In an out-of-the-blue slam job on “Scrubs” star Zach Braff, the tabloid began an item by asking, “Does Zach Braff have a casting couch?”
The article went on to say, “For his next movie, Swingles, Jennifer Aniston turned down a role when Zach asked for late-night meetings over wine and candlelight. Now Cameron Diaz, who is also interested in the project, is getting leery of Zach.”
Star then trots out one of its unnamed and unreliable sources as saying, “He hits on his costars… He’s getting a bad reputation.”
Here’s what’s interesting about the Star‘s story: Nothing.
And very little else is accurate, too.
For starters, “Swingles,” about a guy who’s best buddy gets married and then turns to an acerbic female to be his new wing (wo)man, is not even happening. At least anytime soon.
Next, the whole thing about Jennifer Aniston being invited for candlelight meetings and wine… never happened.
And finally, Cameron Diaz, who the Star reports is “interested in the project,” was actually attached to the movie before Braff was.
Braff, who was slated to star and direct “Swingles” – when the film was a possibility nearly a year ago – is currently in Montreal working on another film.
The only one with a “bad reputation” is the Star.
