An incredibly ugly battle is brewing between Mel Gibson and screenwriter Joe Eszterhas over Gibson’s controversial Judah Maccabee project, shortly after word broke that Warner Bros. had stalled the production.

In a blistering letter to his would-be collaborator, Eszterhas accuses Gibson of being anti-Semitic and dangerous.

“I’ve come to the conclusion that the reason you won’t make The Maccabees is the ugliest possible one,” writes Eszterhas. “You hate Jews.”

Mel Gibson officially divorced Robyn, his wife of 31 years, on Friday.

A judge just signed off on the paperwork in a Los Angeles court.

Gibson, who is worth somewhere between $650-$800 million, did not have a prenuptial agreement.

Robyn filed for divorce in 2009 after it was revealed that Gibson was expecting a child with Oksana Grigorieva.
