Snooki Talks About Drinking During Pregnancy and Jersey Shore Future

Truth rating: 10

(Us Weekly)

Even though Gossip Cop already confirmed the news of Snooki’s pregnancy and engagement earlier this week, Us Weekly’s cover story contains some interesting details about the “Jersey Shore” meatball’s unexpected, imminent motherhood.

For starters, Snooki is 15 weeks pregnant, and explains that she lied about it until now because “the cardinal rule when you are pregnant is that you can’t tell anyone but your closest friends and family till after three months.”

She and fiancé Jionni LaValle found out about the pregnancy right after partying in Las Vegas over New Year’s.

Snooki’s immediate thought?

“S**t, I’ve been drinking!” she recalls.

“It was New Year’s Eve and we were in Vegas, so I did go crazy,” explains Snooki. “I didn’t want to drink for a good two months after that anyway.”

The couple confirms that it was NOT a planned pregnancy, with LaValle calling it a “happy accident.”

Snooki says she doesn’t miss partying: “I just want to stay home and relax. No more peeing on porches. Those days are over.”

As for “Jersey Shore,” Snooki declares, “I’m not living in that house being pregnant. I don’t want to be one of those moms who’s pregnant in a club. It’s disgusting.”

The baby “looks like an alien” in the sonogram, says Snooki, who plans to be drugged for delivery: “Natural birth? Eff that!”

As for their engagement, LaValle proposed at the W Hotel in Hoboken, NJ on Valentine’s Day.

There’s no wedding date yet, because Snooki plans to “focus on the baby first.”

To the people who doubt whether she’ll make a good mom, Snooki says, “I don’t care what anybody else thinks. As long as I know I’m ready and he’s ready, I don’t have to talk to anybody else about it.”

I agree with Snooki…who cares what others think. It’s amazing how people can change once they have a baby growing inside them.

and i’m sure that phrase has been said by other pregnant moms too doesn’t mean they aren’t ready to be a mom. saying something like that or being drugged for a delivery doesn’t mean your gonna be a bad mom or are immature. i know plenty of moms who have said something along those lines

  • Zelda

    Oh shut up!

  • Megan

well i guess by that comment i can see where your maturity level is. did it ever occur to you that pregnant woman says stuff like that because they are scared of the pain when giving birth.

Just because a women uses pain relief doesn’t make them any less of a Mother. I had an epidural, it failed and I was confined to a bed for over 18 hours not being able to stand but feeling every contraction and then I was forced to have a c section. It doesn’t make me any less of a mother then someone who had a natural birth. Grow up, not everyone can have a natural birth! If you can then thats great, but if you can’t your body still goes through an enormous amount of stress. Have you had children of your own, or are you just one of those women who passes judgment before actually experience the excruciation pain of child birth?

Drinking during pregnancy, even the earliest stages (before most women know they’re pregnant) can harm your baby and affect later development. I do commend Snooki for being honest about drinking before she knew, because the more we talk about it the more we can reduce the stigma and more women can get the help and support they need to have alcohol-free pregnancies.

Support the women in your community by spreading awareness and helping them to have alcohol-free pregnancies.

Have you given birth? I have and I totally agree with her statement. 18 hours of labor and I was screaming for the epidural. There’s nothing natural about the pain. lol. Eff that. My lil girl was beyond fine and is the most calm, happy babies ever. She’ll be 1 in a couple of weeks.

Actually, you really don’t have any clue. Trust me on this. Doctors will reassure women that all is fine if they were drinking before they knew. I had a friend who was smashed before finding out she was pregnant. She totally freaked out and told the doctor immediately after finding out. They reassured her that it would be fine before doing any tests. It was. The kid’s a freaking genius. Tons of mothers drink and smoke before they get that positive. What matters is that they do not continue it afterwards.

You should never drink when you’r about to have a baby..
My sister learnt that the hard way! D:

  • Jessicafontes1

that dont mean shes not mature lots of women have some sort of drug during labor and quite frankly some people actually let there mother instincts burst when they have there children i know i did and fyi i had no choice between natural birth and drugs i had to have a c section with all 3 of my kids does that mean im imature?

  • Jessicafontes1

if shes a rat then stop reading all the gossip about her have compassion for others reguardless of who they r

  • I_loveMeatballs

Good for Snook! I hope she pays no mind to all of the idiots talking about her drinking before she found out she was pregnant. I for one was told i couldnt have kids n was smashed two days before i found out i was pregnant. My son is 3 and is in a class with 5 year olds because he is too advanced for the children his age. I can also say that i was honestly worse than Snookie n most areas of my life, nobody ever thought i would change my ways. The second i found out i was pregnant my whole world was about the life growing in my belly! So, great job Snookie! I know that your loving heart and free spirit will make for an amazing mother! Good luck hun!

  • I_loveMeatballs

Let me say just so we r clear…. I am not condoning drinking while pregnant, i’m saying u can’t blame someone for drinking when they had no idea they were pregnant. Also, i wanted an epidural when i found out i was pregnant… I knew i didnt want that pain. It was good i wanted it too cuz my son was 10lbs 4oz, and i was 135 lbs…. So…….. Good thing i wanted it!

Do you have any idea what you are talking about? The CDC states that there is no safe amount of alcohol to consume during pregnancy. The brain is developing the whole time and can be damaged by any amount of alcohol.
Alcohol Related Birth Defects are most likely when alcohol is consumed in the first trimester, when organs are developing.
Check your facts before you make ill-informed comments.

That being said, good for her for being honest with the doctors. The more the public is educated on this, the more we can prevent one of the leading cause of non-genetic birth defects from happening.

  • FASD Researcher

That’s great for you and your son. However, I have worked with 60+ children who were not as lucky as your son, and have lifelong brain damage.

There is no formula that says x amount of alcohol is safe at a certain time. You are gambling with your child’s future every time you drink when you are pregnant. The best outcome for any mother and her baby is an alcohol-free pregnancy.

  • FASD Researcher

Any doctor will reassure a pregnant woman to make sure she doesn’t freak out and/or think she needs to go have an abortion.

Like I said to meatball chick below, she’s lucky, and so is your friend. Tons of mothers also drink and smoke while they’re pregnant and have brain-damaged children. Those are the children that get seen in my clinic. The other ones are lucky.

Would you take that chance with your child??! I sure wouldn’t.

  • Auntcher

All I can say, is, being an older adult and watching Jersey Shore, ALL of those people seemed to be low class screw hounds. Is she even sure Jionni is the father? And, those foul mouths. My goodness, do they kiss their Moms with those mouths? I am not saying I don’t use a little bad language every now & then, but, the F bomb every other word, by both the boys and girls, just shows their lack of intelligence!! Good luck, Jionni & Snooki, you & your baby are going to need it!

  • Kcp222

    Shut up

  • Kcp222

You are all say these things because she is famous. If she wasn’t famous you guys would be talking about another famous person with the same problem.

  • Kcp222

All I’m saying is to give her a break. Ok it was bad that she drank but she didn’t no she was pregnant.

Snooki pees on porches, thank God those days are over.

  • Nicole Kerley

all of you are just funny to read

  • Kjcamel

Who said anything about a pregnant woman wanting to have an epidural/pain meds during labor was immature or made her a bad mom? What I read said that the comment she made, in other words, the words she use…how she talks, shows her lack of maturity. And please no one cares about ‘personal birth story experiences’. Giving birth is a very common, natural thing for women. You are not the only one who has had your experience whatever it may be….you are not special.

i sed that for both my pregnancies and it has nothing to do with being a bad mom! it just means u dont want all that pain having a child. thats the most stupid thing ive heard in a long time!
