Stars Praise President Obama’s Eulogy For Clementa Pinckney – See Celebrity Reactions (VIDEO)
Stars are praising President Obama’s touching eulogy in Charleston on Friday for Democratic state senator and reverend Clementa Pinckney, who was killed on June 17 in the horrific Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal church shooting. As Gossip Cop reported at the time, Pinckney and eight other members of Charleston church were shot and killed by Dylann Roof during a bible study class.
In his eulogy, President Obama called Pinckney “a man of God, who lived by faith. A man who believed in things not seen. A man who believed there were better days ahead, off in the distance.” The President ended his eulogy by having everyone sing “Amazing Grace.” President Obama’s kind words for Pinckney resonated with many people, including a number of celebrities who tweeted their thoughts about the funeral service.
Kelly Rowland wrote, “Every word, amazing! @POTUS.” Katie Couric called the eulogy “extraordinarily moving.” She added, “Watch if you can with your children. #Charlestonstrong.” Josh Groban noted, “Obama’s Eulogy for Rev Pinckney is one of the greatest things I’ve ever seen. Amen.”
Debra Messing also commented on the speech, tweeting, “POTUS just gave one of the most beautiful eulogies/speeches I have ever heard in my life.” Kerry Washington expressed, “Dear Lord! This @POTUS eulogy for #ClementaPinckney is taking my breath away. #Grace.” She continued, “Tears. Just tears. What a day.
