Thursday’s “American Idol” picked up right where Wednesday’s episode terrifyingly concluded, when contestant Symone Black crashed from the stage after finishing her Hollywood Week performance.

On tonight’s episode, viewers found out that Black had fainted, but regained consciousness shortly after as medics and crew tended to her.

When she was able to stand again, Black received applause from her fellow competitors.

She was then sent to the hospital with her dad to be checked.

“Hopefully I’ll be ready to pick it back up,” Black says on her way to the hospital.

She soon returns to the “Idol” set after being told “dehydration” was to blame for her frightening collapse.

But whether the aspiring singer will remain in the competition or be eliminated during the group round won’t be revealed until next week.

While Hollywood Week on “American Idol” is usually known for its tension, one contestant managed to lighten things up, while simultaneously showing off his impressive voice.

Reed Grimm, who sang the “Family Matters” theme song during his initial audition, switched to a famous movie tune for his latest performance.

On Wednesday’s episode, Grimm sang the appropriately-titled “I’ve Got A Golden Ticket” from Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory.

The move was well-received by the judges and Grimm’s fellow competitors.

Well, at least “American Idol” can’t be accused of pandering to its celebrity fans.

After a memorable first audition by Jim Carrey’s daughter Jane, the aspiring singer was eliminated on Wednesday’s “American Idol.”

Jane’s dismissal came after a self-described “shaky” performance during Day One of Hollywood Week.

“I’m really disappointed with myself,” she said after getting the bad news.

“American Idol” ended on a scary note Wednesday when the final featured contestant took a tumble right off the stage.

Symone Black had just finished singing for the first round of Hollywood Week and was chatting with the judges when she seemed to lose her balance and crashed to the floor below.

Black’s father, who was watching from the balcony, rushed to his daughter’s aid as Steven Tyler could be heard saying, “She hit her head.”

A crew member immediately called for a medic, who was then seen putting Black into a head brace just as the episode ended.

Adam Lambert said on Twitter Friday night that his recent comments on performing with Queen as their new frontman have been taken out of context.

According to an interview with the Daily Star, Lambert said he would go on tour as the band’s new lead singer, the throne once held by rock icon Freddie Mercury.

He supposedly told the paper, “The intention is to pay tribute to Freddie and the band by singing some f*cking great songs. It’s to keep the music alive for the fans and give it an energy that Freddie would have been proud of.”

Lambert reportedly added, “There’s no intention in my mind of replacing Freddie. That’s impossible.”

But the “American Idol” runner-up tweeted Friday night, “Oooh them clever reporters takin my quotes outta context…. I haven’t confirmed any guest appearances. I was talking about the EMA’S. :)”

Lambert, who first met the band’s members Brian May and Roger Taylor when they performed “We Are the Champions” during his “Idol” finals in 2009, also performed with them at the MTV EMAs last November.

The singer added, “That being said, I’m truly flattered by your jump to such glorious conclusions mr journalist!! :)”

Mercury passed away in 1991 due to bronchopneumonia resulting from AIDS.

Gossip Cop has reached out to a rep for Lambert for comment, but has not heard back.

It looks like the rivalry between “American Idol” and “The Voice” won’t be going away anytime soon.

After Randy Jackson recently implied that “The Voice” is for failed singers who want a “second chance,” the judges on the NBC competition were none too pleased.

“Shame on Randy Jackson for saying that, because he out of anybody should know that if you’re in this business you need second, third, fourth and fifth chances,” Adam Levine says on Friday’s “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”

Jackson originally made his comments during the Television Critics Association’s Winter press tour last month.

He told reporters, “The winner of ‘The Voice,’ as I will remind you, was an artist who had a deal on Capitol for many years – a failed contract over there – so for that show it was almost like second chance people, it wasn’t like some new artist. It’s a different thing.”

During Levine’s response on “Ellen,” he points out that Jackson’s own career was given new life thanks to the hit Fox series.

“He was a working musician for a long time and had a lot of success and then the show ‘Idol’ kind of blew him out of the water,” Levine explains. “And he is a household name now.”

“It was an irresponsible thing to say that,” he adds.

The very last audition round on the new season of “American Idol” featured “one of the best female voices” the judges have heard in their quest to find the next big star.

That voice belonged to Lauren Gray, a 22-year-old who plays in a band with her father when they’re not working in their “one-stop wedding shop.”

Gray showed off her vocal prowess by taking on Adele‘s “One And Only.”

“American Idol” judge Steven Tyler was moved to tears and got “all crazy inside” after watching Reis Kloeckener‘s audition on Thursday’s episode.

The teen, who revealed that he’s been bullied in high school, said his “life turned around” when he joined the choir and met a great group of people.

Perhaps his new-found friends inspired his song choice: the classic “Lean On Me.”

The very first St. Louis audition shown on Thursday’s “American Idol” received one of the most enthusiastic responses from the judges that we’ve seen yet.

Johnny Keyser, a 22-year-old student and waiter, blew the panel away as he sang Sam Cooke‘s “A Change Is Gonna Come.”

While Steven Tyler wanted to vote “yes” before Keyser was even finished, Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson told him to “keep singing” just so they could hear more of his striking voice.

“American Idol” contestant Romeo Diahn has come a long way for his chance at Hollywood.

The Liberian’s family fled civil war in their home country to live in a refugee camp in Ghana.

Now they’re in the United States, and Diahn is pursuing a career in music, singing Bob Marley’s “Is This Love” for his audition.

But even though his story is amazing, one judge was still a little hesitant about sending him through.

One of the more emotional auditions on Wednesday’s “American Idol” belonged to Jessica Phillips, who talked about helping her longtime boyfriend recover from a devastating stroke.

Less than a year since the medical emergency, Phillips’ boyfriend is still undergoing speech therapy, and she’s become his caretaker.

But the couple is eager to get back to the very thing that brought them together: music.

Phillips’ song of choice was “Again” by Faith Evans.

Viewers might have done a double-take during Wednesday’s “American Idol,” which showcased a striking young blond and her two young sons.

But it wasn’t Britney Spears trying out in Portland, Oregon.

It was look-alike Britnee Kellogg, who teared up while telling the judges about her philandering ex-husband.

Kellogg channeled that emotion in her take on Linda Ronstadt‘s “You’re No Good.”

“American Idol” executive producer Nigel Lythgoe was so impressed with President Obama’s rendition of Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together” that he’s invited the Commander-in-Chief to perform on the reality show.

Lythgoe tweeted on Monday, ”@BarackObama we loved your vocal performance so much we’d love to invite you on to #AmericanIdol this Season for a duet with Al Green.”

Obama debuted his stellar singing talents during a fundraiser at Harlem’s Apollo Theater earlier this month.

According to Reality Weekly, Jennifer Lopez beau Casper Smart is angling for a role on “American Idol.”

Smart’s “ambition” has Lopez insiders “worried,” reports the same publication that recently spread wrong rumors about the sexuality of “Jersey Shore” star The Situation.

One so-called J. Lo “insider” tells the tabloid, “He’s made no secret that he really wants to be famous. He told her he’d love to be a guest judge on the show.”

The Reality Weekly source adds, “He pushed to be introduced to her fellow judges on Idol, which happened in December in Vegas.”

Uh-huh.

It sounds like what actually happened is that Smart met his girlfriend’s colleagues, and the magazine decided to put new spin on an already debunked report about Lopez getting him a job on “American Idol.”

As Gossip Cop has reported, Smart is not working on the show, and, regardless of his ambitions, there’s no anxiety in the Lopez camp about him using her to get an “Idol” gig.

Unfortunately, that means Smart will miss out on stuff like this.

Ramiro Garcia used to be a mute, but you wouldn’t know it from his “American Idol” audition.

The Houston, Texas worship leader revealed on Thursday’s episode that he was born with no ears, rendering him unable to hear and talk.

But with the help of several surgeries, beginning at age 4, Garcia turned into a lovely singer.

He was one of 54 contestants to get a ticket to Hollywood during the Galveston, Texas auditions.

It was deja vu for Baylie Brown during Thursday’s episode of “American Idol.”

The 21-year-old first auditioned for the show during its sixth season, at age 16.

She made it to Hollywood, only to get eliminated during the group round when she forgot the words during a performance.

Now, Brown came to Galveston, Texas to try again.

“American Idol” offered its most bizarre audition so far this season on Wednesday’s episode, which featured a man named Magic Cyclops.

The self-professed singer, supposedly from Iowa even though he spoke with a British-sounding accent, stunned the judges with his rendition of Neil Diamond’s “Cracklin Rose.”

Randy Jackson seemed so confused and offended that he actually walked out.

Needless to say, Magic Cyclops was not one of the 31 contestants who received tickets to Hollywood during the Aspen, Colorado auditions.

The “American Idol” judges battled it on Wednesday’s episode, where they disagreed over the talents of Angie Zeiderman.

After the “show-tuney” performance of “If You Got It, Flaunt It” from The Producers, Jennifer Lopez tried to convince Randy Jackson that Zeiderman deserved to go to Hollywood.

“How many people come in here and can do what she just did?” Lopez asked, before encouraging the 25-year-old to sing again.

Lopez explained, “I just wanna shut him up!”

Simon Cowell has split from his fiancee of two years, Mezhgan Hussainy.

“The X Factor” creator revealed the news in an interview with the Daily Mail, saying, “We have had a break from each other.”

Cowell tells the paper, “It is quite a complicated relationship… We are still incredibly close,” adding, “It’s not on, it’s not off, it’s somewhere in the middle. I don’t know if I will ever get married, but I am happy.”

He also says he regrets gushing about Hussainy on “Piers Morgan Tonight” at the time of their 2010 engagement, when he called her “the one,” explaining, “I have been pretty good about not talking about my private stuff, but I got caught up in the moment.”

Cowell and Hussainy met in 2003 when she was a makeup artist on “American Idol.”

“American Idol” viewers were first introduced to a woman who said she was a mom and a waitress, but then revealed she’s also Jim Carrey’s daughter, Jane.

Jennifer Lopez had a little bit of a freak-out because she remembered Jane as a baby from when the “American Idol” judge and Jim Carrey were both on “In Living Color.”

The younger Carrey noted that ever since she was a kid she’s been a “huge ham,” and that she loves to be onstage.

She added that being the daughter of a famous actor “definitely helps and hurts,” explaining, “There’s this pressure to be better” because people will invariably think she got to where she is because of her last name.

Jane then performed “Something to Talk About,” and was voted onto the next round.

Moments later she was shown on her cell phone with her dad, who congratulated her and said, “This is really going to be an exciting year.”

The expectations were low when University of California, Berkeley frat boy Kyle Crews walked into his “American Idol” audition with his Seth Rogen demeanor and not-so-cool plaid shirt. But when he started to sing Monica’s “Angel of Mine,” the judges were blown away.

Steven Tyler said Crews had “the best male voice we’ve heard yet… unreal.”

Randy Jackson told the contestant, “You sound nothing like you look… Kyle, you can sing, dude.”

And Jennifer Lopez loved Crews, too.

Hallie Day brought some refreshing honesty – along with an interesting set of pipes – to her “American Idol” audition.

As seen on Thursday’s episode, the Baltimore native (trying out in Pittsburgh) revealed she hit “rock bottom” several years prior when a suicide attempt landed her in the emergency room.

Now happily married and working as a waitress, Day infused her audition with some of her hard-earned life experience.

Her song of choice? Gloria Gaynor‘s “I Will Survive.”

Though the judges seemed mixed at first and asked Day to sing a second time, they ultimately unanimously decided to send her to Hollywood.

Asked Randy Jackson, “You know what’s wrong with this girl, Steven?”

“Absolutely nothing,” Tyler replied.

On Thursday’s episode, Reed Grimm‘s take on “As Days Go By” initially caught the judges off-guard, but left them thoroughly impressed in the end.

It was an “American Idol” first on Thursday, when one contestant auditioned while her sister was planking on the floor in front of her.

That’s right – planking.

Samantha Novacek, who perhaps ironically was singing former “Idol” winner Carrie Underwood’s “Flat On The Floor,” belted it out while sibling Patty was spread out, well, flat on the floor.

Both the judges and viewer seemed bemused – “Patty the Pittsburgh Planker” started trending on Twitter and Randy Jackson said he liked 19-year-old Samantha’s “vibe.”

Jennifer Lopez is using her Hollywood stardom to find work for her “boy toy” Casper Smart, according to In Touch.

The mag says the “American Idol” judge “petitioned the show’s producers to find a job for her young lover,” and quotes a so-called “insider” as saying, “Casper has some title, but no one knows what he’s supposed to be doing.”

Nor is her alleged favor for the 24-year-old backup dancer rooted in goodwill, states the tabloid.

In Touch claims that since splitting from the “ultra-controlling” Marc Anthony, Lopez is “eager to get back in the driver’s seat herself,” which means ”keeping Casper at arm’s reach while she works.”

OK…

So what about when she begins working on her next movie? Will she get Smart a role in What to Expect When You’re Expecting: Part 2?

Why doesn’t she just make him her personal assistant if she really feels the need to keep him “at arm’s reach”?

The whole premise is just absurd.

Anyway, a rep for Lopez tells Gossip Cop the claim that she got him a job on “Idol” is simply “inaccurate.”

The 11th season of “American Idol” officially kicked off Wednesday night with auditions in Savannah, Georgia.

And it wouldn’t be an “Idol” premiere without at least a few of the 10,000 hopefuls bringing the crazy.

But some brought the talent, too – like Phillip Phillips, who put on a new twist on the Michael Jackson classic “Thriller.”

The pawn shop worker initially auditioned with “Superstition” by Stevie Wonder, but then broke out an acoustic guitar for “Thriller.”

“You’re very, very special,” said an impressed Jennifer Lopez.

Forty-two contestants made it to Hollywood and, no surprise, Philips was one of them.
