Demi Lovato‘s treatment for personal issues will result in changes to her hit TV show.

The Disney Channel‘s “Sonny With a Chance” will be tweaked while its star recovers, with producers playing up the importance of the show-within-a-show, “So Random!”

“So Random!” is a sketch comedy show starring many of the “Sonny” cast members.

The change will allow production on the third season of “Sonny” to begin in January 2011 as scheduled.

It will allow Lovato “the time she needs to get well, without distraction or pressure,” a network spokesperson told Variety. “Again, we extend our ongoing support to Demi and her family as she works to overcome personal issues.”

Lovato left a concert tour to enter treatment for “emotional and physical issues” two weeks ago.
