Stevie Nicks on Idol Feud : I Would Have “Strangled” Nicki Minaj If I Were Mariah

Stevie Nicks is the latest star to weigh in on the “American Idol” feud between Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey, and it’s pretty clear whose side she’s on.

The Fleetwood Mac singer, who last season worked as a mentor on the singing competition show, says that if she had been the subject of Minaj’s profanity-laced outburst, she would have retaliated — tenfold.

Nicks told The Daily, “How dare this little girl… If I had been Mariah I would have walked over to Nicki and strangled her to death right there.”

The music legend added, “I would have killed her in front of all those people and had to go to jail for it.”

Whoa.

    Her response is stupid. She’s saying if she were Mariah or if she’d been there and she [Nicki] disrespected her, she’d choke her to death. The whole reason Nicki cussed Mariah out in the first place is because she was CLEARLY being/feeling disrespected. So in essence, She’s saying that choking & killing the person disrespecting you is a better way to handle the situation than cussing the person out. Great message for the kids. The reality is people still have no idea what was said or done that led up to that 1 MINUTE of footage that was posted. People don’t just blow up like Nicki did for no reason, she was clearly provoked by something that was being said or done. Humans get angry from time to time & blow up occasionally, it’s quite normal. I am all for respecting elders & legends. However, I’m also all for respecting yourself & not letting others (legend or not) treat you like dirt.

    i agree with stevie. and this should never even have happened. why is nicki a judge? a mentor for an episode i can see but a judge? the last judges they had i can see why they were judges. steven tyler, j.lo, mariah (i don’t know who else cuz i don’t watch this show) all have a right to be there because they have had many hits and have been in the business for decades. i don’t think nicki has been around even a quarter of a decade. i know demi lovato is going to be brought up about that one but as long as she doesn’t cause a moronic movie like nicki then she’s clean.

    Mariah is an arrogant snob who thinks soooooo much of herself that actually she pays someone to compliment her breasts all day and pays someone to walk backwards in front of her just in case she trips in her massive stilettos. I’ll side with Nicki on this one…..

    I don’t think that she should have killed Nicki…but I think that she should have put her in her place. Mariah is a legend? Who is Nicki Minaj? She is new to the game compared to Mariah and she needs to earn her respect.

    How do you know if Mariah wasn’t being mean to Nicki?? Just because Mariah is a pop legend it doesn’t mean she should treat everyone badly.

    Haha! I’m with Stevie Nicks. Mariah is an icon. Nickie Minaj is a sassy little upstart flash-in-the-pan who will not be remembered past Tuesday in the world scheme. She should be thankful she got tapped to even be on the show in the company of her betters. If this mess is for real, Idol should release Minaj from her contract and get someone else. Nobody wants to look at that mess.
