SNL Mocks Floyd Mayweather And Manny Pacquiao Fight And Hype – WATCH VIDEO
“SNL” mocked the fact that most of Saturday night’s hype has been around the Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao fight in Las Vegas, and that in an effort to have people not turn away from “Saturday Night Live,” instead of airing the sketch comedy show, NBC decided to air a bootleg version of fight’s feed. “One of the guys on our crew knows a guy, who has a friend, who was able to steal the Pay-Per-View signal,” said an announcer, before cutting to the action in the ring.
It was then noted that because they stole the broadcast of the fight, “some of the visuals may appear distorted,” such as Jay Pharaoh’s Floyd Mayweather was taller while Aidy Bryant’s “Manny Pacquiao may appear to be a white woman with a fake goatee and a T-shirt.” They then showed “Mayweather” and “Pacquiao” (pretend) fight, and warned viewers to not be “shocked by the violent intensity of the fight.”
Naturally, there was a cut to Justin Bieber (Kate McKinnon) sitting ringside. Eventually, though, the fake fight ended because Pharaoh and the match’s ref (Kenan Thompson) walked out of the ring to watch the actual Mayweather-Pacquiao fight in musical guest Wiz Khalifa’s dressing room.
