Nicolas Cage got released from jail earlier today, thanks to Duane “Dog” Chapman and his wife Beth of “Dog: The Bounty Hunter” fame.

The stars of the A&E reality show posted Cage’s $11,000 bond after the actor was arrested this morning in New Orleans for domestic abuse.

When the Chapmans are not chasing down people who jump bond, they actually run their own bail bond company from their home base of Hawaii.

Beth Chapman tweeted afterwards, “My guy just walked out of the jail damn new Orleans 8 hours holy cow that’s a lot of time toProcess one guy.”

And she also noted, “we write nation wide Bail Bond” and can get “anyone out in any state from right here in Hawaii.”

As Gossip Cop reported earlier, Cage was picked up this morning at around 6:30 a.m. after drunkenly arguing with his wife.

A&E Networks has canceled The Kennedys, a miniseries about the famed political family starring Katie Holmes as Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Greg Kinnear as President John F. Kennedy.

Already finished, the TV eight-parter was scheduled to air on the History Channel before A&E surprisingly pulled the plug, reportedly under political pressure.

The Kennedys may now wind up on an alternate channel such as Showtime.

“We are proud of the work all of our talent put into the making of The Kennedys and the painstaking efforts that went into creating a drama that is compelling while rich in historic detail,” producers said in a statement.

“Although we regret this does not fit into the History Channel’s plans, we are confident that television viewers in the United States will join viewers from around the world in having an opportunity to watch this series in the near future.”

The project also stars Barry Pepper as Robert Kennedy and Tom Wilkinson as family patriarch Joseph Kennedy.

A trailer for the series has been produced.

This week brings another reminder of why no one ever confuses the National Enquirer with TV Guide.

According to the Enquirer, newly single Eva Longoria has told friends that A&E is “set to green-light a show based on her endlessly dramatic real life.”

The alleged reality series would “document her push to reassemble her life after a broken marriage” and could even feature pals like Mario Lopez and Jamie Foxx.

It would be pretty big news if “Desperate Housewives” star Longoria let cameras capture her real, day-to-day life.

Of course, it’s NOT TRUE.

“This is total b.s.” a rep for Longoria tells Gossip Cop.

Duane “Dog” Chapman, star of A&E’s “Dog the Bounty Hunter,” was taken last night to the UCLA Medical Center.

According to a posting on his website by his wife Beth Chapman, “Dog” was “admitted for tests for a possible blood clot following an injury he suffered on a bounty hunt. Duane is in very capable hands and and we thank everyone for their prayers.”

She later tweeted an update: “Yes dog is injured it is an occupational hazard that we deal with he is very strong and in excellent condition he will 4 sure survive :)”

Chapman has since been released from the hospital.

On the heels of his exit from “America’s Got Talent,” David Hasselhoff is launching a reality show on A&E with his two teenage daughters, Taylor-Ann and Hayley. But the question is… do they have talent?

The 10 half-hour episodes will focus on the Hoff as a single dad, as well as on his daughters’ attempt to break into showbiz.

The Hoff said, “It’s the dream of every parent to be able to help their child succeed… I told the girls that I would help them open the door when they are ready, but they would have to walk through it on their own.”

The new US Weekly‘s “Hot Stuff” column looks like it’s serving cold dish.

A supposed “source” told the mag a new A&E reality series featuring the Jackson family “will include Michael’s kids – Prince, 12, Paris, 11, and Blanket, 7.” The late King of Pop’s eldest sister Rebbie expressed disgust, saying “Michael would spin in his grave if he knew his kids would be on this show.”

Well, Michael won’t be spinning. Because it’s nothing more than a rumor.

After A&E issued a statement acknowledging that “it is entirely possible that [Michael's] brothers’ will intersect with other members of the Jackson family,” US Weekly stood by its report.

But a source involved in the production confirms to Gossip Cop that while the brothers may “intersect” with Michael’s children, there are no plans to include them in the series. It should also be noted that to be put on the air, participants need to sign a release. The children’s grandmother, Katherine Jackson, acts as their children’s legal guardian, and a source in the Jackson camp tells Gossip Cop there’s no chance she’d sign off on their participation.
