Steven Tyler, who was dizzy because of gastrointestinal problems, fell in the shower of a hotel in Paraguay on Tuesday, knocking out a couple of teeth and suffering injuries to his face.

Aerosmith‘s concert that night was later cancelled.

Now the “American Idol” host and rock icon’s manager explains what happened.

In a released statement, the singer’s rep says, “Steven Tyler suffered minor injuries as a result of food poisoning… He was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.”

“Steven would like to sincerely apologize to his fans in Paraguay for the inconvenience,” adds the rep, noting that the concert has been rescheduled to Wednesday night.

The dentist, who replaced Tyler’s two teeth told a local radio show, the singer was “doing splendidly.”

    It’s true. They cancelled the show tonight. People had been standing in the line to enter the venue since midnight. It’s the first time Aerosmith comes to Paraguay. We were really looking forward to it. We hope he gets better so we can have an amazing show tomorrow. Our best wishes for Steven!

    It was an awesome show! Steven really stepped up and gave an amazing performance, even with a black eye. Which, let me tell you, gave him a hyper Rock Star look. On the bright side, he got a shiny new smile… Seriously, they gave a super strong bleaching. What more can I say? They wore the official T-shirts of Paraguay’s soccer team (Albirroja) while singing “Dream on”, and Steven said closed the night saying: “Rohayhu, Paraguay!” which means: “I love you, Paraguay” in guarani (our 2° Official language). Over 70.000 fans are very happy with Aerosmith right now. Even if some of us had to get rain on our heads while forming a line yesterday for nothing XD
