Walter White Tapped As Donald Trump DEA Chief In ‘SNL’ Cold Open – Watch Video
The cold open of “SNL” mocked Donald Trump’s choices for cabinet positions by having Kellyanne Conway defend his choices on CNN with Jake Tapper. They then had Trump’s new choice for the DEA, Walter White from “Breaking Bad.” The actual Bryan Cranston made a cameo for it. There were, of course, jokes about him knowing about drugs and “making America cook again.” Watch the “Saturday Night Live” video below.
This was one of the rare shows this season that didn’t feature Alec Baldwin as Trump in the show’s opening. Other than the episode right after Trump was elected, during which Kate McKinnon’s Hillary Clinton played “Hallelujah” during the “SNL” cold open, all the other programs began with Baldwin mocking the President-elect. The season premiere parodied the first Clinton and Trump presidential debate.
The sketch comedy program also took aim at Trump and Billy Bush’s leaked video in which they talked inappropriately about women. The second presidential debate between Trump and Clinton was similarly lampooned, as was the third presidential debate. The next show of this season’s “Saturday Night Live” began with a sketch in which Trump and Clinton were interviewed on CNN and asked a series of questions neither wanted to answer. And in the last two episodes, “SNL” made fun of cabinet choices, campaign promises, and Trump’s habit of retweeting ordinary citizens.
