Sundance Head ‘No One’ “The Voice” Video: Watch Top 11 Performance!
Sundance Head covered “No One” by “The Voice” coach Alicia Keys during Monday’s show and received a standing ovation. Check out the video below!
This marks Keys’ first season as a coach on the NBC competition, and her hit music has repeatedly come up. During Darby Walker’s Blind Audition, for instance, she and Keys ended up singing a bit of “No One” together. Now Head, who previously covered Miley Cyrus’ “The Climb,” was inspired to do his own rendition of Keys’ classic song.
The former “American Idol” contestant, who is actually on Blake Shelton’s team, had previously sung a snippet of “Fallin'” on the show, and expressed he now wanted to change up “No One” to his soul-country style. “It takes some nerve to do this song in front of Alicia,” Shelton observed. Head even thought it might be the most challenging performance of his whole life.
But on the stage with his acoustic guitar, he appeared confident as he got lost in the music, though the song was changed so much, it wasn’t immediately recognizable as “No One.” Still, Keys was seen grooving along to the interpretation. And Head received a coveted standing ovation from all four coaches.
“I’ve never heard anybody sing ‘No One’ like that. You’re like the one person I wish was on my team,” Keys said afterward, adding, “You just made me listen to my song in a whole new way.” Shelton then told his artist, “I think you should feel really proud of yourself right now.” He further deemed it a “breakout moment.” Watch below!
