloid fodder since they become an item while filming Wanderlust together.

Aniston says, “First of all, he has great style—it’s very specific, and it has been his style forever. Has it influenced mine? No, but I know people say it has. ‘Oh, look, you’re dressing alike.’ And I think, No I’m not. I’ve had this jacket for three years!”

The magazine hits newsstands on February 10.

Despite her humanitarian work and their six children, Angelina Jolie has retained some of her wild ways, according to Brad Pitt.

During a Monday sit-down with “CBS This Morning,” Pitt was shown a clip from Jolie’s recent “60 Minutes” interview, in which she said “I’m still a bad girl,” but that that side of her “belongs to Brad” now.

Pitt happily confirmed the description, saying, ”She’s still a bad girl… delightfully so.”

Asked “in what way” by host Charlie Rose, Pitt just grinned and said, “It’s not for public consumption.”

The actor also talked about his globetrotting children, Moneyball and politics.

There seem to have been two major tabloid reactions to Brad Pitt’s recent quotes about how he and Angelina Jolie would “actually like to” get married.

Places like the National Enquirer are using the mere mention of marriage as an opportunity to invent allegations about “pre-marital counseling” bombshells concerning Jolie’s sexual history.

Other publications, such as Life & Style, are taking Pitt’s words and twisting them into a formal wedding announcement.

The magazine claims, “According to the premier entertainment website the Red Pages (which officially lists major events like the Oscars and the Emmys), Brad and Angie’s wedding is set for 2012!”

Life & Style seems to be suggesting that the nuptials are somehow written into the “official” Hollywood calendar, just like major awards ceremonies.

Not satisfied merely to float that bogus interpretation, the tabloid starts speculating about possible wedding guests, gowns and venues.

All of which is very cute… and based on absolutely nothing.

As Gossip Cop has reported before, and as sources close to the couple stress to us again, there are no actual wedding plans for Pitt and Jolie.

They could get married in 2012, just as they could have gotten married at any point during the last seven years, when tabloids constantly announced an imminent wedding that never actually took place.

But when Life & Style and other outlets report that plans are already in the works, it’s simply not true.

“The Hollywood wedding of the century is off!” announces the National Enquirer.

According to the tabloid, Brad Pitt has canceled his nuptials to Angelina Jolie after finding out that she “cheated” on him!

Wait… what?

“Sources” for the Enquirer allege that Pitt “bolted from a pre-marital counseling session” after Jolie supposedly admitted to “being with another man after she met him” and making “other shocking revelations.”

A so-called “insider” claims that Pitt and Jolie met with a “trusted family confidante” to discuss issues that “could impact the marriage.”

That’s when Jolie purportedly “dropped the bomb” that she “met men in hotel rooms” after she and Pitt famously fell in love while filming Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

The Enquirer claims that Pitt was furious about the “complete betrayal” and “stormed out of the session.”

According to the magazine’s source, the confessional “left a bad taste in Brad’s mouth. Now he’s not only rethinking the marriage but also the entire relationship.”

Until Pitt “sorts through his feelings, he’s called off the marriage,” says the insider.

OK.

Let’s come back to reality.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie never had a “marriage” planned.

He recently suggested that it could happen one day – but that’s as far as it ever went.

There was no wedding to “call off” and no “pre-marital counseling session” for Pitt to leave angry.

As a source close to the couple tells Gossip Cop, the story about Jolie’s supposed bombshell and Pitt’s reaction is a total fabrication.

Earlier this month, Us Weekly published a bogus report claiming that George Clooney “doesn’t like” Angelina Jolie, and that Jolie supposedly snubbed Clooney’s girlfriend Stacy Keibler on a recent flight.

The rumored group tension seemed to come out of nowhere, because, in fact, it came out of nowhere.

As Gossip Cop reported, there have been no bad feelings or uncomfortableness between Jolie and either Clooney or Keibler.

When the trio and Brad Pitt posed happily for photographs at Sunday’s SAG Awards, Us Weekly could have simply acknowledged that the quartet was having a good time at the event.

Instead, the outlet doubled down, deeming the pictures “awkward” and repeating the wrong allegations about Jolie and Keibler’s supposedly chilly jet trip.

As a close friend of Keibler tells Gossip Cop, it could not be further from the truth.

Jolie is “nothing but warm and wonderful to Stacy,” we’re told, and the feelings are mutual.

Us Weekly‘s characterization of the happy quartet as “awkward” is, like those previous stories, “100% false.”

Looking at the pictures from Sunday (another is below), it’s hard to disagree.

While Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie know that a huge part of what’s written about them is garbage, their children have been protected from seeing it firsthand.

“On all the kids’ computers we had our names blocked,” Pitt tells Bild in Germany.

He explains, “They can’t Google their mom and dad. I don’t want to make myself dependent on what other people think.”

What the kids themselves think, of course, is another matter entirely.

As Pitt said in a recent interview, he and Jolie may get married sooner than they thought, because “it means so much to my kids, and they ask a lot.”

This one’s a laugh.

In Touch magazine is wondering whether Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are getting the “7-year itch” and could be “the next couple to split.”

Of course, the tabloid has spent what seems like 7 years writing story after story, week after week, about the allegedly imminent demise of Jolie and Pitt’s relationship.

In Touch claimed they were on the brink of separation back in 2009, and the mag has since repeated the same rumor dozens of times, regardless of the facts.

Here we are again.

A so-called “source” tells the tab that Pitt and Jolie have “fallen victim to the dreaded seven-year itch (which just killed Heidi Klum and Seal’s marriage and destroyed Brad’s relationship with Jen Aniston!).”

Wait a minute.

In Touch is now using the completely unrelated Klum-Seal split as an indicator that Jolie and Pitt are about to call it quits?

“They’re tired and the passion has faded,” explains the mag’s source.

Actually, it seems like In Touch is just too “tired” to bother coming up with new angles on celebrity news.

As Gossip Cop has reported throughout the tabloid’s endless campaign to break up Jolie and Pitt, and as a source close to the couple assures us once again, they are perfectly “happy” in their relationship.

In Touch should pick another “itch” to scratch.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie may not wait until gay marriage is legalized to have their own wedding, after all.

“We’d actually like to [get married], and it seems to mean more and more to our kids,” he says in a wide-ranging cover interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

He adds, “We made this declaration some time ago that we weren’t going to do it till everyone can. But I don’t think we’ll be able to hold out. It means so much to my kids, and they ask a lot.”

As for adding to their brood, Pitt says he and Jolie “haven’t closed the book on it.”

“There’s a really nice balance in the house right now, but if we see the need and get the lightning bolt that says, ‘We can help this person; we could do something here,’ then absolutely,” explains the Moneyball star.

Pitt also reflects on a past that was not always so personally fulfilling.

He recalls, “I got really sick of myself at the end of the 1990s: I was hiding out from the celebrity thing; I was smoking way too much dope; I was sitting on the couch and just turning into a doughnut; and I really got irritated with myself.”

The actor got his second wind – and mostly dropped pot – after an eye-opening visit to Morocco.

“[I] decided to get off the couch,” he says.

In terms of politics, Pitt is in President Obama’s corner, although he’s been following the Republican debates.

“I’m an Obama supporter, no question,” says Pitt. “But it doesn’t mean there’s nothing to learn from the other side.”

Angelina Jolie is 98 pounds, pregnant and going to rehab, claims Star magazine.

It’s all part of the tabloid’s strategy of squeezing as many rumors into one cover story as possible!

According to “insiders” for Star, “Pregnant Angelina Jolie is facing a frightening health crisis that has her partner, Brad Pitt, begging her to get the help she desperately needs.”

Huh?

The article starts with the premise that Jolie is “expecting the couple’s third biological child” (not true) but that her “weight has plummeted” (not true) and now Pitt is “urging her to enter rehab” (not true).

Star’s bogus story is filled out with the same endlessly repeated – and never validated – details about how exhausted Jolie’s responsibilities have left her, and how she’s “on the brink” of disaster.

One year ago, the same tabloid shamed itself with a bait-and-switch cover story claiming that a “heroin shocker” would land Jolie in “rehab.”

That allegation was nonsense, as have been a number of the mag’s recent stories about Jolie, including last week’s assertion that she and Pitt were about to “split.”

Exasperated sources close to the couple assure Gossip Cop that she is not pregnant, not going to rehab, and not down to 98 pounds.

“Brad & Angelina on the Verge of a Split,” reads the headline of yet another Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie misfire from Star.

According to the magazine, “Insiders fear that the high-profile pair are headed for a split because both are sick and tired of constantly fighting about even the smallest detail.”

Of course, this is same tabloid that reported last week that the couple was “barely speaking to each other” over Christmas (WRONG), and the week before that claimed, “Angelina Walks Out After Discovering the Truth About Brad’s Baby with Another Woman” (COMPLETE FICTION).

In this week’s installment from Star, a so-called “source” tells the mag, Pitt and Jolie “are in totally different places,” with the “free spirit Angelina” wanting to explore the world, while “homebody Brad” wants to retire and take care of the kids.

Then writes the tab, “A separation might not be permanent,” adding a quote from its made-up source saying, “It might just be a case of testing the theory that absence really does make the heart grow fonder.”

Well, absence of facts does not make Gossip Cop’s heart grow any fonder of Star.

For starters, they are not separated.

They are not “testing” their relationship.

They are not “constantly fighting.”

Star has been consistently wrong about Pitt and Jolie.

As Gossip Cop personally witnessed at the Golden Globes, the couple is perfectly fine.

In fact, on Saturday night, they two were pictured (above) smiling together at the Producers Guild Awards in Beverly Hills.

Regardless, a Brangelina insider tells us Star’s story is  ”It’s not true. They’re happy.”

The world’s leading provider of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie fan fiction is at it again!

When we last left In Touch, the magazine was wrongly alleging that the couple’s son Pax was “out of control” and a “wild child.”

Now, says In Touch, it’s Jolie supposedly having the tantrums!

According to the tabloid, things got ugly earlier this month on the Palm Springs International Film Festival’s red carpet, when an “animated and friendly” Jolie suddenly “went cold” when reporters asked about the condition of Pitt’s injured knee.

“Everybody’s been making too big a deal about a cane,” said Jolie, adding, “Seriously, there are so many other things you should be focusing on in the world.”

Later, Pitt had to pull Jolie inside for the ceremony because she was still signing autographs for fans.

Somehow, In Touch uses these two details as evidence of Jolie “act[ing] out” as part of a “jealous meltdown.”

Confused?

That’s because it makes zero sense!

The magazine insists Jolie’s “odd behavior” concerning Pitt is because she’s “deeply jealous” of his success with Moneyball and The Tree of Life.

Supposedly frustrated about a lack of attention for her directorial debut, In The Land of Blood and Honey, Jolie isn’t supporting Pitt and instead has started “acting more like a bitter rival,” says In Touch.

One “friend” tells the tabloid, “She’s been acting resentful and impatient. It’s a shame.”

Uh, no.

The “shame” here is that In Touch thinks it can get away with labeling Jolie a “jealous” monster based on the facts that she signed autographs and downplayed Pitt’s injury.

There’s been no actual evidence – on the red carpet or elsewhere – that Jolie is anything but thrilled for the positive attention Pitt’s been getting so far during awards season.

A source close to the couple laughed off the In Touch fabrication, telling Gossip Cop, “as usual, it’s totally untrue.”

“Pregnant Jennifer Aniston is terrified that she’ll end up alone again, after her boyfriend Justin Theroux stormed out on her during a holiday getaway gone wrong,” reads the opening of this week’s Star magazine cover story.

Yes, the tabloid manages to squeeze two wrong claims into the very first sentence!

Theroux did not run out on Aniston over the holidays, and she is not pregnant.

But that’s not where Star’s claims end!

The “heated blowup” with Theroux allegedly left Aniston “so shaken,” she “broke down in tears and told her ex-husband, Brad Pitt, that she wants him back.”

Star says Aniston and Pitt had a long heart-to-heart (what, was the tabloid listening in?) during which the actress supposedly blurted out: “I miss you. I want you back!”

“Brad tried to soothe Jen by confessing that he and [Angelina Jolie] were also having problems,” a so-called “friend” tells the magazine. “He thought it would help Jen see that all couples have ups and downs, but now she’s thinking he’ll leave Angie for her.”

Oh, and one other thing.

When Theroux and Aniston appeared – together and happy – at a January 9 film screening, reports Star, she “conspicuously covered up her telltale baby bump.”

Uh-huh.

In other words, no one has actually seen Theroux and Aniston having a huge blowup, nor has anyone seen any signs that Aniston is pregnant.

That’s because neither is true.

As much as the tabloids want Aniston to be “pregnant and alone,” heartbroken over an alleged fight with Theroux and yearning for a reunion with Pitt… there’s no truth to any of this.

A source close to Aniston laughed off Star’s desperate speculation.

“Angelina Snubs Stacy,” reads a headline from Us Weekly, which goes on to claim that Angelina Jolie was extremely rude to George Clooney’s girlfriend, Stacy Keibler, when the couple shared a private jet with Jolie and Brad Pitt to the Palm Springs Film Festival on January 7.

According to a source for the mag, “Angelina refused to acknowledge that Stacy was even on the plane.”

The supposed insider notes that Jolie “went out of her way to ignore her from takeoff to landing,” adding, “She would not even look Stacy’s way. She was not having it!”

Another “insider” chimes in that it’s no surprise Jolie “iced out” Keibler, because “Angie is really not a girlie girl.”

Uh-huh.

Keep in mind that this is the same publication which reported that Clooney “doesn’t like” Jolie, even though the actor himself told the mag there was “not one word of truth” to the claim.

And who is this supposed “insider” providing observations from the private plane ride? The pilot?

Just like the mag’s claims about Clooney allegedly hating Jolie, this tale about the actress snubbing Keibler is… full of hot air.

A source close to Keibler tells Gossip Cop the story is “totally false.”

The magazine reports that the Golden Globe winner “thinks Angelina is boring and not great company.”

What’s more, says Us, “He does not like to spend time with her,” and prefers hanging alone with Jolie’s partner, Brad Pitt.

Clooney’s response to the reporting, obtained by Gossip Cop, is quite direct.

In her first ever live video web chat, Angelina Jolie dropped a bombshell.

She revealed that she suffered a “complete meltdown” in 2010, prior to filming her directorial debut, In The Land of Blood and Honey.

“I had a complete emotional breakdown in the shower and Brad found me crying,” recalled Jolie.

The actress-turned-director explained that the “huge responsibility”of making the movie made her feel “very small.”

Jolie explained that her doubts led her to wonder, “Who am I to take this on?’ And think that I could make a difference? ‘What have I done?’”

According to Star magazine, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt got into a huge fight over Christmas.

“Sources” for the tabloid claim the alleged “clash” between Jolie and Pitt happened when their daughter Shiloh came home from school one day and asked “why they’re not married.”

What followed began as a “deep discussion” before escalating into a “full-blown argument,” says Star, to the point where the couple was “barely speaking” by Christmas.

(Wow, it’s been a big day for tabs getting carried away with stories involving the Jolie-Pitt children!)

Regardless, the reported Christmas clash is completely “false,” sources close to the family tell Gossip Cop.

Given that Star wrongly claimed way back in December 2009 that Jolie and Pitt had waged “The Fight to End All Fights!” over their Thanksgiving plans that year, maybe the tabloid should reconsider its next manufactured holiday-themed Brangelina battle.

It’s nice to see that In Touch magazine, a babbling brook of endless Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt tall tales, has extended its “expertise” to their children.

In particular, the tabloid seems to have a real problem with eight-year-old Pax.

Last August, In Touch labeled Pax a “bully,” blaming a difficult early childhood in Vietnam for his “aggression.”

Now a new article in the magazine insists Jolie and Pitt “have a problem on their hands” with “wild child” Pax.

He’s “proving to be more than a handful for the duo,” says an “insider” for In Touch, adding that Pax is “out of control.”

“Pax always bullies older brother Maddox and little sister Shiloh,” explains the so-called “insider,” going on to say, “He wants to show them how strong he is and how he can fight like the men they see in action films.”

Is this for real?

In Touch thinks that an eight-year-old boy’s mimicry of action stars is newsworthy and somehow evidence that he’s become a major behavioral problem?

He’s a little boy.

Sometimes he roughhouses with his siblings.

That’s the beginning and end of it.

A source close to the family laughed off In Touch‘s newest claims about there being a serious issue with Pax, calling them “absurd.”

The power couple was spotted inside the Oval Office, where Jolie discussed with the President her work for preventing mass atrocities and combating sexual violence against women.

Brad Pitt walked the red carpet at the Palm Springs International Film Festival awards gala on Saturday night with the help of a cane.

Standing along with his partner Angelina Jolie, Pitt said he injured his ACL, a ligament in the knee.

The Moneyball star explained, ”I was carrying my daughter [Vivienne] down the hill [while on ski slopes] and I slipped,” noting, “It was either her or me” that was going to get hurt.

Fortunately, Vivienne is “absolutely fine,” said Jolie, adding, “I like the cane.”

And that’s good because Pitt said that, while he won’t need surgery, he’ll be relying on the cane for some time.

Angelina Jolie is allegedly hoping to beat Jennifer Aniston to the delivery room with a “plot to steal Jen’s baby joy.”

According to OK! magazine, Jolie is “fiercely competitive” with Aniston, not only because of Brad Pitt “but also over the romantic comedy queen’s massive, generally positive press coverage.”

The tabloid insists that her rivalry with Aniston is leading Jolie to move forward with her baby plans.

“Don’t get me wrong, Angie’s having a child because she wants one,” explains a so-called “insider” for the mag. “But part of her can’t wait to steal Jen’s thunder.”

The “source” adds that Jolie “knows a Brangelina baby would be the best revenge of all.”

OK! says the question for Aniston now is “Will Angelina psych her out?”

“She’s sick of getting calls asking her if she knows about Brangelina baby number seven,” says a so-called “friend” of Aniston. “It’s a real kick in the teeth.”

Uh-huh.

It’s time to douse these tabloid flames with some reality.

Contrary to reports, Aniston and Justin Theroux are not expecting a baby.

And contrary to OK! mag’s own drivel, Jolie and Pitt have no timetable for another baby.

Last September, the shaky tabloid announced in a cover story that Jolie and Aniston were “racing” to the altar, trying to outdo each other with weddings before the end of 2011.

That never happened, of course, because OK! fabricated the whole thing.

It’s the same case with this new story about Jolie trying to have a baby before Aniston.

Sources close to both parties tell Gossip Cop – again – that there are NO PLANS for pregnancy for either star.

It’s time for OK! to “plot” a more believable report.

“Angelina Jolie is quite the self-promoter!” begins a piece from Us Weekly, which goes on to claim that the actress has been aggressively campaigning for her directorial debut to win at the Golden Globes this month.

According to a so-called “source” for the mag, Jolie “recently called members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association [HFPA] to persuade them to vote for her grim war-set drama, In the Land of Blood and Honey, for best foreign-language film.”

The supposed source says, “Angie put on the charm,” noting, “She started by saying ‘Hi, this is Angelina Jolie. I want to wish you a happy holiday!’ Then she said how rewarding it was to direct.”

“She’s determined to win!” adds the source.

But did the actress-director, humanitarian and mom of six really individually call members of the HFPA to campaign for a Golden Globes win?

Absolutely NOT.

A rep for the HFPA tells Gossip Cop, “There’s no truth to this.”

And the award for most accurate story does not go to Us Weekly.

New year, same Star magazine nonsense.

This week, the tabloid ups the ridiculousness with a cover story about Angelina Jolie walking out on Brad Pitt after she learned about his “bombshell secret” involving a “baby with another woman!”

Wow!

So where did this alleged “drama” start?

With that bizarre, unverified story about the late talent agent Sue Mengers once advising Jennifer Aniston to “ask Brad for some of his sperm” after they split.

Wait… what?

Star can’t POSSIBLY be trying to turn that random tidbit into a full-fledged cover report about Pitt actually having a secret baby with Aniston, right?

Oh, yes they are!

“A seething Angelina confronted her mate about the news and accused him of hatching a plan with Jen behind her back to have a baby together,” a so-called “insider” tells the tabloid.

That revelation supposedly led Pitt to admit to Jolie that he and Aniston had once tried to have a child while they were still a couple.

The Star source says that Jolie “felt betrayed” and “started driving to the airport but stopped because she couldn’t bring herself to leave the kids.”

For his part, Pitt “never imagined this would infuriate Angie to the extent that it has,” explains the mag’s insider. “Now it could spell the end of them forever.”

Good grief.

How did Star print this scenario with a straight face?

Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston never hatched a secret baby plan behind Angelina Jolie’s back.

Aniston does not have Pitt’s sperm in her freezer.

A rep for Aniston tells Gossip Cop the claim that she asked Pitt for his sperm is “ridiculous and clearly not true.”

And Jolie never stormed out on Pitt, feeling “betrayed” over any “bombshell.”

Sources close to the couple laugh off the report, calling it “100 percent false.”

Good to know Star is picking up right where it left off in 2011.

Jonah Hill celebrated his 28th birthday with some big-name friends.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie joined Hill for the party at La Descarga in Hollywood, along with Zooey Deschanel.

Hill and Pitt, of course, became pals while filming Moneyball – to the point that Pitt let Hill stay in his New Orleans home for several months during production on 21 Jump Street.

Neither Hill’s faux enemy Matthew Morrison nor the “super disgusting” Kardashians (as he called them) were anywhere to be seen.

A number of totally bogus rumors spread in 2011. Here are some of the worst to cross Gossip Cop’s desk:

1. Katie Holmes “Drug Shocker”

Holmes slapped Star with a $50 million lawsuit after it ran a cover story claiming she was addicted to a Scientology treatment that had “an effect similar to heroin!” As part of the settlement, the tabloid was forced to eat its words and issue an apology to Holmes inside the mag.

2. Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Split

In August, the couple slammed an In Touch report that they had separated after 13 years of marriage.

3. Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart Getting Married

If the tabloids weren’t declaring the Twilight stars broken up, then they were getting engaged and planning a secret wedding. Of course, none of the stories had a ring of truth to them.

4. Kourtney Kardashian Giving Baby to Sister Khloe

MediaTakeOut absurdly claimed a pregnant Kourtney was considering giving her baby to Khloe for a new reality show.

5. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Relationship Trouble

By the tabloids’ count, the couple was on the verge of breaking up approximately 50 times this year. They remained happily together through it all.

6. Celebrity Death Hoaxes

Lady Gaga, Jon Bon Jovi, Adam Sandler, Will Smith, Eddie Murphy and a slew of other celebs were victims of death hoaxes, most often begun by the Global Associated News.

7. Jennifer Aniston Pregnant

By the tabloids’ count, the actress has now been pregnant on at least four different occasions. We’re anxiously awaiting the announcement(s)!

8. Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds Dating

The mags were obsessed with trying to make this couple happen, even going to far as to claim Reynolds was adopting Bullock’s baby. But they NEVER dated.

9. Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez Engaged

A sparkly ring on Gomez’s finger led clueless sites like HollywoodLife to wonder if Bieber had popped the question. In actuality, Gomez – like most women – just has an affinity for sparkly jewelry.

10. Taylor Lautner Comes Out On People Cover

A photoshopped People magazine cover appeared to show the Twilight star announcing he was “out and proud.” But the cover, a manipulated version of a 2006 issue, was “absolutely fake.”

According to the National Enquirer, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have prohibited bad words in their home.

“The stars just laid down a strict ban on cursing that applies to them, their six children – and even old family friends who drop by to visit,” claims the tabloid item.

And it’s not just F-bombs Jolie and Pitt have supposedly sworn off.

Allegedly, no one in their home is allowed to call anyone else “stupid” or say “I hate you!” – otherwise, it’s household chores for the kids and steep $1,000 fines for adults.

But while it’s admirable that Jolie and Pitt would promote clean speech in the house (like many parents do), the Enquirer – last seen alleging that Jolie is a pill addict – got a little carried away with its reporting on this story.

Sources close to the couple tell Gossip Cop that friends and acquaintances walking into the Jolie-Pitt residence are not in danger of anteing up a thousand dollars for letting a curse slip.

We’re told the family has always encouraged polite behavior – but that the Enquirer rumor is mostly “bulls**t.”

Thankfully we didn’t use that dirty word – we can’t afford it!

“As their films face off in theaters, a battle is brewing between director divas Angelina Jolie and Madonna,” claims Star magazine.

Oh?

Do tell!

According to the tabloid’s “source,” Jolie has been “taking potshots” at Madonna at every opportunity, furious that people have been “drawing comparisons” between her and the Material Girl.

Um… what?

Who, exactly, is comparing the two?

Star never says.

(Because Star made it up!)

Apparently, since Jolie’s In the Land of Blood and Honey and Madonna’s W.E. are both getting attention, and because they’re both famous women, that means there simply must be some kind of horrible feud between them.

“Angie considers Madonna a nuisance and a distraction from her own work,” reports the so-called “source” for the tab, adding that Jolie “said Madonna has no talent whatsoever for filmmaking and that W.E. is a big-screen joke.”

As background, Star cites criticism of such Madonna “cinematic failures” as Swept Away and Body of Evidence.

One tiny problem: Madonna did not direct either of those movies.

Star wants us to believe that Angelina Jolie is upset about imaginary directorial comparisons being drawn between her and Madonna because the singer once appeared in a couple of mediocre films?

According to Star, “Madonna reached out to Angie, suggesting they get together to discuss moviemaking,” only to have Jolie reject her.

That never happened.

A rep for Madonna tells Gossip Cop it’s “totally fabricated” nonsense.

Meanwhile, sources close to Jolie inform Gossip Cop that there’s been absolutely no tension between her and Madonna – about their movies or otherwise.

It seems to us like Star can’t envision two high-profile female directors being at peace with each other and decided to fan the flames of controversy.

DoSomething.org has revealed its annual “Celebs Gone Good” list of charitable celebrities.

Lady Gaga was named #1 for the second year in a row, beating out Justin Bieber, who jumped from #10 to #2.

Both stars are well known for their philanthropy projects, such as Gaga’s newly-announced Born This Way Foundation and Bieber’s many donations.

Several couples – and former couples – made the list, including Angelina Jolie and partner Brad Pitt (#8) as well as Demi Moore and her estranged husband Ashton Kutcher (#12).

Just one athlete was honored for his charity work: NBA star Dwight Howard.

“Angie’s Shocking Baby News,” blares the OK! magazine headline this week, promising a bombshell about Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s family.

So what’s the big scoop?

According to the tabloid, Jolie and Pitt “want a new baby in 2012.”

Wait, that’s the “news”?

“She and Brad have talked at length,” says a so-called “confidante” of the couple. “There’s no doubt in anyone’s mind that she’ll have another child.”

In other words, OK! is speculating that Jolie and Pitt might add to their family in the next 12 months.

That’s a far cry from the days (more than two years ago) when the tabloid insisted that Jolie was adopting a baby from Syria without Pitt.

Now, though, OK! is sure that she plans to give birth herself “despite her previous high-risk pregnancies.”

As “evidence” of this development, the mag quotes recent interviews in which Pitt and Jolie both suggest that another child is always a possibility.

But that’s neither shocking nor news - Pitt and Jolie have repeatedly indicated that they may add to their brood.

That said, sources close to the couple tell Gossip Cop there’s absolutely no timetable for adding to the family, nor does Jolie have specific plans to get pregnant in 2012.
