Red Nose Day has long been a staple in the U.K., with an annual televised fundraising special held each year for the last three decades. Now, for the first time in America, NBC will be airing a three-hour live “Red Nose Day” telethon on Thursday night, hosted by Seth Meyers, David Duchovny and Jane Krakowski. Dozens of stars have signed up to participate in the televised charity extravaganza, including Will Ferrell, Julianne Moore, Neil Patrick Harris, Coldplay, Julia Roberts, Reese Witherspoon, and Jodie Foster. The special will also feature musical performances, short films, and Funny or Die segments.
The money raised during “Red Nose Day” will go towards funding programs that address the “needs of children and young people living in poverty in the U.S. and overseas.” Those who can’t attend the event in person, like Kim Kardashian, are still showing their support via social media. Check out the “Red Nose Day” portraits below, and tell us what you think of the stars pitching in for charity.
