Solange Marries Alan Ferguson, Beyonce And Jay Z Attend Wedding (PHOTOS)
Solange married Alan Ferguson in an all-white affair on Sunday. The nuptials were held in New Orleans, and attended by Solange’s sister Beyoncé and brother-in-law Jay Z, as well as Blue Ivy. Click here to see photos of the superstar couple arriving before the ceremony.
Wedding guests also included the famous sisters’ mom Tina, who had a big birthday bash in the Big Easy earlier this year. Beyoncé helped Solange celebrate at a pre-wedding party on Friday, in which 50 friends and family went to Indywood Cinema, where attendees saw a film recounting how the bride met her groom Ferguson, before watching the movie they saw on their first date.
Beyoncé went to the shindig solo, prompting some to wonder whether Jay Z wasn’t attending the wedding festivities, which were taking place six months after he and Solange infamously fought in an elevator, an altercation that went public when surveillance footage leaked. The trio maintained a united front in the aftermath, and released a statement saying, in part, “The most important thing is that our family has worked through it.”
It went on, “Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family,” adding, “At the end of the day families have problems and we’re no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.” As Gossip Cop reported at the time, they were all spotted together days later in (where else?) New Orleans.
An all-white rehearsal dinner was held on Saturday. This is the second marriage for Solange. She was previously wed to Daniel Smith, with whom she had son Daniel Julez J. Smith, Jr. in 2004. The singer confirmed she and Smith divorced three years later. She and Julez moved to New Orleans last year.
