Stevie Nicks: I’m “Truly Sorry” For Saying I Would “Strangle” Nicki Minaj To Death

Stevie Nicks is apologizing for saying she would have “strangled” Nicki Minaj to death if she were Mariah Carey.

As Gossip Cop previously reported, Nicks weighed in on the ongoing feud between the “American Idol” judges, saying she “would have killed [Minaj] in front of all those people and had to go to jail for it.”

Now Nicks is emphatically taking back her words, admitting she “spoke without thinking.”

“I want to apologize for my remarks about Nicki Minaj’s behavior toward Mariah Carey, which I said during a long and exhausting day of interviews,” the singer says in a statement.

She continues, “It was very out of character for me and I deeply regret what I said. I feel very protective toward Mariah Carey, who has gone through many difficulties in her life, and I spoke without thinking.”

“I think all artists should be respectful toward one another and that includes me. I am truly sorry,” Nicks concludes.

    I doubt little Stevie could strangle anyone these days Doubt Minaj incurred any increased security cost to combat threat. However, poor choice of words. Don’t express outrage over somebody allegedly threatening to shoot someone by saying you want to strangle them to death

    At least it is a real apology. Not one of those “if I offended someone, then oops”. She took responsibility for her words and that is rare these days. She didn’t blame anyone or the media. Good for her.

    lol…I guess an apology was appropriate because though I think she should be chocked, to death is probably a little excessive. Just sayin. She is annoying.

    She said that Mariah has gone thu a lot of stuff in life… Yet if you compare bios nicki has gone through more stuff than Mariah has. Not taking side but I did read their life stories and watched them both talk about it. Nothing “terrible” happened to Mariah. Even tho I’m not a complete fan of nicki music the woman has had a hard life growing up. Probably why girls feels so close to her supporting her. ASIDE from that nicki does treat her fans better. But that’s my opinion. Either way she should have never said what she said she sounded no better than nicki did.

    A few years back Mariah Carey had a complete mental breakdown after being in an abusive relationship with her ex husband. She was sick for a very long time. Mariah has also been in the music industry for much longer then Nicki and deserves more respect then what she had given her. You fail to see that a verbal threat against someone can be just as distressing as someone physically assaulting you. When you have a history with mental illness it can take the smallest thing to send you back into a downward spiral. When Nicki starts writing better music then “Stupid Hoe” and when she has been at the top of the charts for as long as Mariah Carey, then maybe she will be qualified to judge someone else on their ability, because right now all she looks like is an immature brat with a superiority complex.
