Steve Jones: I’m Not Returning As X Factor Host

Steve Jones revealed on Twitter Monday night that he won’t return as “The X Factor” host in season 2.

“I wont be hosting next seasons XFactor which is a shame but I cant complain as I’ve had a great time,” the Welsh TV personality tweeted.

He added, “Good luck to everyone on the show.”

After receiving dismal reviews for his hosting skills during the inaugural season of the FOX competition series, speculation ran rampant that Jones would be canned.

At the time, the network and “X Factor” producers refused to comment on the reports, while Jones’ rep insisted the parties hadn’t discussed him leaving the show.

    jeesh, it was his first time and you judge him now for doing what he was told? if he don’t stop the judges it will take forever and besides they were going on and on with their explanations. giving him time, he will outstage ryan seacrest, i betcha…

    There are many other hosts who manage to get through a show without the abrupt tone that Steve Jones had. I have never seen a host interrupt and cut people off so rudely, not Cat Deely, not Ryan Seacrest. Steve Jones had an arrogance about him, definitely not suitable for hosting a show. He did not come across as a shoulder to lean on for any of the contestants. Even when Melanie won and she was so happy, thanking God with her hands together, there was Steve Jones trying to interupt her, he just sucked, seriously.

    This guy just sucked. He was the worst Talent Contest host on American Tv. A lot of money is at stake for the network they can not afford to waste another season just to see if he can do it better. He is judge on how he did the entire season. That is more then enough time to tell. Actually my girlfriend said after the first episode that he was horrible. He was stiff, snobby and came off very unlikeable.

    Personally I think steve jones was an amazing host and was not being rude when he cut off the judges he was being nice to viewers so the show wouldnt run out of time

    Easily the most off-putting TV personality I’ve ever seen. If there was an “X Factor” for that special unlikeable quality someone might have, he would win it. Just a pretty face, nothing more.
