The movie, Foxcatcher, is being developed by Capote director Bennett Miller.
While comedian Carell has done drama before, the role would be his biggest departure from type yet.

Steve Carell is attached to star in ‘Dogs of Babel,’ a drama about a man who loses his wife and looks for answers.
The movie will be adapted from the book of the same name by Carolyn Parkhurst.
In the story, a linguistics professor returns home one day to find his wife dead in their backyard, with the couple’s dog as the only witness. The grieving husband attempts to teach the dog to talk to uncover what really happened.
