T.I. Concert Marred By Gunfire At New York’s Irving Plaza, One Dead And Three Injured
A T.I. concert ended before the rapper could even take the stage on Wednesday night, as shots rang out at New York famed Irving Plaza. Police say one person was killed and three others were injured during the gunfire.
At around 10 p.m., while the opening act of Maino and Uncle Murda were performing, shots were fired in the venue, which was filled to capacity with approximately 1,000 waiting for T.I. to perform. From what Gossip Cop has learned, among those hit was a local rapper named Troy Ave. His injury to the leg is not life-threatening. Also struck was a man named Christopher Vinson, who was hit with a bullet in the chest, and a woman named Maggie Heckster, who received a wound to her leg. Ronald McPhatter, who was shot in the stomach, died at Bellevue hospital. Gossip Cop has no information yet as to what prompted the gunfire.
As of now, the police do not have any suspects in custody. Earlier on Wednesday, T.I. had taped a segment airing on Wednesday’s “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” The hip hop artist has yet to comment on social media about the shootings at his concert. Gossip Cop will update this story.
