Sylvester Stallone: I Support Gun Control, Assault Weapons Ban

Truth rating: 10

(GettyImages.com)

Sylvester Stallone is in favor of new gun control legislation, including the reinstatement of a ban on assault weapons.

Known for violent, action-packed films, the Rambo star weighed in this week on the continuing national debate on guns.

“I know people get [upset] and go,  ’They’re going to take away the assault weapon.’ [Who] needs an assault weapon?” Stallone is quoted as telling the Associated Press. “Like really, unless you’re carrying out an assault.

He adds, “You can’t hunt with it… Who’s going to attack your house, a [expletive] army?”

Stallone believes there should be more national focus on mental health care to help prevent mass shootings like the ones that have plagued America in recent years.

He says, ”It’s unbelievably horrible, what’s happened. I think the biggest problem, seriously, is not so much guns. It’s that every one of these people that have done these things in the past 30 years are friggin’ crazy.”

“That’s where we’ve dropped the ball: mental health,” says Stallone. “That to me is our biggest problem in the future, is insanity coupled with isolation.”

What do you think about Stallone’s comments?

I support the removal of all of your money for the new movie “Bullet to the Head” you just made. Since it promotes gun violence and all.

  • http://twitter.com/Kevlar_Vest Kevlar

What a hypocritical douche. This moron has made millions selling films that revel in gun violence and then he has the gall to call for banning semiautomatic rifles that are cosmetically scary. Hey Sly, when you say “assault weapon/rifle,” it’s a misnomer. My AR-15s don’t have selective fire, you dunce. If it did, then you could refer to it as as “assault rifle.” Fully automatic rifles are extremely hard to come by – there’s tons of legal hoops and the stamp tax that needs to be paid in order to get a pre-1986 automatic. And that’s if you even live in a state that would allow a pre-1986 rifle. Just another clueless Hollyweird leftard that knows little of what he speaks, but wants to exploit a tragedy in order to further a political agenda.

  • Al_x

Pure PR to keep the heat off him with his an ultra violent movie in the wake of real violence. You have to stick to making movies Sly, leave the firearms to people who actually know abot them.

  • Martina

Omg……Sly, I respected you, don’t do this to me.
You are standing for people who use this propaganda to take away people’s rights. Not for those who have been affected by gun crime.
If attacker has a gun, have you going to defend yourself?!
Do you really believe that nation living in fashion of aggression, action, war and attacks is going to sudenly change into the peacefull nation that see gun as something alien and foreign?
No….therefor….criminals will always carry guns, so we should protect ourselves.
I say this….if government take your right to carry guns, them get rid of all bigger dog breed, then knives will not be in fashion…..so you will become in someone else’s power.
    Why so sudenly….?!
    Well……

  • http://www.facebook.com/al.lorentz Al Lorentz

What a hypocritical douche. What I find amazing is his ignorance on “assault” weapons but then he is only an actor, not an authority. I won’t be seeing any more of his movies either.

  • Nonconformist

Most of us can’t afford the armed bodyguards you have Sly. The courts fail to prosecute criminals. The current system does not work. There are over 20,000 firearms laws in existence that they fail to enforce. Police officers are given equipment to allow them to protect the public from criminals. This includes, semi auto pistols, AR15 rifles and shotguns. They don’t carry muskets, swords or revolvers anymore because they are not adequate to stop today’s criminal. If the second amendment allows me to protect my family and life why should I not be allowed to use the same weapons the police officers deem fit to stop the same criminal threat? I am not talking, rockets, grenades or tanks here people. The day that these under staffed and funded police can guarantee they will be standing next to me when a criminal decides to do my family harm is the day I don’t need firearms.

  • Toooten

As an non-american, I can’t even start to comprehend why ordinary people should have access to automatic/semi-automatic assault weapons! Why?
We have had our shootings, very few thank God, as well, but it’s not even a fraction of the continuous mass-slaughtering that you guys have, and the mere thought that even MORE guns is the answer, is to an European just mind-boggling insane and stupid!

It’s not trying to be an asshole and I’m not dissing you guys and how you choose to live you’re lives, but most country’s in Europe have very strict gun control laws, and thank God for that. :)

  • Mendoza

That’s a little hypocritical, considering he’s made so much money using them in movies.

  • Mendoza

Because it’s our right, granted by that very same God you’re thanking for banning guns (you should be thanking men for that), and rights don’t have to be justified or negotiated.

Most European countries are socialist and/or monarchies, where individuals have no rights.

If that’s the sort of society you want to live in, then so be it, but you’re always welcome here if you want real freedom.

  • Mendoza

I think he should donate all the income he received from that movie to the victims of the Sandy Hook massacre.

  • 55vineyard

No need for assault weapons, never had one or needed one.
But a handgun is a must for people like me who are female and live alone, just last night in my neighborhood, there were police helicopters flying all over the place and my neighbors came and knocked on my door and told me to lock it and use the deadbolt as there was a guy with a handgun in the area and a drug bust going down. Scary if you do not have a gun.

  • Jamie

Well ‘Your rights’ are killing your children. Bravo

  • Mendoza

My children are just fine, thank you.

  • Seekers

Sly is earning his “Meathead” nickname all over again!

[Who] needs an assault weapon?” Stallone is quoted as telling the Associated Press. “Like really, unless you’re carrying out an assault.

It’s legal to hunt with all rifles, in my state and in the two next to me as long as they use center fire ammo . I also enjoy target practice, and competition but I guess that isn’t allowed in Stallone’s world! For sure not his state, the republic of Kalifornia!

To state that they are only good for “assaulting” is pretty asinine and what I’ve come to accept from the fringe left of politics and Hollywood.

Stallone has lowered himself to the level of cesspool, hollywood leftist that are no longer worthy of any attention. I will never again pay to see anything he is associated with and encourage all I know to do like wise.

  • Toooten

Arh c’mon, individuals have no rights!? Monarchies!? You really have to learn a lot about the European country’s, their democracies and their various systems of government, because you obviously don’t know much my friend. And the monarchies? Yes several country’s have a monarchy, but they have absolutely nothing to say in politics, they have no power whatsoever, they are just a long gone part of our history, a reminiscence of times gone by, and someone we like to look at in parades, while we wave our flags, nothing more. ;)

  • Kateekidding

Wow…. is all I can say to you. just… wow. If freedom means foodstamps and having your children killed while trying to learn something in school. you can keep it.

  • Kateekidding

I never thought this day would come, but I absolutely agree with Stalone.

  • Kateekidding

I can see why you wouldn’t care then…

  • Kateekidding

I think you should donate all the income you received from your job to do so.. that would make just as much sense, or even more so; since you support the system that made the gunman able to go through with the shooting.

  • jean1982

Wow, you’re one arrogant prick.. You know NOTHING about Europe my friend. I’m very happy living in Europe thank you very much, where I can watch a movie without fearing i’ll get shot.. where I can send my kids to school knowing they’re safe and they won’t be gunned down.. Where I can shop to my heart’s content in the biggest shopping malls or even take a stroll down the street knowing i won’t be gunned down. Heck i can even jump in my neighbour’s backyard to get my cat knowing i won’t be shot (on the contrary i’ll get a cup of coffee) So yeah keep your frigging guns. I’ll be waiting for your next John Wayne to be on the news after he guns down another whole classrooms of toddlers

  • Mendoza

My kids are homeschooled, and I’ll keep my freedom, thank you.

  • Mendoza

Why should I donate any money? I neither killed anybody, nor do I care about those victims.

  • Mendoza

Wow, that’s the most interesting and long winded way anybody has ever confessed her undying love for me.

  • Mendoza

You finally coming around to my way of thinking?

  • Mendoza

And yet you never addressed the point about socialism.

Europeans don’t understand the concept of leaving people the hell alone.

We Americans, as individual sovereigns, cannot delegate any power to our government that we ourselves do not possess. I don’t have the right to take someone else’s guns (or any other property for that matter) away from him. Therefore, I cannot delegate that authority to the state.

Now let’s here your convoluted bullshit answer as to why it’s ok to harass and bully people with the state.

  • Supporter

I agree with Stallone why the hell does anyone want a weapon for are terrorist coming in ur house? I don think so
So why on earth does anyone want a firearm its just plain simple
And ya most of those mass killers have mental Heath disorders and need support and most of these cases are associated with neglect and isolation
Wow it’s like Stallone took the words right out if my mouth lol
I’m supporting him with that claim
I mean soo many people are now too frieghtened to go to America now we have it change things and fast before the population is terrorised

  • Gun control!

Yeah go Britain!! (Or wherever ur at)
I live in Europe and never EVER heard news that a massacre has been done
Even I’m frightened to come to America
I love acting and want to start a career there but now I’m doubting that so unless America straightens its ways ll just over think that for some time and be a detective or a lawyer instead
    BAN guns forever

  • Humanity has to Work together!

It’s a movie get over it
    What’s a movie purpose?
TO entertain its not the actors choice it’s the plot of the film I love action movies and I ain’t going to go shooting people tomorrow
Actors have opinions and views too
    They are humans too
And stop yapping about stupid gun laws that haven’t helped ur case right now has it?
Guns or no guns right now people should be thinking about supporting the mentally ill And instead of making them feel neglected and put them in a corner u should put them out and make them feel populour and needed and whatever child that’s neglected throughout their lives u should get social workers come and check on the child instead of sitting there on ur sofa watching America fall
It’s sad what the community has become
What happened to the friendly, nice, selfless people working together
Humanity will fail if we don’t start working together despite differences and religion differences
There is this case where an extreme consecutive muslim woman that threw burning, highly concentrated acid onto a lingere models face sad sad sad

  • Obozo2

Well then, as a non-american, you should not expect us Constitution, freedom loving Americans to give a sh*t what you think then, right?

  • Obozo2

Are all liberals as stupid as you?

  • http://twitter.com/schotts Jeffrey L. Schottler

    They are not automatic weapons.

Why semi auto? Why not? The technology has been around for 130 years. We have the Second Amendment which keeps us free. We are not ruled in our Country and never will be. We aren’t a European Country, we aren’t Japan, we aren’t Australia. Those people in the US that keep comparing the US to those Countries are FREE to leave.

Freedom, however, is not free. Finally, our overall violent crime rate is actually much lower than many of the Countries often used to compare to the US with just homicide rates. One primary reason it’s lower is people are armed.

  • http://twitter.com/schotts Jeffrey L. Schottler

Our rights are not killing children, criminals and lunatics are. BTW,about twice as many children ages 0 – 4 are killed by hands and feet (beat and shaken) than murdered by the use of a gun.

  • Bruce Aubrey

Stallions comments are as bad as his acting I won’t be going to any more movies he’s in. If he doesn’t support people’s right to protect themselves against criminals then he’s an idot. Oh yea that’s right he’s rich and has security protecting him wherever he goes. Stop using the death of innocent children to further your political agenda. Shame on you!

  • TRUTH

Stallone has clearly been punched in the head too many times during his Rocky years. These days he couldn’t star in a movie that DIDN’T have assault weapons and yet he supports the ban? It’s not the gun ban that is getting people fired up, it’s our freedoms that are being taken away little by little. And in the same breath he states that the people carrying out these horrible massacres are crazy. Which is it, Stallone? The guns or the people with mental health issues? Do you blame the terrorists or the planes that took down the The World Trade Center? Do you blame the bomb in Oklahoma City or the madman who built it and blew up the building? People who don’t live in the United States can’t understand why a lot of us are upset about banning the guns but they don’t live in our country that was built on the freedoms stated on our constitution. Those are the people’s rights, not for the government to take them away. The bill of rights are the foundation of this country and they’re being deteriorated by a government who wants to control it’s citizens. If you’re okay with banning assault rifles, fine! But I can guarantee there will be more freedoms taken away from you that WILL affect you personally. Only THEN you’ll be singing a different tune.

  • James

Kind of strange for a guy who makes such violent movies to support gun control.. I know it`s only movies but he would hardly seem like the type to be concerned about banning weapons.. I wonder how much his influence his violent movies had on young minds that after seeing his flicks, now think it`s cool and macho to pack a piece..

  • GooglyMoogly

God didn’t grant the right to have guns. Are you serious?!

I get why people want handguns, I’m all for that and home protection. But you don’t need an AK47 to protect yourself or go hunting with. Just because we have the right to bear arms doesn’t mean we need a whole arsenal at our disposal.

  • abotwin

As a non-American myself, I’m all for gun ban. However, there is gun violence in Europe too. There was a school incident in France last year, and I vaguely remember something about a nightclub? Shits happens everywhere.

  • ab

this story would be less scary if he, and you, didn’t have handguns.

  • bijumon geevarghese

First of all mr mendoza as a indian who lives in europe i have to say you are an ignorant person you know nothing about europe yes many european contries still have monarchies but they have no power in the politics they just keep it as part of there history. We have the same freedom here like you in the usa the freedom of speech and so on and yes its written in your bill of rights to have a gun but just because you have the right does that mean you need a AK47 and other machine guns at home. Did you here about the us nazi with his mexican killing border patrol who was finally killed by his own son with his gun ! But yes a gun control law is not going to change anything if people wanna kill they get allways a machine gun its a social issue if people are desparet pissed of and angry we have to start doing somthing there and not bring in more and more laws

  • bijumon geevarghese

What are you talking about mr bruce aubry protecting your family from criminals wich criminals? is the taliban comming to your house you are living in the united states not in pakistan afganistan or mali you are the kind of american who is afraid of anything all forigners are terrorists all black americans dressed with hoodies are gang members sweden and switzerland is the same country a sikh with a turban is a moslem thats what you belive if some one walks right behind you do you shoot him down because he or she could be a possible treath for you?

  • Usamed

What crap. You weant the fredom to kill innocent people, by letting anyone buy a gun.

  • http://www.facebook.com/hypnowheel Sean Wheeler

It begins with the recognition that individuals have the right to defend themselves. While you can argue that disarming citizens will eliminate the need for a gun, how might a petite woman, for example, defend herself against even 2-3 larger men determined to assault her? Even if they’re using their bare hands, she has no chance.

Because the police cannot be expected to be on such a scene within seconds, a gun is the ultimate equalizer.

Even so-called “assault weapons” – which are actually semi-automatic guns – have a function. Imagine your home or business is being invaded my multiple armed criminals. How long will a 6-shooter pistol keep them at bay? You have much better odds with a weapon with a larger magazine and a longer muzzle.

The argument for banning guns gives criminals the power to eliminate law-obeying citizens’ rights to self-defense. The logic is that the more gun massacres they perpetrate, the more laws and restrictions are placed on those who have not done anything wrong, and likely never will.

    That’s neither effective nor just.

What the other poster said is also correct. Europeans live in societies in which the state has supreme power over the individual. That’s all fine and wonderful… until the state becomes tyrannical. At that point, without guns, the citizens have no recourse.

  • Usamed

You need to learn abit more about world history, not just the bits that you think will hold up your argument. We live in the hear and now and should have more vetting and rules when buying guns.

  • http://www.facebook.com/hypnowheel Sean Wheeler

All it takes is a bit of imagination to understand the purpose of an AR-15 (AK-47′s are fully automatic; AR-15′s are semi-automatic).

Imagine you’re a store owner in an area populated by criminals. 3-4 armed criminals come into your store carrying handguns.

Would you prefer to have a gun that holds two rounds, six rounds, or 15 rounds? Would you prefer to have a gun with a long barrel (more accurate) or a short barrel (less accurate)?

You can argue that this may not happen often, but that’s not the point. Many women are never raped, but that doesn’t void every woman’s right to carry a gun, mace, or stun gun just in case she’s the unlucky one.

  • http://www.facebook.com/hypnowheel Sean Wheeler

    “here and now”

  • Usamed

Thats not the point. Why can you buy military style guns (machine guns, semi automatic weapons). Who needs them.

  • http://www.facebook.com/hypnowheel Sean Wheeler

Freedom is not security. It’s understandable you would value your security, because it’s highly likely that you attended a school whose curriculum was created by the state. It’s no coincidence that few Europeans value gun ownership, because they weren’t raised and taught to value it.

We are each a product of his or her environment. Many Americans have flipped on this issue, largely because our school system has become more and more socialistic during the past 100 years.

I’m no better than anyone else, but being exposed to the quite valid arguments for the 2nd Amendment (after all, it was created after the colonists literally fought a war against an oppressive monarchic government who tried to disarm the citizens), I have learned to value the right to bear arms.

  • JosephHouseman

Of course it is hypocritical of a guy who makes his living with an assault rifle to imagine it is his right to decide who does or does not NEED an assault rifle. Put aside all the panic and media hype and the FBI crime stats show that only 1/2 of 1% of all homicides are committed with a long gun of any sort, rifle, shotgun or musket. “Common sense” that will tell you that probably the majority of that 1/2 of 1% will be committed with shotguns, there just are many more shotguns laying around. So maybe 1/2 of 1/2 of 1% may be committed with rifles of some sort. Lets say 1/2 of the rifles are what Mr. Stallone would call an “assault Rifle” . So we are now talking 1/2 of 1/2 of 1/2 of 1%. That’s 1/8 of 1% Sly. So if your new law is 100% effective and surely no one believes that even possible, but if we give it 100% it can at best reduce crime by 1/8 of 1% best case scenario. And for that you are going to create an enormous state and federal bureaucracy to implement and oversee and process the registration of existing Assault rifles in the millions and in the process make criminals to those who feel justified in ignoring the wrong headed law.

But he is ultimately on the right track in terms of mental disorders. There seems this great rush to pass new gun control laws which everyone knows will not reduce crime and maybe in a distant second place we may get around to discussion of mental health problems which everyone agrees WILL be of at least some effect. Specifically we need to look into the pharmaceutical involvement in these mass shootings. The one thing all mass shooters have in common is the use of some psychological medication. Lets take a look at that and also a look at why no government agency is looking at that? Couldn’t be the influence of the pharmaceutical industry on politicians and on the news media?

  • http://twitter.com/Kevlar_Vest Kevlar

Blow it out your ass, you punk. I never said anything about mental health laws. I was addressing the idiot movie star that is hypocritically bashing weapons that he glorifies in his films.

  • Usamed

Thank you for the correction in spelling. I’ll edit my comment.

Freedom isn’t about having to justify needs. It’s about being able to honestly fulfill wants.

  • Mendoza

How can you have freedom if you’re allowed to kill innocent people?

  • Mendoza

You need to learn that if you’re going to lump me in with Lanza and Holmes, I’m going to lump you in with Hitler and Stalin.

Arguments in favor of gun control only serve to expose the murderous mentality of those who support it.

  • http://bicyclestc.blogspot.com/ Ryan

If you believe American’s have more freedoms then those in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Canada, Netherlands then you need to get out more. I’ll take the high quality of life those countries offer over being able to own a gun.

Where does it say in the constitution you can have an *assault weapon*? The whole point of the 2nd amendment is for “A well regulated Militia…”

Are things that dangerous in the States that everyone needs a gun?

In how many Euro countries can you stand on a street corner and Call homosexuality moral deviancy? How about saying Muslims are evil and should be deported? In England I’ve read you can be charged with murder if you kill some thug that breaks into your home at 3 AM. True or not? Sounds like violent crime has reached such frightening numbers they are talking about limiting access to knives? France’s tax rate force the well to do out of their home country. How many cars are torched every night outside Paris? Not exactly peaches and cream I think. Please feel free to stay there and I will work to recover America from it’s deep dark plunge toward European style socialist failures. We need to start soon or we will be facing more disasterous communities like Obama’s hometown of Chicago.

A high quality of life is not the responsibility of the state, it’s the responsibility of the individual who desires it. If you equate freedom with a handout from the state, then I will only suggest you’ve been brainwashed by Orwell’s greatest students.

The constitution doesn’t grant any rights; on the contrary, nothing in the constitution authorizes Congress to prohibit ownership of assault weapons or semi-automatic civilian variants which resemble assault weapons.

Lastly, things are not dangerous precisely because we have so many guns.

2011- Anders Behring Breivik kills 77 and injures 242 with bombs and guns in Norway
2011-Amradi Nordine kills 6 and injures 123 with a rifle and grenades in Belgium.
2011-Tristan Van Der Vlis kills 6 and injures 17 with a rifle in the Netherlands

2010- Sabine Radmacher kills 3 injures 18 before being shot by police in Germany
2009- Denis Yevsyukov kills 6 injures 7 in Moscow shooting
I can keep going. See, your beloved Europe is not perfect either. Point the finger at the US all you like but here is the truth.

Well there’s eight mass killings in Europe in three years and that is only a partial list!!

Your post doesn’t make sense. And we don’t have a bill of needs, we have a Bill of RIGHTS. It’s ok. I wouldn’t expect you to understand true freedom.

  • Guest

“Being necessary for the security of a free state” means free from tyranny. It means we have to be able to defend our rights from our own government if need be. The founding fathers of this nation when they wrote those words had done exactly that. If it hasn’t been for their guns in civilian hands, then there would be no AMERICA. If the government and police have it then we should be able to have it and that is the whole point of the second amendment. The founding fathers knew this better than anyone. “Well regulated” simply means “properly equipped”

  • Guest

I’m with you Mendoza. Go look through history. Look at the times a government has disarmed it’s people. Then look what happens next. It’s never pretty…

  • Guest

*its people. Damned autocorrect throwing in unneeded apostrophes

More people are killed with fists every year than with rifles in America. Half of one percent of all murders are with a “long gun” of any kind. Yet they want to take away all the ar15 and aks from law abiding citizens. Make no mistake. This isn’t about “safety”, it isn’t about “saving lives”, or “making kids safe”, it’s about CONTROL

  • Mendoza

A government that does not trust its citizens cannot be trusted.

  • KWMerican

“[Who] needs an assault weapon? Who’s going to attack your house…?

    Hey Sly,

Average # of shots fired by a police officer to stop an attacker = 5
Average # of invaders in a typical home invasion = 3

    Do the math.

And what if you’re the poor unlucky fellow who is attacked by 4 -5 home invaders?

    A 10-round magazine? Nah.

  • KWMerican

Thank you for an honest, non-judgmental comment.

The USA is a totally different paradigm than Europe (I’ve lived on your side of the pond before).

There are two things that cause a great disconnect:

    1. We have a very large underclass that is extremely violent, violent beyond any level of viciousness you will every find in western Europe. More like animals. I would even go so far as using the word “evil”.

    2. Our media presents situations out of context and makes selective overstatements to pursue a liberal agenda.

    3. Our criminals only fear the gun. They do not fear the police. They do not fear prison. States with the highest gun ownership (and least gun control) have much much lower crime rates than States with strict gun control and lower gun ownership.

Google “Hood Life Volume 3 Full Movie” and watch to get a flavor.

    I hope this helps. Cheers.

Americans have been brainwashed by their right-wing governments and special interest groups like the NRA.

  • bxjam85

Mendoza, you have no fucking idea of what you’re talking about. You’re a constitution worshiping, religious fundamentalist. Europeans have plenty of rights. The second amendment doesn’t give us the right to own assault weapons, machine guns, rocket launchers and grenades. Its first clause is “a well regulated militia”. If you want to play with these sorts of weapons, join the police special forces or the military.

You need to stop seeking ultimate authority in an iron age religious text written by desert nomads. Then again, I guess that simple minded people need simple answers to complex issues.

  • Guest

What are all these judgemental European people talking about? If you don’t live here and you don’t know what is really like then kindly shut the fuck up. We don’t care what you think anyway. Europe has mass killings too. Go look it up.
If you recall we won our independence from a European nation thanks to our armed citizenry. Try telling George Washington that only the state should be allowed to have combat arms.
The streets of America are fine. They are safe and there are certain areas people avoid. But we do have criminals. Where I live home invasions are common. Usually it is two or three or four assailants who bust in the door and tie people up and rob them. If four people bust in my door, a revolver isn’t going to do me much good . An ar15 from the top of my steps is a different story though.

    Europe on Gun Control:

“Jews (§5 of the First Regulations of the German
    Citizenship Law of 14 November 1935, Reichsgesetzblatt I, p. 1333) are
prohibited from acquiring, possessing, and carrying firearms and
ammunition, as well as truncheons or stabbing weapons. Those now
possessing weapons and ammunition are at once to turn them over to the
    local police authority.”

    Confiscation was also made legal.

“Firearms and ammunition found in a Jew’s possession will be forfeited to the government without compensation.”

Hey man, if you want people to listen to what you have to say, you should learn basic spelling and grammar first. Otherwise you just sound ignorant. What you are saying is ignorant anyway though, so in this case you sound doubly ignorant.

  • Guest

You can’t even spell or write English on an elementary school level. It doesn’t lend much credibility to what you are saying. Your whole post is one big rambling misspelled run-on sentence. Are you even American? If not then fuck off and mind your own business.

  • Matrim

Actually, you are dead wrong. States with higher rates of gun violence (and violence in general) tend to have fewer restrictions on firearms. There are a few outliers, but in general the more regulation on firearms, the lower the murder rate.

Also any time someone uses the term “liberal agenda,” it’s pretty much a red flag for people to double check what you are saying…in this case it didn’t work out for you.

    Cheers.

  • Matrim

You do realize that America has (and almost always has had) a slew of socialist policies, right? Methinks you’re just throwing it around like a scare work.
And, in point of fact, the government DOES have the constitutional power to take your property. It has for a long, long time. Just throwing that out there.

  • KWMerican

You’re counting suicides, gang-bangers killing each other, and good guys shooting (or shooting at) bad guys.

Guess you don’t really care about people who live in these outliers (which are more than you allude), that account for the majority of people we really care about protecting.

Seems you’re more concerned about the city thugs’ welfare at everyone else’s expense. How noble of you.

  • http://twitter.com/antistuff Antistuff

    He’s 100% right.

  • http://twitter.com/antistuff Antistuff

What a load of crap, straight from the NRA propaganda machine.

    A retort, point by point:

    1) Nice try avoiding being a racist and instead saying “very large underclass that is extremely violent”

None of the mass shootings are based on criminal activity like robberies, thefts, drugs etc that you are alluding too.

    2) Crazy people with access to assault weapons killed people in a movie theater in Aurora and little kids in Newtown, not the media.

    3) This is a rural vs. urban issue and not a gun control vs. no gun control. Colorado allows concealed carry and tons of folks carry and yet Columbine & Aurora happened here.

This point so often gets misunderstood. Chicago & DC and other “gun-control” cities & states have restrictions as an answer to gun crime problems, not as the cause. The reason they are ineffective is b/c criminals just shop at states where restrictions are lax.

  • Guest

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I could’ve sworn it wasn’t called the “Bill of Needs”, but the “Bill of Rights”

  • http://twitter.com/antistuff Antistuff

IOW – KWMerican says: If you don’t count a bunch of killings than his point stands. LOL x 100000

And who are you to define which people we “really care about protecting”.

  • http://twitter.com/antistuff Antistuff

God didn’t write the US Constitution. So no.

  • http://twitter.com/antistuff Antistuff

Yeah and guess what – severe gun control measures followed.

  • http://twitter.com/antistuff Antistuff

If you really want to compare US vs. Europe in gun killings, trust me….your point will not be made the way you think.

  • http://twitter.com/antistuff Antistuff

And how many US mass killings were stopped because of “good guys with guns”. A bunch of recent shootings happened at GUN RANGES and nobody stopped the criminals. Ridiculous fairytale the gun-nuts always come back to. They think they’re living in a video game.

  • http://twitter.com/antistuff Antistuff

Godwin’d. Takes less and less each time.

  • http://twitter.com/antistuff Antistuff

I don’t trust the people….and you obviously don’t either if you are so paranoid to think everyone needs an assault rifle.

  • http://twitter.com/antistuff Antistuff

you can argue that this doesn’t happen because it doesn’t happen. THE END.

  • http://twitter.com/antistuff Antistuff

You are getting Freedom and Anarchy confused. You want real freedom from the state – go to Haiti or Somalia and let me know how it is.

  • http://twitter.com/antistuff Antistuff

In the Constitution is a little piece called THE BILL OF RIGHTS. God you are dumb.

  • http://twitter.com/antistuff Antistuff

In this hypothetical battle against US Tyrannical government, do you think your AR-15 has a chance against a smartbomb fired from an F16?

  • http://twitter.com/antistuff Antistuff

That’s not Europe on Gun Control.

    That’s Nazi Germany on Jews.

You know the Nazi’s did a lot worse to Jews right?

  • Freedom

The point is that bad things can and do happen because of gun control and that’s why the US Constitution protects us from being disarmed.

Now if you could figure out a way to make all gun’s disappear…poof! I’d be all for that, but when the only gun disappearing is mine, the law abiding citizen, I say NO!

Here’s one from last week in which an armed guard stopped a school shooter. A ridiculous fairy-tale? Asshole.

  • Guest

So what’s your bullshit retort going to be now?

  • KWMerican

Get control of yourself and avoid being so emotionally driven.

    Murder Weapons:

Rifle (hunting et al) = 453
    Clubs, hammers, etc. = 674
Hands, fist, feet etc. = 869
    Knives = 1,817
    Pistols =12,211
Modern precision sporting rifles (so-called “assault rifle”) <75

Thousands and thousands of minorities are killed with pistols, but you don't push to ban pistols.

A few mostly white people are killed with a modern sporting weapon (what the uninformed call "assault weapons"), and suddenly you want to ban the rifles.

    THOUSANDS vs <75

    You're a bona fide racist.

  • Guest

Bull shit it doesn’t happen. What are you, fucking blind or do you just live under a rock?

  • Get Real

There is no way our soldiers would turn their weapons on us. My friends are all soldiers and cops and they are ALL opposed to gun control and they have said they will NOT help strip us of our rights. If an armed conflict began between the government and the people the majority of police and military would defect immediately.

Antistuff doesn’t base his arguments on facts. He bases them on sensationalism and propaganda. Don’t let this troll get to you.

I’m kind of new to this. Thanks for the pointer.

All semiautomatic weapons have the same rate of fire. A gun is NOT more dangerous due to scary cosmetic features. So when you say han assault weapons, you mean han All semiauto weapons, so fuck you!!

  • Daddy

It’s not a assault weapon it’s a personal defense weapon, if you have 3 or 4 intruders breaking into your home you need to protect your family, cause the response time from 911 takes to long that is a fact! And Sylvester Stallone shouldn’t talk! with his instructional movies on killing people! That is the problem when mentality unstable people are watching you killing people on screen and being a hero! You have your body guards so don’t say we can’t have our personal defense weapons!

  • Daddy

My gun save me and my children a few years back! 3 guys against me and my family and when they saw my gun they ran. So Bravo back remember this post when they are kicking your down!!
