Star mag loses in “showdown” with Jessica Biel & Rihanna

Gossip Cop seriously wonders whether the Star truly has sources for some of its stories. Case in point is an article this week pitting Jessica Biel against Rihanna. In the piece titled, “Jessica vs. Rihanna: Showdown!” the rag claims, “The catfight over Justin Timberlake has taken an ugly turn.”

According to a seemingly fictitious source, “Jessica has been so upset over Justin and Rihanna, she flew to New York to confront her… [and] intimidate Rihanna.” Really? Actually, as Gossip Cop reported last week, Biel flew to New York to do a Broadway workshop. Oops.

The magazine then claims a “second” showdown was to take place in Las Vegas, where Timberlake was at a charity golf tournament. “But the Sin City showdown also fizzled,” reports the Star, because Rihanna had to “cancel her trip” to work on a music video and, oh yeah, “Jessica ended up staying in Manhattan too.” Again, Biel was in New York for the workshop – and didn’t have plans to be in Vegas.

Wait, if Biel and Rihanna both ended up staying in New York, why didn’t they have the “showdown” there?

Here are a few reasons: (1) Timberlake and Rihanna aren’t fooling around, (2) these so-called “showdowns” are completely made up, and (3) Timberlake and Biel are still together. In fact, they were on a date together last night in Vancouver.

Seriously, the only thing Star got right were the spellings of the stars’ names. Embarrassing.

    Jessica also apparently auditioned for a Broadway play while in NYC. Here’s a piece of the article: Salma Hayek, Jessica Biel, Matthew Morrison and Paulo Szot toplined a closed reading last weekend of Lincoln Center Theater’s developing tuner version of “Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown.” There’s pictures now of jessica and justin in Vancouver. When are these blogs and tabloids just going to admit they were wrong and they never broke up in the first place. And that justin is working on rihanna’s album not on rihanna.

    I love how they tried to get readers to believe that Rihanna suddenly had to cancel her trip to Las Vegas because she had to do a music video. That video shoot would have been planned months in advance in order to hire the director and all the crew for the shoot, put together the whole concept, and book the venue or reserve the area (if it was done outside) where they shot it, among other things. But people are supposed to believe that Rihanna was so scared of running into Jessica Biel in Vegas and getting into a catfight that she decided to throw together an impromptu music video shoot at the last minute just to avoid going to Vegas? It’s really hilarious when you take a look at the stuff they want people to believe sometimes.

    But besides all that, I really can’t imagine Justin and Rihanna having a romantic relationship. I don’t know what it is, because they both seem like lovely people. But, besides the fact that I can’t see Justin as the cheating type, the idea of him with Rihanna just doesn’t mesh. And, more importantly, I don’t get why these tabloids want so badly to make people believe that there is something going on between them.
