Lady Gaga will join Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd as a co-host on “The View” on August 1, the show’s executive producer Bill Geddie announced today. She’ll also perform her song, “You and I.” Will you be watching?

Mel Gibson: I’ve Never Been “Discriminatory”

Mel Gibson broke his silence and spoke for the first time about a variety of subjects, including those infamous taped telephone rants directed at his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.

“It’s one terribly awful moment in time, said to one person in the span of one day, and doesn’t represent what I truly believe or how I’ve treated people my entire life,” Gibson tells Deadline in a candid interview.

He claims that despite the tenor of the tapes, “I’ve never treated anyone badly or in a discriminatory way based on their gender, race, religion or sexuality – period. I don’t blame some people for thinking that, though, from the garbage they heard on those leaked tapes, which have been edited.”
