Feel sorry for everyone involved, especially Suri. No matter what Suri loves her dad and should see him. Tom does seem controlling but no one really knows what is going on but the people involved. Hope everyone finds a peaceful solution to this and it works out the best for Suri and Katy.

I know what it is like when you are 25 and completely wide-eyed and excited for anything new. Everything is exciting…especially with something solid like Tom Cruise. You can be extremely gullible at that age and even if Tom told her and showed her about Scientology, that could have been something she was willing to try out, or join because it was important to him. Catholic as she may be, she may have fallen off the band wagon and not really been keeping up with her Catholic roots at the time. I’ve been there and found myself with someone, married, pregnant…..and boy did my eyes really open to reality after our son was born. You can really come full circle and wonder “what the hell just happened?” even though you were the one making all the decisions. So here we are and she realizes this isn’t working. Besides all the reasons we do not know about, Suri became the her focus…the absolute reason that directs her in a direct path of knowing what she wants because she doesn’t want to put her child in an unstable place. As time progressed, the feeling grew more and more intense and I am sure by then she knew Scientology is NOT what she wanted, let alone for her child. I am saddened this is ending in a divorce, but happy that she is following her roots, her Catholic roots that really follow what is important and obviously guided her and stuck with her even when she fell away. Society allows us to think Christ is not important and we think it’s okay because it’s the popular vote by the mass we live around in our environment. We are allowed to make our own decisions…but we slip sometimes and let others make them for us. Being in Hollywood..it’s easier for stars to slip. I am really proud of her for being so brave and saying enough is enough and my child is worth it…and so am I. My hopes is that this could be a peaceful divorce (I know they never are), but for the sake of their daughter. Seeing that Tom never talks about his kids he adopted with Nicole and has only had Suri in the lime light since…..I really feel she belongs with her mother. It does not mean Suri shouldn’t see her father, but in order for Suri to really get the lifestyle that is important to Katie, then the only sound way would to be reside with Katie. I don’t think constant travels, being out of school just to globe trot and practice Scientology because it’s the coolest thing in Hollywood is what is best for their daughter. Of course this is only my opinion, but I’ve been there and have been making up for my mistakes ever since. However, my beautiful boy is much better off than he would have been, had I allowed myself to continue following what others wanted me to do.

Not really. She was quite young, inexperienced, had had a crush on Cruise for years, was dazzled by the rush of attention from him, so suddenly. I am pretty sure Cruise and his CoS colleagues did everything possible to put the best face on what CoS was all about, making it seem wonderful. I don’t think they mentioned the isolationism program from non-CoS family and former friends, the re-education camps for people who tried to leave, the beatings, the blacklisting, the child slave labor, and their intrusion into every part of your life, up to and including your pregnancy and the birthing of your child. If I can look up the CoS on Wikipedia and find out all the weird sh*t this “church” follows, then I think she could have done the same. Granted, there is some secret hush hush stuff you only gain access to after attaining higher levels, but the gist of the “religion” is well known and public knowledge. I don’t doubt that she got caught up and bought into it for Tom, but, man… a simple Google search would get you all the info you need to know about how weird those people are!

This doesn’t really make any sense. Why would she leave him just because they couldn’t agree on how Suri will be schooled? Together or not, they both have to agree on how to raise thier daughter.

I think Katie Holmes should definitely be watching her back. I find it hard to believe that Scientology is going to want this to spill out in court. If I were her, I definitely would not be letting my child out of my sight and for sure I would not be feeling very safe. I hope she has her family around to look out for her. She did the right thing in leaving him, a lot of women would be to scared to do so. It shows that Suri, is her number one priority.

At least Katie is going to fight for her child. Nicole Kidman didn’t even try. She just let Tom have them and raise them in that crazy religion and now she has no relationship with them. Sad.

Suri is 6, just the age when her formal education will start. If Tom is as controlling as everyone says, and we know how deep he is into Scientology, it just makes sense that now is a good time to move on. Katie and Tom have no doubt been fighting about Scientology education for Suri and Katie was scared to death for her child. I don’t blame her…..it is truly frightening. Thank God Katie has her parents…they seem truly able to help her. Best of luck with this Katie and Suri. It would be a shame to see Suri end up as close to her mother as Tom’s other kids are to Nicole.

You have no idea what the COS is about. They don’t educate the kids, they brainwash them.

It’s not about COS or Tom being controlling. If you remember, Katie got pregnant just knowing him for 3 months! Duh, birth control?? And she raved about COS for a long time. This is about a little girl getting what she thought she wanted, and found out the lifestyle (globetrotting, Tom gone a lot) isn’t what she wants. She can’t have a career. It’s all about her…not Suri so much. She has done most of the child rearing thus far and look at the mess. Parenting isn’t just being there. Giving a child anything they want and treating them like an adult is not wise. This whole story is about being careful what you wish for….you just might get it. It’s terribly sad for Suri.

Katie hasnt looked happy in a long time so why didnt she get out of the marriage? She has a high profile and could have left at any time, but she stayed to finish her contract and then secretly made plans to leave so she could do it publicly on Tom’s birthday. I hope Tom has shared custody of his daughter and Katie does not call the shots. If it isnt about the money then Katie should walk away with what she earned and no more. Tom Cruise however is a very generous man. Think about it, what evil or harm has he done to any of the women he’s been associated with. Oh yeah and Connor and Isabella chose not to live with Nicole.

People need to look at the way Katie has handled this whole thing. Taking Suri away from a father who dotes on her is hurting the child and it doesn’t appear that Katie gives a damn. She is very selfish. This could have been played out in private but she chose to make it public. Shame on her and shame on her for not being woman enough to make this a private matter. How do you proclaim such love for someone and then want to stomp on their emotions by using your child to do it. She will some day regret her foolish ways. It seems no one in the media even cares to focus on what this might be doing to this child. The child will become aware one day. Regardless of how she wants to raise Suri you just don’t go off in public and kick the father to the curb. She could use some sound advice from a professional.
