‘SNL’ Donald Trump Press Conference Video – Watch Cold Open
The cold open of “SNL” mocked Donald Trump and his press conference on Wednesday during which he slammed BuzzFeed as a “failing pile of garbage” and called CNN “fake news” when one of its reporters, Jim Acosta, tried to ask the president-elect a question. Several of the reporters in the sketch comedy’s bit asked about his “pee pee party.” Watch the “Saturday Night Live” video below.
Trump said there will be a “stream” of new jobs. He also said his presidency will be a “golden” opportunity for America. And asked, “Your in?” to see if those assembled supported him. There were also swipes at him repealing Obamacare and the role of his family in the administration. “SNL” also mocked Trump for tapping Steve Harvey to work with him. Harvey, played by Kenan Thompson, even answered some questions. And Vladimir Putin asked a question, too, but when Trump seemed to present a tough stance on Russia, Putin waved a VHS tape presumably of him.
With the exception of a few weeks here and there, including right after the election when Kate McKinnon’s Hillary Clinton opened “SNL” by singing “Hallelujah” on the piano, Baldwin has lampooned Trump on most of this season’s shows. As Gossip Cop has previously reported, before the election, “SNL” mocked the first, second and third presidential debates between Trump and Clinton.
Another “SNL” open had Clinton and Trump doing a joint CNN interview, during which she did everything she could to not respond to questions. There was also a show at the end of the year that began with Putin dressed like Santa Claus, paying Trump a visit and giving him an Elf of the Shelf, which was really a spy cam.
