Stars React to Supreme Court Gay Marriage Victories on DOMA and Prop 8
Celebs are taking to Twitter on Wednesday to react to the Supreme Court striking down the Defense of Marriage Act. The highest court in the land declared the legislation, which says marriage must be between a man and a woman, unconstitutional, allowing homosexual couples to receive the same benefits as heterosexual couples.
The Court also struck down California’s Proposition 8, which comes after hearings about the legality of the state’s gay marriage ban in March. The ruling allows gay marriage to resume in California, but doesn’t legalize it in other states. Check out some of the reactions to the major decisions here.
Today’s DOMA ruling is a historic step forward for #MarriageEquality. #LoveIsLove
