SNL Targets Kim Jong Un With Lasers On “Weekend Update” – WATCH VIDEO
Kim Jong Un was naturally parodied on “SNL,” with Bobby Moynihan reprising his impression of the North Korean dictator, complete with his bowl haircut (video below). Kim Jong Un was on to talk about Christmas shopping, but “Weekend Update” anchor Colin Jost tried to convince Moynihan it wasn’t a “good idea” to do the impression. Moynihan said he was fine, but that suddenly changed very quickly (video below).
As Moynihan’s Kim Jong Un was complaining about how “holiday shopping can be a pain” with all the lines, a red laser from a gun began to focus on his chest. At first Moynihan said he wasn’t going to back down, but when many more lasers started to target him, Moynihan joked, “I’m not Bobby Moynihan, I’m Seth Rogen.”
It was no surprise that “SNL” would mock Kim Jong Un after the recent hacking of Sony, and its decision not to release The Interview, the comedy starring Rogen and James Franco that’s centered around a plot to assassinate the North Korean dictator. Kim Jong Un has been mocked several times before on “SNL,” including a couple of months ago when his public absence was spoofed in the show’s cold open. In that bit, when a member of the military criticized him for being “out of touch,” Kim Jong Un said, “How can I be out of touch when I have the same haircut as Brad Pitt in the movie Fury.”
