“SJP Escapes Her Kids,” reads the headline of an In Touch item that claims Sarah Jessica Parker “just got her own apartment in New York City, blocks away from the townhouse she shares with hubby Matthew Broderick and their kids.”

According to a so-called “insider,” the actress “got herself an apartment that’s just for her. She met with the co-op board and said she needed a place to work in peace.”

So is the Sex and the City star really fleeing her family?

“Sarah Jessica Parker got called for jury duty yesterday, but didn’t appear eager to serve,” reports the New York Post.

The paper says Parker was overheard “griping to another prospective panelist about the better things she had to do than cool her heels in Manhattan federal court,” and reportedly had a few excuses why she couldn’t serve. However, Parker NEVER tried to get out of jury duty, and even tells Gossip Cop that she’s “one of the few who enjoys jury duty.”

Yesterday, the New York Post ran a nearly full-page piece titled, “‘City’ gals from game to tame,” which observed how mellow the lives of the four “Sex and the City” leads have become in the 11 years since the show premiered. But the Post flubbed when it wrote, “At least Kim Cattrall, 53, who plays Samantha Jones, is still young at heart. She’s dating a chef 22 years younger.”
