Russell Brand gave a thoughtful explanation on why he thinks his marriage to Katy Perry failed in a recent interview on Australia’s “60 Minutes.”

The comedian, who split from Perry last December after just 14 months of marriage, said, “If you sort of sense there’s an incompatibility, then in any relationship, regardless of the status of the individual, it kind of is best to go separate ways.”

“A heartbroken Katy Perry has been drunk-dialing her ex-husband Russell Brand since her bitter breakup with rocker John Mayer,” claims the National Enquirer.

The tabloid quotes a “close friend” as saying, “Katy has been hitting the booze and then calling Russell in a state of distress.”

“Russell still cares deeply for her, and he’s furious that she was treated so badly, so he’s trying to comfort her,” explains the Enquirer source.

Russell Brand is the latest celebrity to be the subject of a false and disgusting death rumor.

Like other gross pranks from the sick site Global Associated News, Brand was reported to have “died” over the weekend snowboarding in Zermatt, Switzerland, where he supposedly “lost control of his snowboard and struck a tree at a high rate of speed.”

Brand is NOT dead.

He’s alive and well.

And joking about it.

Russell Brand has reportedly made a deal to avoid jail after destroying a paparazzo’s cell phone during a confrontation in New Orleans last March.

The actor and comedian entered a “not guilty” plea via his attorney on Thursday after having worked out an agreement by which Brand pays $500 in court fees and performs 20 hours of community service by the end of August, according to TMZ.

If convicted, Brand could have faced up to six months behind bars.
