“Straight Outta Compton” Wins Box Office For Third Weekend In A Row
Straight Outta Compton won the box office for the third weekend in a row.
As Gossip Cop has reported, the biopic about the rise and fall of N.W.A. crushed its competition when it opened earlier this month. The critically-acclaimed film went on to take the number one spot at the box office again last weekend, and now it has done it again.
Coming in second surprisingly was War Room, a little-known Christian film. It shocked analysts by amassing an unpredicted $11 million. Nabbing third place was Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation. The film brought in another $8.3 million, and just barely edged out the Owen Wilson dramatic thriller No Escape, which finished in fourth place with $8.2 million. Sinsister 2 secured a distant fifth place with $4.7 million.
Rounding out the Top 10 were Man From U.N.C.L.E with $4.4 million in ticket sales. That was followed by Hitman: Agent 47 in seventh place with $3.9 million, The Gift with $3.1 million, and Jurassic World in the ninth position with $3 million. Remaining in the Top 10 was Ant-Man with $3 million. Tell Gossip Cop what you saw this weekend.
