My comment is who cares what Susan Sarandon has to say? Her opinion carries more weight than mine or yours or his or hers why?

technically he was a nazi as he was conscripted into the Hitler’s Youth and was a German Army soldier during the war.

Yes, he was a member of Hitler’s youth and that was a party of the Nazi party, but that was YOUTH, ages 14-18. Supposedly, there were times when young children were forced to join the movement, different years. The Pope said he was forced to join, others disagree, and say the year he joined, 1941, was not a forced year. His parents, Roman Catholics were not Nazi Members and had to move 4x in 10years because of this. The Pope did not attend any meetings as a youth member, something that would have paid for part or all of his semiary school. One of his cousins, the same age in ’41-14, with downs, was taken away and killed by the Nazi regime. The Pope later was in the infantry and desserted as the allied forces drew near in ’45. Some, again, say what a coincidence that the war was near the end. But how would a 17/18 yo-know or be sure? He was a POW for a short time there after. There were never any indications that he or any family members were nazis or helped the nazis. This goes for soldiers being Nazis too. German Soldiers were not necessarily Nazis. Nazi was a POLITICAL PARTY. (Nationalsozialisische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei -Nazi) so, put it in today’s context- Our gov’t is being run by a Democratic President. Our soldiers are American. That does not mean all the soldiers are Democrats. The period in time was run by FEAR. Fear you were going to die. Sites will point out that others living near the Pope’s FAMILY took in Jews, and political enemies. Also, the 1941 was not a forced registration year for Hitler’s Youth, so why did Pope Benedict join at 14+ in a not ‘forced’ year. We WERE NOT THERE. THERE WERE NO COMPUTERS, NO EXACT NOTES, NO DIARIES. We do not know exactly what happened. We have to go by his WORD. A HOLY MAN’S WORD. The Youth were YOUTH. His family were not Nazi’s END OF STORY. BUT S. SARANDON IS A ‘BLEEDING HEART LIBERAL’. Actually, that is disgracing that term. I know people who are liberals who care, work hard and do not point fingers and curse others out. Sarandon LOOKS FOR CONSTANT ATTENTION and as time goes by, it is with HATE, HER VIEW OF THE TRUTH, ETC. But make sure you get her picture, like down on Wall Street-with the other milliionaires who came down to support the out of work protestors. No, tell them they are in the wrong place, go to washington, change the laws, and Yes, I WILL HELP YOU GET A JOB OR I HAVE A JOB, JOBS FOR A BUNCH OF YOU!.

S. Sarandon has always been fanatic for causes that are not even worthy talking about. She was and still is a”bug eyed” stupid “broad” and that is why Tim Robbins finally left her old arse. Who takes her seriously, come on!!!!

I remember back at the 2003 Oscars she and her then husband showed how they were against the Iraq war. Pretty brave on their part considering even Hollywood seemed to be on the side of that bogus war that year that has ended in over 4000 american soldier’s death and maybe a 100,000 Iraqi deaths.

I wonder if anyone commenting above was against the war in 2003 or did you fall into “you are either with us or against us” mantra that the media promoted?

1) Regardless of Sarandon’s Nazi comment, it’s rather troubling that you think most cause for which she’s a “fanatic” are not worthy. So civil rights, breast cancer research, etc. aren’t worthy causes? With a name like “Lila”, I would assume you’re a female; apparently you don’t put much care into preventing and treating a disease that affects almost every man and woman alive?

2) Why are you placing quotes around “bug eyed [sic]” and “broad”? Quotation marks are used when something it being quoted.

3) Finally, you’re obviously not aware that Sarandon left Tim Robbins for a man young enough to be her son.

Technically a nazi is someone who was a member of the SS. German army soldiers and Hitler’s youth were not nazi’s!
