Is Justin Bieber going to host “Saturday Night Live”?

While absolutely nothing has been confirmed, the news was possibly leaked by 16-time host Alec Baldwin during an interview he conducted with “SNL” boss Lorne Michaels for his Here’s The Thing podcast.

Reading off Michaels’ bulletin board of the season’s hosts, Baldwin says, “The biggest names in the business are coming here [to host]. You have Ben Stiller and Melissa McCarthy, [who] won the Emmy Award… and Katy Perry‘s coming and Jimmy Fallon… Jonah Hill, and I don’t want to ruin any other names, [but] Bieber’s confirmed, and he’s the music and the [host].”

A source close to the show tells Gossip Cop, “There’s no word on Justin Bieber yet.”

Bieber has never hosted, although he did serve as the musical guest for Tina Fey’s 2010 hosting turn.

The next two “SNL” broadcasts will be hosted by Zooey Deschanel (February 4) and Channing Tatum (February 11).

One month after leaving Twitter amid controversy, Alec Baldwin has returned.

“Back on Twitter. Happy New Year,” wrote the “30 Rock” star on Saturday.

Referring to his girlfriend, Baldwin then tweeted, “Last day in Paraiso with @hilariathomas.”

The messages are Baldwin’s first on Twitter since December 6, when he announced, “Let’s crash this acct. #massunfollowing,” hours after being booted from an American Airlines flight.

Baldwin was kicked off the airplane for refusing to stop playing Words With Friends on his smart phone and engaging in what staffers called “extremely rude” behavior.

Now, apparently, he’s back from his self-imposed social media hiatus.

Tina Fey takes the blame for Alec Baldwin’s incident on an American Airlines flight last month.

While appearing on Thursday’s “Late Show,” the “30 Rock” creator and star told David Letterman that she introduced Baldwin to the game “Words With Friends.”

Fey said, “Alec, bless his heart, he had some trouble on the plane a couple of weeks ago,” jokingly adding, “My first reaction, the thing I was upset about was last spring… I said to him, ‘Hey, there’s this really fun game called… Words With Friends.’”

She also confirmed that Baldwin would return to “30 Rock” next season “if there is a seventh season and NBC is still a thing.”

New York-based grocery chain Wegmans is apologizing to Alec Baldwin for yanking a series of ads featuring the actor.

On Wednesday morning, the store revealed it was pulling the commercials after numerous customers complained about the plane incident in which Baldwin was removed from a flight after refusing to turn off his phone.

The commercials were due to run for three weeks beginning in December, but were cut one week short following the complaints.

But now, Wegmans has decided to put the ads back on the air, telling Gossip Cop in a statement, “We regret ending the Alec Baldwin holiday commercials one week earlier than planned in response to a couple of dozen complaints. We have decided to run the commercials again, effective immediately.”

The store’s rep adds, “Clearly, many more people support Alec, as evidenced by the hundreds and hundreds of tweets, emails, and phone calls we have received. We enjoyed working with Alec Baldwin and his mom, Carol, and would do it again. We appreciate all the kind things they have said about Wegmans and respect the good work they do for communities.”

Despite an interest in politics, Alec Baldwin says he has lost his “appetite” to run for office.

“I doubt it now. The older I get, the more I feel that all of it has changed,” the actor said Wednesday on his WNYC radio show, “Here’s The Thing.”

Baldwin has previously said he’d consider running for Mayor of New York, but now finds himself turned off by the political players currently in the mix.

“I don’t see myself in that crowd,” he said, accusing current possible candidates as being “horny for their own ascension.”

Instead, the “30 Rock” star would rather focus on the life he currently leads.

“I’ve got a job now,” he said, referring to his hit NBC show. “We have fun, and it’s a family and I love New York and I’ve got a life. It’s been a great harbor for me in my life.”

“Give this up for what?” Baldwin wondered. “I give up money and fame and position and success; I give up this wonderful life I have now in exchange for the chance to really change things.”

“Yeah, I’m not quite sure you can anymore,” he added.

The war between Alec Baldwin and the airline industry has taken another twist.

The Association of Professional Flight Attendants (APFA) has requested that American Airlines remove the actor’s sitcom “30 Rock” from its in-flight entertainment offerings following last week’s incident between Baldwin and a Los Angeles-to-New York flight crew.

The trouble all started when Baldwin was kicked off the plane after refusing to comply with instructions to shut down his smart phone.

He also engaged in what the airline called “extremely rude” behavior.

In a new statement, the APFA says, “We fully support the Flight Attendants and the way they handled the situation. The crew responded as they have been thoroughly trained to do so by the FAA as safety professionals onboard the aircraft.”

The organization “would be agreeable to implementing ["30 Rock"] again if, and only if, Mr. Baldwin publicly apologizes to American Airlines Flight Attendants.”

That seems unlikely.

Last week, Baldwin offered a written apology – to his fellow passengers, not the airline or the attendants – and then mocked the situation by appearing as an American Airlines “pilot” on “Saturday Night Live.”

Alec Baldwin poked fun at his being kicked off a plane with an appearance as American Airlines Cpt. Steve Rogers on Saturday Night Live’s ”Weekend Update.”

As the pilot, Baldwin tells “Weekend Update” anchor Seth Meyers that the whole incident was “awful,” and that “on behalf of everyone at American Airlines,” he was on “Saturday Night Live” to “issue an apology to Mr. Alec Baldwin.”

“Rogers” further noted that Baldwin is “an American treasure, and I am ashamed at the way he was treated!”

Alec Baldwin has offered a written apology to his “fellow travelers” for an incident on Tuesday onboard an American Airlines flight, but he still maintains he wasn’t in the wrong.

Nor does Baldwin, who was removed from the plane, say he’s sorry to American Airlines, which earlier in the day blasted him for being “rude.”

According to a letter Baldwin published on Wednesday’s Huffington Post, “While other people were still manipulating their own phones, this one employee singled me out to put my phone away.”

Baldwin says he initially obliged, but took out his phone again, as other passengers did, while the plane remained delayed at the gate.

“Again, I was singled out by this woman in the most unpleasant of tones,” he claims.

“I guess the fact that this woman, who had decided to make some example of me, while everyone else was left undisturbed, did get the better of me.”

The actor, noting he’s never had a problem on past flights or with any other American Airlines attendant, admits he learned “a valuable lesson.”

“The lesson I’ve learned is to keep my phone off when the 1950′s gym teacher is on duty,” he writes.

Still unapologetic to the airline, Baldwin says, “Most of the flight attendants I have ever encountered still have some remnant of the old idea of service… But there are many now who walk the aisles of an airplane with a whistle around their neck and a clipboard in their hands and they have made flying a Greyhound bus experience.”

American Airlines is blasting Alec Baldwin for his behavior aboard a plane at LAX airport on Tuesday.

As Gossip Cop reported, Baldwin was removed from the Los Angeles-to-New York flight when he refused to stop playing Words With Friends on his smart phone after passengers were asked to turn off their electronic devices.

The airline has just released a statement on the matter, saying Baldwin “was extremely rude to the crew” and used “offensive language” and “inappropriate names.”

“Since an extremely vocal customer has publicly identified himself as being removed from an American Airlines flight on Tuesday, Dec. 6, we have elected to provide the actual facts of the matter as well as the FAA regulations which American, and all airlines, must enforce,” says American Airlines.

“Cell phones and electronic devices are allowed to be used while the aircraft is at the gate and the door is open for boarding,” continues the statement. “When the door is closed for departure and the seat belt light is turned on, all cell phones and electronic devices must be turned off for taxi-out and take-off.”

It continues, “This passenger declined to turn off his cell phone when asked to do so at the appropriate time. The passenger ultimately stood up (with the seat belt light still on for departure) and took his phone into the plane’s lavatory. He slammed the lavatory door so hard, the cockpit crew heard it and became alarmed, even with the cockpit door closed and locked.”

“They immediately contacted the cabin crew to check on the situation. The passenger was extremely rude to the crew, calling them inappropriate names and using offensive language. Given the facts above, the passenger was removed from the flight and denied boarding,” concludes the statement.

After tweeting a number of anti-American Airlines messages in the hours following the incident, Baldwin told his followers that he’d be shutting down his Twitter account.

Alec Baldwin was removed from an American Airlines flight in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

After fellow passengers tweeted that the “30 Rock” star was kicked off the plane following a dispute with a flight attendant, Baldwin himself confirmed the incident.

“Flight attendant on American reamed me out 4 playing WORDS W FRIENDS while we sat at the gate, not moving,” wrote Baldwin.

Words with Friends is a Scrabble-like game played on smart phones.

Airlines have rules that when they ask passengers to turn off their phones, everyone has to.

A rep for Baldwin had this comment for Gossip Cop: “Alec was asked to leave a flight for playing ‘Words with Friends’ while parked at the gate. He loves WWF so much that he was willing to leave a plane for it, but he has already boarded another AA flight.”

Hey, at least his pants weren’t sagging.

Avid Twitter-user Alec Baldwin is now finding another outlet to voice his thoughts and opinions.

The actor is teaming with New York public radio, WNYC, to create a show in which he’ll interview fellow entertainers as well as other public figures.

Baldwin tells the Associated Press that his “30 Rock” contract ends after the upcoming sixth season, and while he’s open to doing another year, he really wants “to move on to other things.”

The radio show, which will be available on podcast beginning October 24, will kick off with an interview with Michael Douglas, followed by sit-downs with Kris Jenner, Chris Rock, Kathleen Turner and Republican campaign strategist Ed Rollins.

Baldwin has also expressed interest in running for public office post-”30 Rock,” but acknowledges the segue from entertainment to politics will take time.

“I have to finish what I’m doing now and separate these two parts of my life… everything has to be on the record,” he says.

Contestants (Alec Baldwin, Vanessa Bayer, and Jason Sudeikis) were asked if a series of straight male stars were hypothetically gay, who — when having sex — would be the “top,” and who would be the um, “bottom.”

Alec Baldwin began Season 37 of “Saturday Night Live” by noting in his monologue that he has now set an “SNL” record by hosting the show 16 times, beating his It’s Complicated costar Steve Martin‘s record of 15 times.

Enter Martin, who wanted to make sure Baldwin wasn’t beating him using steroids or any performance-enhancing drugs.

And in order to test Baldwin, Martin said he brought an expert on drug use.

Enter Seth Rogen.

Martin makes Baldwin go behind a medical screen and give a urine test.

Alec Baldwin took to Twitter to voice his disgust over the execution of Troy Davis, who was put to death last night for allegedly murdering police officer Mark MacPhail in 1989, despite some doubts about his guilt.

The actor, who has expressed an interest in a future run for mayor of New York, unleashed a barrage of tweets attacking the Georgia state justice system and used the execution to blast the Bush administration for the Iraqi War.

Baldwin personally slammed Georgia’s governor, writing, “Nathan Deal has disgraced Georgia, the justice system, the country.”

The “30 Rock” star then directed his wrath at former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and former Vice President Dick Cheney, tweeting, ”When do Cheney and Rumsfeld go on trial for murder? Will that trial be in Texas? Georgia?”

But what really set Baldwin off was when conservative news blogger Michelle Malkin tweeted, “Waiting for Hollyweirdo @alecbaldwin’s ‘I am Troy Davis’ tweet…,” referring to Davis’ statement of innocence, which many supporters have quoted to voice their objection to his execution.

Baldwin fired back at Malkin that she was “Like Palin, but even more of a hater,” and then encouraged his Twitter followers to go after her as well.

“C’mon!! Let’s go all Town Hall on that supreme thinker @michellemalkin. A world class, crypto fascist hater!” wrote Baldwin.

Malkin responded via Twitter, “Direct your minions’ ire/rage/profanity/racism/sexism at the US Supreme Court, not me.”

Alec Baldwin and a barista at his local Starbucks have a conflict brewing.

The “30 Rock” star tweeted his displeasure with the employee earlier this week, writing, “Starbucks on 93 and B’way. Uptight Queen barrista (sic) named JAY has an attitude problem.”

Baldwin didn’t elaborate at the time about what transpired, but now a Starbucks co-worker claims Baldwin was the one who was overly steamed at the coffee counter.

“I was here when it happened – it was really just him being an [expletive],” alleges the second barista, Giovan, telling the New York Post, “[Baldwin] was very rude and disrespectful and arrogant. He’s probably the rudest guy I’ve ever met.”

“Jay” (not, apparently, his actual name) “didn’t do anything wrong,” claims Giovan. “It was all that dude just being psycho.”

Baldwin begs to differ with the story portraying him as a combative caffeine-head, tweeting this afternoon, “What makes [the Post reporter] such a sleazy, from-under-a-rock tab gnat? What drives these tab ‘writers’? do u care?”

As for the coffee giant, Baldwin’s rep said, “Starbucks is a great company. Unfortunately, not all of their employees can live up to their high standards.”

Alec Baldwin and his girlfriend, yoga instructor Hilaria Thomas, are reportedly moving in together.

The “30 Rock” star (and potential future mayoral candidate) is said to have sold his $9.5 million apartment on Central Park West in order to move with Thomas into a SoHo residence downtown.

The neighborhood is closer to Thomas’ studio.

Multiple reports suggest the couple is getting very serious.

“He sees marriage in the near future,” a source tells the New York Post.

Baldwin has been married once before, to Kim Basinger, with whom he has a daughter named Ireland.

Jimmy Fallon is returning to “Saturday Night Live” — this time as a host.

The “SNL” vet will host the sketch comedy show on December 17.

Fallon joked in a statement, “I’ve never forgotten where I came from. That’s why I’m so incredibly honored to be hosting the Saturday Night Times program December 17th on HGTV.”

Michael Buble will appear as the musical guest.

The show’s upcoming season premieres on September 24, with Alec Balwin hosting and Radiohead as musical guest.

Alec Baldwin is gearing up for a mayoral run in New York, but he’s not ready quite yet.

The actor said he’ll sit out the election in 2013, because he’s still committed to “30 Rock” through the season, which ends next April, and because he would like to enroll in a master’s program in the fall of 2012 in an effort to better educate himself about the office of mayor.

Baldwin told the New York Times that he’s talking to two top universities about entering a master’s program in politics and government “to help me better understand what the fiscal imperatives of that job are… What’s the reality of the city unions, of contracts, agreements, teachers, infrastructure, decentralizing, everything? And utilities, Con Ed, the M.T.A. — how does it all work?”

He added that he doesn’t think his past mistakes would hinder him from being a viable candidate.

“What I do for a living has provided people with an almost bottomless container of video clips of me doing the most asinine things,” he said. Still, he feels he could weather the criticism, “including the tape of me with my daughter.”

Baldwin also takes a swipe at New York’s current mayor, Mike Bloomberg, who re-wrote the city’s term-limits law in 2008, so that he could run for a third term.

“All the Bloomberg supporters look at me and say, ‘What do you got against Bloomberg?’” said Baldwin. “Well, I don’t have anything against Bloomberg, but there are term limits. The whole point is, whether you liked him or didn’t like him, he’s got to go.”

Woody Allen will star in his next film, Bop Decameron, and today announced the rest of the cast for what will be his first movie shot in Rome.

Alec Baldwin might run for mayor of New York City.

In the wake of potential 2013 mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner‘s fall from grace, the “30 Rock” actor and longtime Democrat is reportedly contemplating a bid to succeed Michael Bloomberg as the Big Apple’s big cheese.

A Baldwin friend says the politically engaged star believes Weinergate has disrupted the field enough for him to mull throwing his hat in the ring.

“Alec said, ‘Hey, maybe this changes the race. The dynamics have shifted,’” the source tells The Daily. “The Democrats need a high-profile candidate, and Alec can fill that bill.”

Wow.

So could Baldwin really run for mayor?

“I wouldn’t rule it out,” his rep tells THR.

Catherine Zeta-Jones is in final negotiations to join Rock of Ages, the film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical about 1980s rockers.

Director Adam Shankman says Zeta-Jones will play the villain of the movie, a role that was not in the original stage production.

Also onboard for the film are Tom Cruise, who will play heavy metal singer Stacee Jaxx, Alec Baldwin, as former rocker and nightclub owner Dennis Dupree, along with Russell Brand and Julianne Hough.

A rep for Zeta-Jones, who recently checked into a mental health facility for treatment of bipolar disorder and opened up about her struggle to People, told Gossip Cop “She’s feeling great and looking forward to starting work” again.

Condoleezza Rice will appear on “30 Rock,” Tina Fey has revealed.

The former secretary of state will do a guest spot as an ex-girlfriend of Alec Baldwin‘s Jack Donaghy, the conservative network executive.

Rice’s appearance will happen before the show’s season finale, Fey said last night at a Thursday night event in Washington, D.C. to promote her new memoir “Bossypants.”

Alec Baldwin says “30 Rock” will end after next season.

Baldwin dropped the bomb to New York Magazine last night at the National Dance Institute’s annual fundraising gala, saying, “Next year is our last year of the show.”

The actor has previously revealed that he was leaning towards leaving the hit series when his contract is up in 2012, but this is the first word that “30 Rock” itself will end.

Baldwin added, “Our contracts are expired [in 2012], and Tina [Fey] is gonna have a big career directing films and writing. She’s going to be the next Elaine May. She’ll be great.”

One insider tells Gossip Cop that Baldwin’s latest claim is “nonsense.”

A second source adds there have been “no conversations about ’30 Rock’ ending next season.”

Of course, the actor has made a few announcements over the years – like that he’d move to Europe if George Bush was reelected – that haven’t exactly panned out.

Alec Baldwin is offering Charlie Sheen some harsh advice, based on his own experiences.

In a piece for the Huffington Post, Baldwin, who was bounced from The Hunt for Red October sequels for another star, tells Sheen pointblank, “You can’t win. Really. You can’t… No actor is greater than the show itself when the show is a hit.”

He explains that TV execs will win this fight because Sheen’s “a drug-addled, porn star-squiring, near-Joycean Internet ranter, and they really want you to go.”

Baldwin feels Sheen might be able to get his job back, but in order to do so, the “30 Rock” star suggests, “Take a nap. Get a shower. Call Chuck [Lorre]. Go on Letterman and make an apology. Write a huge check to the B’Nai Brith. And then beg for your job back.”

“Sober up, Charlie. And get back on TV, if it’s not too late,” says Baldwin.

Adds the actor, “P.S…. buy [Jon] Cryer a really nice car.”

Alec Baldwin has gone from “30 Rock ” to Rock of Ages.

Adam Shankman, who’s directing the big-screen version of Rock of Ages, has confirmed Baldwin will star in the musical about 1980s rockers.

Baldwin is set to play Dennis Dupree, a former rocker who runs the Rock of Ages nightclub.

Also onboard, as reported by Gossip Cop, are Tom Cruise, who will play heavy metal singer Stacee Jaxx, and Julianne Hough.

Tom Cruise is set to rock!

Adam Shankman, who’s directing the big-screen version of Rock of Ages, just told Ryan Seacrest on the Oscars’ red carpet that Cruise is confirmed to star in the musical about 1980s rockers.

“He’s studying his vocals,” Shankman said, and added that Cruise can really sing.

Cruise will play heavy metal singer Stacee Jaxx in the film.

As Jaxx, Cruise will sing Bon Jovi’s “Wanted Dead or Alive,” among other hits from the era.

Alec Baldwin and Russell Brand have also been discussed for roles.
